If some Madrid fans are reading this they'll laugh and laugh hard how some of United fans are fearing Madrid.

I'm a little worried now I must say, Mourinho's comments were clearly designed to put some form of pressure on Juve or Raiola.

Real Madrid aren't out of this yet, FFS United just this once pay what it takes let's not let this be another Sneijder or Vidal saga where we just end up looking stupid at the end of it

Madrid sure wont like losing Gomes

That is what i think and especially to Barca. Their politics in Spain will just be to outdo one another, and Pogba outdoes the lot.

I fully expect them to bid, just an opinion.

It's embarrassing to read.

The amount of times the deal has been "off" to some in here after something was posted on Twitter is hilarious.

I seriously believe that RM is in the mix now. Perez ego just can't take loosing out on this one.

And actually, I'm not too bothered. With the same amount we can sign two other players and probably be just as well off. (no I dont have any targets in mind, but Jose does.)

He's not going to come out and flat out say Pogba is coming.

This deal is done. Be patient. It's a world record transfer. It can't be done in just 1 day.

He also isnt going to confirm other clubs are in the race if it is done. There are 2 options as he said, and he thinks one of them wil sign. Pogba and Matuidi/Matic i bet

Watch the interview.

Comments don't tell the full story.

United will do their usual. Get close, dither, miss out. It's the United way
Hang on a sec. I thought a trusted source had told you that Mourinho had nixed this deal! Maybe we're not dithering. If we don't sign him, won't it be cos we've withdrawn from it?!

;)

If you actually watch the interview on the BBC it only makes the deal appear closer tbh
Maybe I'm just negative minded but I thought thw opposite. He said he wouldn't be surprised if Pogba (obviously didnt name him, but made it obvious) wasn't the player they signed in that position

Have ppl forgotten we did get RvP, Mata and Di Maria? Back then those were seen as big / important / exciting transfers and two of them broke the club record and two of them came from our league rivals.
All I read here is that we never got a big signing in the past.

I think it depends on if Real really do need to sell to be able to buy him.
If thats the case they they'd have to sell Morata or James quickly and buying clubs would know that

SSHHH that wasnt said, so it gets ignored ;)

James is staying.

Morata in all likelihood is staying too.

In case of Morata there is Chelsea who have bid twice and would take him.

Expect people will still be scared of Real signing him even when he's playing the opening game of the season for us.
No. They will be then scared that Madrid will come in 3 years and try to sign him. They'll be scared those whole 3 years.
And for Martial too. They'll ask themselves when will Madrid come to take him away.

I don't understand the people at Juventuz, the forum. They're pissed off at United trying to sign Pogba, but have no problem if Madrid or Barca eventually signs him? What mentality is that?
Because of the woes of the last few years, they see us as an inferior team (no CL, not challenging for titles) so they don't see why top players would want to leave them for us. They see it as a step down. They might be right at this moment but the flaw is that we do see ourselves as a top team and this is part of a plan to get us back where we think we belong. We're financially strong enough to overpay to do that.

I wasn't Wumming. I heard the info and thought people would appreciate my sharing. A mistake I won't make on here again, I promise. No more "itk" me.

The info seems to have been wrong at the time, but there's still a chance he does cancel it. Which will maybe make me think there was doubt in his mind the whole time

It's a Soccer Mom's convention in here, does no one recall Fergie's interview scathingly dismissing Veron being sold, only for it to happen 2 days later? Jose wasn't going to come off desperate or like we have all our eggs in one basket.

This basically.

 It's been great fun to read this thread. From happiness to despair. I hope for the sake of your health he signs, because as Jose says, there's no big deal if he doesn't, United will have someone else lined up who do the job.

Think it was mentioned earlier, there wasn't any competition for those three, only City.

In case of Morata there is Chelsea who have bid twice and would take him.
But if they knew Real desperately needed the money would they bid the exact same they got rejected at, or would they push their luck and take advantage of the situation?

Of course this is all based of IF Real had to sell to buy

We need to hurry up and finalise this now that Gomes, (who I'm assuming, along with Matuidi) was our second option of the three mentioned. We are running out of options and Madrid's interest might be a lot stronger in Pogba now that they let Gomes slip.
