Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

If it wasn't for the euros we would have our man already. Guys just wait until Pogba gets back from his holidays and until then it will be done. We can't let him come and sign the deal then go back on holiday with the world record transfer fee just broken. Imagine the amount of nonstop coverage he will get. Let him enjoy his holidays then we will get him.

Most likely, we will use a Fax machine at some point.
It still boggles the mind why antiquated equipment is being used, in 2016.

It'd be the equivalent of 2 sides going to war, using muskets.
Then some bright spark asks both sides, "Guys, we have automatic machine guns now, why are you all using muskets".
And the warring sides then scratching their heads.

Don't know if it's true but i think i remember reading somewhere that some companies still prefer to use Fax for sensitive documents with the theory being it's less likely to be intercepted, sent to the wrong inbox or forwarded on to people it shouldn't be etc.

But yeah if we do still use a Fax machine it's strange, you would think a company the size of United would have a secure way of transferring e-mails.

So, MUFC have not even made a bid yet. Hmmmm....
I thought we'd already made a £100M+ bid and Juve were mulling it over.

Whats their to talk about if we are not bidding. I dont know what an 'official' bid entails but id assume we are currently discussing the price.

The Law and Finance industries still utilise fax machines a lot - They are probably keeping the Fax machine alive. So you can bet, the lawyers etc drafting these contracts and bids are just using something they are used to.

This reminds me so much of the Vidal transfer saga. And I'm beginning to think it's gonna end in the same way as well. With nothing, no clarification whatsoever.

The way I see it if he was to come...
...............Gk...............
...........Defence...........
Schn/Pog...Carrick/Basti.....
Mata/mhk..Roo/Pog/Her....Dep/Mart
............Ibra/Roo/Rash.......

Good competition if Pogba does come and some players will be unhappy but there's healthy competition for places I'm not a big fan of Mata but if he stays I can't see him playing behind the striker only out right.

 Is that a real quote? Kinda makes those reliable journos look a little stupid, claiming Juventus wouldn't accept and that we didn't even bid yet for their director to confirm he's off the same day.

Hence "we have prepared"?
"We have prepared eventual replacements", then yes, "We have prepared for eventual replacements".. I don't know. English isn't my strong suit, and translators have a heavy job.

Thought Bonucci was staying ? Hope he doesn't go to City.
Pogba will be the 'he wanted to go' fall guy and Bonucci will be their 'we put our foot down and said no because we're such a big club' example.

:)

If Bonucci goes to City I wouldn't mind because we would have Pogba. I couldn't care less for our rivals.

Lets talk Pogba. The tragedy of my life is not that my girlfriend won't let me do butt stuff until I marry her, it's not that she doesn't like BJs like my ex did, no, it's that I live in Japan so I can't go watch United live.
But I watch on tv every weekend, even when LVG gave us philosophy. So I only watched Pogba on those few occasions that Alex gave him and Morrison a look in.
He wasn't great.

Is this because he was young, or is it a Depay or Damian thing, where he is a world beater in one league but shit in another ? What do you who watched him live think?

He's shown numerous times for Juventus he is a top player who if is managed correctly and works hard enough could be one of the best, if not the best.

Young and not in the best form or frame of mind. That's how I remember it now.

Midfielders are certainly capable of commanding high fees. Zidane broke the transfer record when he moved to Madrid. Furthermore, there's no magical rule that says high transfer fees can only be considered for attackers. What matters in the end, is the perceived valuation of the player by both the buying and selling clubs.

Zidane was the best midfielder in the world at the time, and arguably the greatest player of all time. Pogba isnt a patch on Zidanes level and probably never will be.

If Pogba was a consistent performer it might help me understand, but he wasn't even that in the last season.

That doesn't matter - its how he is perceived at this particular stage of his career that creates his valuation. As de Brun said earlier, we're not paying for how good Pogba is now (which is already very good), we're paying for how good he will be in the future.

Wasn't Zidane in his late 20s and already the finished article when he moved? Totally different story for Pogba. We'd be getting him at an even earlier age than Ronaldo was when he moved to Madrid.

Zidane was 29 and went for £46mil years ago. Pogba's game reminds me a bit of Zidane actually, i hope he becomes half the player Zidane was.
I know people keep sayoing this but i don't get why some people are mad at the price, we can obviously afford it and i doubt it will have any effect on future transfers so what difference does it make?. I think people are just pissed off that we let him go for nothing and now have to pay so much to get him back, which is fair enough i suppose.

I don't care. You don't care.
Let's hope Pogba doesn't care.

That's what worries me. The pressure to perform might be too high for the youngster.

Pogba: "That was a great game! Yes, definitely! Did you see that pass? Gonna make headlines!"

Eventual article: "Ferrari drives like a Ferrari finally. But did you see that Ford? Whooaaaw!"

 how sweet that you're concerned for the guy's state of mind. I don't think you understand the mentalities of top level sportsmen, however. Sounds like no one is worried (including Pogba, evidently, if he chooses to sign for us) except you tbf

But we are literally the only club that perceives him to be worth 120million. If he really was worth that much, there would be other suiters. It just so happens that both of Real and Barcelonas midfield is superior to him, whilst Chelsea /City don't perceive him to be worth such a silly amount.

For 100m, I'd expect the finished article, bearing today's market in mind. I respect your opinion though, because valuation is subjective. I think the difference is just that you see him as a cert. World Great whereas I have my doubts.

I think it's just your memory, to be honest. He was obviously very young at the time, but he was good. Off the top of my head, he came on against Athletic Bilbao and played well, his game against Stoke was another good cameo too. I think Fergie brought him on as a CB against Leeds too but he wasn't much involved.

There's a reason the caf was in uproar when he left and it's not because of his u21 performances. When he was in the u21s a lot on here preferred Petrucci.

There are other suitors; specifically the only other club willing to pay a world record fee for a player. In this case, they don't want to break their own transfer record, whereas we don't seem to mind.

The state of that car.

Understandable if you're a Glazer or a major shareholder. 99% of us shouldn't give two fecks about it.

The sooner we get the Paul Pogba and James Rodríguez transfers wrapped up the better, I'm getting impatient now.
Pogba will be completed in a week and a half and we aren't going for Rodriguez. We will only be buying players who might not necessarily be in the first time but fringe players. We will only buy these players as more players are sold e.g if we sold Valencia we will buy a RB.

I quite like Mourinhos strategy here. Buy the spine - Bailly, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Ibra. Then surround it with core players - De Gea, Smalling, Shaw, Martial. Then piece together the other players that will fit into their positions e.g Schniderlin at DM.

Rodriguez won't be part of our nucleus if we were to buy him which is why I don't think we will.

I dont think so with James either, Marca prints what RM say theyll do anything to save face and push James out.

Maybe it's memory. Over the years, the young ones I have backed haven't been great. I though Rodrigo Possebon, Ravel Morrison, welbeck, Kean the defender, Chris Eagles!!! Were ganna be world beaters.

For anyone who missed De Brun's Periscope earlier today, its well worth a watch (from 2:00 onwards)

The man is clearly connected to the club and knows what he's talking about which I can't say for many people on Twitter. His assurance on Pogba joining United is what strikes me and he calls his source exceptional which helps.
