Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Would Perez accept not having the most expensive transfer in history? Think the cnut might jump in.

Everyone on Juventuz are calling Di Mario click bait and they're convinced Pogba is staying, that poor place when he signs for Real, it'll explode!

I just had a look at that thread and noticed this at the bottom:

Can't be a good omen for them!

I think 120 mio € are far to much money for him, I know it is not my money, but still insane. The market exploded, it is crazy.

I have not really followed this thread so is this really more than a rumour?

If there is a Chance to get him I say let`s go whatever it will cost. For me he should be our number one target.
His presence would give us an enormous boost on the field.

Don't understand why anyone, United fan or not, has a problem with the fee. It's not your money. With the utterly mental TV deal coming in to play, fees were so obviously going to get sillier. Deal with it.

Because it's obscene and the money in the game (specifically the English game) is completely ruining football.

Their Pogba thread is hilarious. It is basically them scrabbling around for reasons why Pogba wouldn't want to leave them and why he wouldn't want to go to United.

I hope he leaves, even if he goes to Madrid, just to see the fallout there.

True, but has that not been the case for some time? And would you rather buy average players than spending just so you can stick to your principles?

"Ruining" football? What? There has been an obscene amount of money in football for years. Surely if football was going to be ruined by money then it's already happened.

I think if you spend 120 million on a player, he should be the best or amongst the best few players in the world. He isn't.

Just been on SSN saying Pogba has told Madrid he want to go there.

I think his friends text him to tell him that. And he's very well respected on Mardid forums.

Its his first choice, it depends whether they will pay 120 euros for him plus 13m euros a year in wages

In terms of marketing etc etc we NEED to go after the best.

Nobody wants to sponsor a side with"good" players, they want to be associated with marketable players who make a difference.

As much as we all hate the way football has gone the reality is that sponsorships etc pay for players and keep the whole carousel spinning.
Ridiculously untrue! Where have you been when we've been unveiling a partner for every bloody aspect of the club known to man over the past couple of years, when our squad hasn't been great at all? We've even broke sponsorship records with Adidas and I believe Chevrolet too! Not to mention we have an official noodle partner

I agree with you in general, but clubs like United, Barca, Real are an exception to that.

He arguably is, or will be very soon. When you factor in his age, you're not only buying for now, you're buying for the future too.

I can't believe people are against this potential deal, i'm baffled.

This sounds a bit wrong, but I hope he has a stinker against Germany tonight, and in the final should they progress.

My worry is that if he puts in a man of the match performance Madrid will almost feel compelled to buy him.

They haven't had a shiny new toy for a while.

And? It's obscene because it's tremendously successful. You are 'guilty' yourself if you've ever paid anything for Premier League/Man United merchandise. Do you understand that consumers, ie us, fund the Premier League? The money is literally a direct result of it's success, I don't even understand your criticisms. It's not just football, many other sports have obscene amounts of money. If you're so offended by the amount of money in a consumer-driven industry, you should protest by never purchasing or in fact watching the premier league. Otherwise, accept that the money will flow. We have enough people attempting to be morally upright by criticising money in sports (not suggesting you are, but I've seen this criticism too many times).

And this is what this transfer is really all about isn't it? We need the biggest name to show that we're still at the top table and to keep the sponsors happy. I've no issue with the fee that's being bandied about - as others have said, the club can afford it, and it's not coming out of my pocket!

I'd be happier though if the player concerned wasn't one who, if he arrives, we'll know from the off would rather have been going somewhere else, and who'll be looking for the exit door from the minute he walks in - or even one who spends a little less time strolling around the pitch in a 'really can't be arsed with this' sort of way.

No matter though, it'll keep the execs at Adidas happy for a while, which is the main thing after all.

I don't know why you specifically point out the English game, when Spanish clubs are going at it at the same rate, with the added use of nefarious means to bend around systems.

In his position he is one of the best. He was in the World Team of the Year in January. Only Verratti comes close, in my opinion, and PSG would want even more than €120 million for him. We're paying for a player who has a decade or more left at the top and who will get better in the next few years.

From 1996 to 1999 the transfer record fee doubled. If we consider the market at the moment and the Bale, James and Suarez fees a few years ago, it's not completely ridiculous to pay €120 million for Pogba.

£80 million, £90 million, £100 million, what does it matter? If the club can afford the fee then who cares? If Mourinho wants to rebuild our midfield around Pogba then the club should do what's necessary to get him.

That being said I am not optimistic about signing Pogba. We are Man Utd, we are the biggest club in Britain and maybe the world, and we have a very special manager. We are not in the European Champions League though, and reports suggest we are not Pogba's first choice. Its not beyond the pale to imagine Madrid will sell Kroos and James Rodriguez and use the proceeds to buy Pogba. I will only believe this one if and when Pogba signs on the dotted line.

I see some parallels between this transfer and when James Rodriguez signed for Madrid after the last World Cup. Neither player is/was inherently worth that much money but they probably are in terms of marketability and commercial revenue.

I can imagine signing Pogba would be Woodward's wet dream.

I wouldn't worry about whether he puts in a good performance. Minds are already made up over at Madrid. I think the lure of Madrid will be too great for Pogba and there is the Zidane factor as well.

I'll be gutted if they get him for less than what we put up. No way Madrid pay him 12.5 million a year.

My whole enjoyment so far in this saga has to be watching rival fans cry.
I'm also enjoying the redcafe moaners cry and scamper for reasons why we shouldn't buy one of the best young mids in the world. highly entertaining aswel
