Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

We won't make the same mistakes we did with Hazard and Sneidjer in terms of not wanting to pay the fees and the wages. We will come to an agreement.

Tancredi will be on TalkSport in a few minutes giving update on Pogba situation.

I know match is on but I am on the motorway travelling.

wow... Just fecking wow. I heard/read about this but its something else when you see it with your own eyes... Is there anyway to verify that they actually did this or if its someone on a wind up?
The picture on the right is their websites front page after the game. There were lots of pictures taken by fans at the game and they all show similar images to the one on the left which shows a huge majority of the fans wearing red. They have zero credibility.

Why would Raiola fly to Miami to try and talk Pogba into asking for a transfer if we already have agreed a deal with both Juve and their player?

What is the actual truth? I am calling bullshite on most of the these journos including Di Marzio. None of them know jack sh*t.

He probably gets off on going to various support groups ala fight club.

Don't worry, the thread will go on for long after Pogba signs..
Usually the transfer threads get closed when the transfer is officially done. A new thread is open then.

So our only hope is to make another 5000 posts before Pogba is signed. Otherwise it would look like half a signing.

It DEFINITELY happened.

Also of note, they actually doctored an image to make it look like Pepe never committed a foul once (when he did!), and there was an occasion where they changed the position of a frame of a player to make him look more offside than he was - Dani Alves vs Barcelona.

They are completely and utterly pathetic, it's basically North Korean style 'journalism' when it comes to Madrid. feck that club, and everything they stand for.

I would love to see the original aerial shot taken
Here are some of the original aerial shots and fan shots.

Sorry, I would hide these photo's if I knew how to.

Clearly no doubt that the majority of fans are wearing red in the stadium. Just proves that Marca are a joke of a news outlet and cannot be taken seriously at all.

Oh really? My mistake. Maybe it just became blatantly obvious on the Sunday so it was as good as an official announcement in my mind.
Yeah I've noticed a few transfers confirmed by papers on weekends but not official until a few days later.

Someone mentioned the other day that raiola used to frequently go to Barcelona because maxwell or someone was not able to adjust properly. Clearly the guy cares about his clients so much. It's not far fetched he would go there to meet him and explain the entire thing.

Maybe he also loves Dexter and wanted to see Miami, it's beaches and the girls.

This deal won't go through before next week. Even if Riola arrived in Miami today, got all the signatures and flew back, it would already be the weekend. Then there would have to be PR arrangements, possibly some lawyer work that is still pending + the medical.

This all would mean bringing the staff in to work on the weekend. In the previous years when we announced deals on the weekends, we were running out of time for one reason or the other(the team about to leave for pre-season or the season had already started) so the club had to take urgent measures. But I just don't think there is any reason for urgency from the club's point of view this time.

I'd say Monday medical and Tuesday/Wednesday announcement.

Don't get why so many are paranoid about Madrid regarding this transfer. The only question is if we're ready to pay what it takes to make it happen. That will be the only thing which can keep us from signing Pogba. Pogba will either stay at Juventus or come to Manchester United. There is no 3rd option.

You question is probably rhetorical but, will answer anyway. Several have a big inferiority complex when it comes to Madrid. Madrid's been about Galacticos for a while and they've spent and got their man most of the time. Coupled with the fact that till after Fergie left, we've been reluctant to bend over on some signings so we've lost out on some possible targets.

Things are different now though in my opinion. No Fergie to look for value in the market and Woodward is there establishing himself as a power player in the market. He is going to splash the cash to compete with whoever is out there as long as his manager wants certain players. But, it will take a few more seasons / signings before people get over their insecurities that we are now in a place where we will compete with whomever as long as it's someone we really want.

I don't think it would be announced until past August 6th. But news on an agreement could be very soon.

Not worried about that deal at the slightest. Imagine how much money is in stake for that Raiola guy. If the deal falls through, him, Juve and Pogba will walk away from a gigantic pile of cash.
I'd say Raiola should be sweating over this deal, not us.
I'm totally relaxed and certain that Pogba will be announced as a United player over the weekend.

Thanks.

I think you can use a "spoiler" feature to hide the image

The Dortmund game highlights what we are massively missing. A physical presence in the middle of the park than can battle against teams like this.

We need to throw everything at Pogba now but it's extremely close to being done so I'm not worried.

The midfielders and the players who would compete with Pogba have no clear picture.
If we sell a midfielder, say Schneiderlin, this will send out a clear message that Mou is signing another midfielder and given the rumours, Pogba would be on everybody's lips. And once we have a vacancy in the position, Raoila and Juventus, being the money grabbers they seem, would probably modify something to suit their interests.
On the other hand, if we sign another player, this would send out a message that the 4th player is done and lead to further confusion.

Jose explicitly said that we are after a midfielder and have other option If Juve keeps messing around.

I think it's unrelated really, we don't need the funds and thus we can sell players as soon as acceptable offers come in.

Slightly off topic but it's slightly weird how over time the english game has adopted the European numbering to the extent we know what Mou means when he talks of 6, 8 and 10 in his press conference.

As recently as the 90s a 4 was always the defensive midfielder and 5 and 6 the centre backs. Obviously the number of foreign coaches and players, the death of 4-4-2 and squad numbers has all led to this, but i'm still surprised.
I think we've all had to adapt to it since the virtual end of english managers. If theres a 'culture' within each footballing country then ours had pretty much died about a decade after the creation of the premier league. you could argue the lower leagues are less affected by this.

Your not going judge anything on a friendly with most of the squad missing are you?

If physical presence at the centre of the park is what we're missing, then surely Schneiderlin is just a good a shout. The reason we lost the game today is more to do with Dortmund being way ahead in their training and having many more first team players available. But yeah, agree that Pogba would give us another dimension in our midfield, but that's more to do with his passing range and box to box ability.

Ok, Tancredi phoned into TalkSport with his update on Pogba but his line was sh*t so they told him to call back later.

Wife has had enough of Talksport and wants her tunes on now :(

Hopefully this is announced soon. Would be a smart move by the club as to salvage some of the reputation lost from this spanking vs. Dortmund :wenger:

Nah, just kidding

What we were massively missing was match fitness and the majority of our first team.
