Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Is there a reason why Madrid pulled out of the deal? I thought Madrid was his first choice and Zidane admires him.
Did you miss the news from sky about how they can't compete finacially with United for Pogba

Woody flopped his placid cock on the table and Real promptly backed out the deal. They were not ready for the erection. A wise decision.

why are you glad Real are out of it?
I wasn´t especially excited for the signing.A good adition but I didn´t like several things about Raoila statements or the price of the player.I also didn´t like the idea of losing Kroos and Pogba instead Casemiro is not realistic.I prefer to spend in other positions
Who would you rather/think the money will be spent on by Madrid this summer?
I read about Alaba since he can play in several positions.I like the idea.I suppose that they will try to spend in some attacking player too.
Do you have a soft spot for United?
Not a soft spot but nothing against.I definitely prefer the top player in the historical clubs and well, writing here is good to see posters being happy :)
Yeah, made no sense for Real to go after him apart from wanting the shiny new toy on the market. Pogba will be worth a lot more to us then he would have been worth to Madrid so it did not make sense for you lot to go against us in a bidding war.
Agree

I don´t know, I guess we will know in a few days but I think that the price was the main reason

Rooney has proven in his career that he has those attributes and can play the number 10 role. A fit and firing Rooney is still a great player that provides a team with much needed goals and assists. As I've said numerous times, everyone will be in for a shock if they think Rooney isn't first name on the team sheet.
Rooney was a great player, but he is done mate. He plays like a 35 year old washed up player now & starts huffing and puffing in the 2nd half. Rooney thrived on his sheer drive, energy and aggression to score goals. He has lost all of those qualities now unfortunately.

Juventus need to get on with this and accept it.

You were just the side-chick!! We were always his main-chick!!! Side-chicks need to know their place.
This belongs in the cringeworthy thread.

Agree with @carvajal, from a Madrid perspective Pogba wouldn't make much sense so I can see why he's not fussed about "missing out". For us though it makes a lot of sense.

You've clearly never listened to a single RNB song, old man. Install itunes!
I'm 25. I know exactly what side chicks and main chicks are. It's still cringeworthy. And who still uses iTunes??

Waiting for Ballague's next tweet.

#Pog wanted #Real not #mangychesterUshited but #gloriousPerez doesn't like wasting money and #Juvenpuss wouldn't do what they were told and lower their demands. #Pog now on suicide watch now his dream is crushed, but #GiantPenisReal also didn't want him to begin with. They wanted to invite #PeterCrouch to the Prom dance all along, so they give permission to #C*ntingUnited to approach #Pog. #MyDadCouldBeatUpYourDad #StoneRosesAreShit #FeckJuventus

I doubt they can afford it with FFP? Also, I don't think Pep is too keen.

City could afford him, but from what I've read they've decided his fee and wages are too excessive to be worth pursuing, given he'd take a substantial chunk of our budget when other players are still needed. I think if we were going to sign him it would have happened last summer. Not that Pep or the club would not like to have him in an ideal world.

We shall see but I think he will be first name on the team sheet still this season.

Would be great if we could slip Mata in as a part of the deal as some sources have been reporting. He'd bring down the cost by €25-30m and get a player in high wages off the books.

Makes no difference as we'll still get that money for him from another club.

Nope. Jose will see that Ibra is a better striker, and Pogba + another midfielder offer more than Rooney as a #10.

His #10s have been Sneijder, Ozil, and Oscar. Rooney is nowhere close to those three as a pure #10

Oscar? Come on!

Interesting. Don't really care what fee we sign him for, if United decide they can afford it they can. They're also not stupid enough to seriously hamper any future spending in the next transfer window or two by blowing it all on one player either.

Comercially, Pogba will make a chunk of it back, through sponsors, merchandise etc and if he helps us back into the CL he'll pay off a big chunk of that fee again. Lastly, he's of an age that if we decide to sell him on in a couple of years, we'd probably break even on him at least.

Playing wise & the Rooney question - I wouldn't be suprised to see.Rooney up his game quite significantly in a team with better players around him. He has been largely slow and awkward over the last 18 months, but with the new players around him I think a bit of the pressure will be off. And is he doesn't perform, Mou will have no issue dropping him either.

Ultimately, in Utd's current position, worth the gamble.

What's PSG's stance in all this?

They could probably out price us in fee and wages. Plus 2 other positives of having champions league and it's his home nation.

I would imagine their net equity is higher. How much debt do they have? Where did you get these numbers mate?
It was in someone's post in this thread - can't find it now the way this thread moves

I know many people think the transfer fee is excessive. In isolation, I 100% agree with this. However, this possible transfer is a watershed moment for the next 5-10 years. Whether people here like to admit it or not, we're definitely on a downward spiral in terms of relevance. But if we break the transfer record and sign the hottest available property in the game, we're showing that we still sitting at the top table - and fighting to be the head.

As a result, I feel we looking to smash the record to also send out a message. In today's market, what's a more realistic sum for signing one of the best talents from a European giant? £60m? £70m? By pushing the deal up to £100m, we're foregoing (in theory) a £35m player - a Fellaini? A Mata? A Depay? In truth, the sending out of a strong statement and possibly bullying the like of Madrid is worth more to us right now than one of these players.

Think Pogba's camp have been pretty vocal in that they'll only move to a bigger league.

I guess they will be a few of these comments over the next few days, especiallyfrom bitter scousers!
