Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

If Juve have an asking price instead of flat out refusing then this is as good as done.

From Di Marzio article:

It is getting serious. The negotiation between Juventus and Manchester United for Paul Pogba has officially begun. It was a face-to-face meeting between the clubs today, and the first offer has been tabled. United's Executive Vice President Ed Woodward was present for United, as was Pogba's agent Mino Raiola. Representing Juventus: club executives Marotta and Paratici. 101 million euros was the first offer (higher fee than it cost for Real to buy Bale, so potentially already the biggest transfer fee ever).

It appears that Pogba is leaning towards agreeing to a move to England, thanks in part to the enormous salary (13 million euros net of taxes) offered to the player. Juventus seems to understand Pogba's motives, which could demonstrate the club's reasoning behind the serious consideration of United's offer, without actually accepting.

In the next few days, Juventus will likely be submitting a counter-offer of up to 120 million euros, plus bonuses tied to Pogba's future output and future contracts. Raiola's role in the deal could also be another aspect to consider between the clubs. At this point, it seems only to be a question of fees and prices. Juventus is digesting for the first time for real that Pogba could be leaving, and choosing Manchester United. But no question that this is a serious effort for United to land Paul Pogba.

Welcome home Paul.

Now let's get back to the top.

If we pull this off, it'd be amazing. Forget the money, it would be proper statement of intent.

So Juventus will table a counter offer of €120m in the next few days. That's great. The clubs aren't too far apart now. Should be wrapped up within the next week or so.

Key points from Di Marzio!

When it's ball it's ball. Anyway it sounds better in Croatian but in the sense that if the difference is 20 mil just get it done.

I think by Thursday we will get a full answer on this whether Pogba is joining us or not.

I think you need to Google the definition of a bigot.

I will let you do that and then inform us all how google defines bigoted. It isn't meant as an insult. It is a point of fact, based on an opinionated observation yes, but still a point of fact. Attaching to the belief or opinion that Pogba is not worth the investment with no real solid reason other than simply "I don't want him" or "He's not worth it" or "There are better out there for one third of the cost" is pretty close to a dictionary definition of bigoted.

Welcome home Paul.

We realise we fecked up by letting him go and are showing in the best possible way to Pogba, that we know it by paying a world record fee to bring him home. There's something special about that.

Just imagine what we could have done if we'd got Mourinho in sooner, it breaks my heart a little bit. Three years wasted.

At least off the pitch things are coming together now finally.

I hope that what's being reported is true. 120 million is a hell of a lot of money. If we put a buyout clause of about 200 million in his contract I'm sure Real will come knocking eventually anyway.

101M but want 120M PLUS add-ons, you're having a laugh, 120M is enough without add ons.

Would rather chase Messi if Juve want add ons.

Think its on. If its true they will ask for 120m then whats an added 16m when we want to spend 104m anyway. It'll happen as long as Pogba accepts. Crazy stuff really when you think about it, how we were a few years ago to now. Its like Fergie was the glue that kept football "normal" to a degree and since he has retired, all spending has gone mad.

I've been avoiding this thread for a while for obvious reasons. Am I right in saying tonight's news is the first real concrete progress in weeks?

I think this time next week he has been a United player for a few days.

I feel like we have been "opening talks in the coming days" for at lesst a month

Lol. That's what I thought.
In fact, last week when we were "preparing a bid", I thought we'd already made a bid and were almost finished with talks.
A week later apparently, we are still preparing a bid.

I think by Thursday we will get a full answer on this whether Pogba is joining us or not.
Hopefully. Then even if he rejects, at least then United have over a month to re-strategise (sp) and get a new target

Worst thing would be repeating the Ramos mistake and letting ourselves get rejected in late August leaving us with nothing

Its negotiations, what they are asking for and what they finally agree to are likely to be different.
