Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

There'll be no midfielders left soon because they all want to play further forward.

Well thats the thing.. finding proper midfielders like a Modric is not easy. Probably the hardest thing to find in modern day football. . its why Verratti for me is the hardest player to sign but someone who is worth his weight in gold.

My feelings exactly. I want him here but he's worth nowhere close to that amount and it's not just because of money, it's because he isn't as good as he's made out to bei. I'd also add CMs that absolutely run games to that list btw. The Modrics of this world.

No, but he's the big name just seem determined to sign, us relishing in paying a world record fee for him, just hope he can come close to justifying it given time.

Guys. I admit I have not seen so much of Pogba since he has been at Juve, only when the champions league matches are on, or now at the Euro's. When I have seen him, he just doesnt seem to stand out for me. For the reported 100m I would expect to be signing a guy who completely dominates matches. So what kind of midfielder is he?

Does he dominate games physically like a Keane or Vieira?
Can he control a match like a Scholes, Xavi, Pirlo
Can he ignite a spark like a Zidane, Iniesta type?

What kind of midfield player is he?

Pogba looks like a fish out of water so far, not worth £100m. Hope Madrid ram stam ahead and sign him.

I have not seen a single game of him where has lived up to the hype. I don't think that he is currently world record fee material. The only midfielder in the world worth it IMO is Verratti.

Don't get why United should pay that amount of money. For 120 million € we can get Matuidi and Griezmann which would suit us better. Want Griezmann so much at United, he is top class.

True.

Though I think it's a willingness more than anything. Pogba is capable of being an all rounder. Not sure if he has the desire to be one though.

It's YouTube hype.

Since no one, not even most Italians, watch the Shity A, no one can see how average he is.

Heck, Rashford looks world class in his 3 fecking mins of highlights, and we all know he's barely average right now.

I'm done with Pogba. Muppets can't have me. I was never really all that happy. Jose has we about as happy as possible. PogOFF!

I haven't watched the match but if Pogba's playing shit it must be because he has his mind on a transfer to United.....

Seriously though I'm sure he has been scouted on many, many occasions for the club to deem him worth a world record bid. Plus he is still incredibly young for a CM and will get better. I know we expect an instant £100m player but we would need to let him develop at his own pace. In 2-3 years he could become untouchable in CM. Remember at the same age Zidane was still relatively unknown at Bordeaux

I am definitely going to see the 120 Million Pogba playing today. Well, that's what i thought when i decided to watch the game.

How many more times will you disappoint me? It's been quite a few times now..

Nope, he gets more of a free role for Juve then he does for France, you will get the best out of him in a 4-3-3 not a no6 in a 4-2-3-1

I wouldn't say 'free role' but he needs more freedom that he has in this system.

4-3-3 is definitely how he should be played to allow him to get to the edge of the area where he is dangerous with his passing and long range shooting

Being stuck in his own half without the ball as a no6 will make him look average because he is not the most disciplined player in the world

Delighted with how Pogba is playing :)

Just a shame they scored

That one for me, capeable of providing the unexpected through a bit of magic or athletic prowess in the top half of the pitch, the thing is.. he has the tools to play a 6 or an 8, which is where he's playing today, but he's not put it together yet. I don't think he'll turn into a true dominant box to box player, hes too economic with his running for me.

Judging players on international tournaments, especially in one where his team struggled to touch the ball usually isn't wise.

Thanks for the reply Benny

Pogba is being closed down by 3 players as soon as he touches the ball. Clearly DD needs to devise a better plan to free him up like Kroos is doing by playing as "10" but operating as a 6/8. This is not all Pogbas fault. This is also to do with tactics.

All Ive seen from Pogba is safe passing, nothing out of the ordinary at all. A French Cleverley.

If Real Madrid where in for Mkhitaryan, Bailly or Zlatan the chances are that they would like to play for Real. DDG wants to play for them. If you asked most players in the world they would want to play for them. So you are saying we shouldn't sign and players that want to play for them so just buy average one that will never have the ability to?
Of course Real Madrid have the greater pull. They have had it since the beginning. However, we have also had a strong pull for many players because of our successes.

Nowadays, we are not as successful, but you can still see how our new signings have shown the willingness to play under Mourinho and possibly be part of a successful era. Ibra could have gone pretty much anywhere. He could have stayed at PSG, but he chose us. Miki wanted to desperately leave Dortmund and join us because of the excitement of playing under Mourinho and this club. Both Ibra and Miki left the Champions League to join us.

Pogba has shown no such signs. In fact, everything the media has reported has been the opposite, and the only reason we currently have strong links is because of our money. Otherwise, there is no chance the links would have become this strong.

The bad thing is that I can see him joining us for let's say 3 or 4 years and than fecking off to Madrid when he is a world beater after we spend 120 Mio Euro for an average to good player. I don't get the Pogba hype. Yeah he is good but nowhere near 120 Mio good. Griezmann would have been the best choice imo, but it's to late for this now.

He's playing safe passes today as the french are asking him to specficially play the deeper role, but thats not his usual game.

Only a real game changer and ridiculously good goal scorer should be worth anything like that amount, Pogba is fantastic at times but he's neither of those really, still want him though but shame it can't be for a bit less.

This. For that amount we should be looking at a player in the Bale mould. I rarely watch Juve in Serie A but what I've seen of him in CL and on NT he rarely performs at a level the price quoted requires.

Surely we're not going to spend £100M on this guy?! For that money the player needs to be consistently brilliant. Can anyone honestly say this describes Pogba?
No way is he worth this crazy money.

He's 23, so he's obviously still a lot of development ahead. It's an investment, just as it was with Martial. Pogba is older and more the finished article as a player but he's still far from done. Why are you and others so concerned about what United, an insanely rich business spend? It seems weird to me.

He is still only 23 to be fair. Jesse bloody Lingard's age.

So no facts then? His agent said a while ago that United, real, psg were all Interesting prospects. Nobody from his camp have said anything only "reports' like most of the transfer gossip.

If he agrees to come it's because he wants to as he isn't being force out of Juventus. Why can he not be joining us because of the excitement of playing under Mourinho and this club plus a shed load of cash.

This. They're looking for reasons to justify why he isn't worth the money, playing a deeper role for France, a role he's not accustomed to against a German team that isn't giving France a sniff isn't really wise. The club is rich, they will make money back from sponsors, inc fans, publicity etc. from the signing, whilst getting a top, potential world class player.

United are still a club (and a business) that at the end of the day are run on sweat, not oil, we cant write off 100mill as if it was mere peanuts like a PSG or whomever could, if we spend that much, who knows how much the Glazers will give us next summer to spend if we need a new no.9, or 10 or we still have an extensive shopping list.
We'd be grossly overpaying here in Pogba's case, lets be fair, thats why some have issues with 100mill.

I just think that £100M could be better invested. If Pogba was utterly brilliant I wouldn't care about the fee. But right now for that kind of money, and with our current situation, I expect whomever we make a big investment in to come in and tear up the place instantly. Also, how do we know he can handle being the £100M player? That fee will bring all sorts of added pressure to perform at a high level consistently.
