Paul Pogba / turned down United offer of 300k as “nothing”

The one person who will benefit the most from leaving is Pogba after wasting most of his prime under average clueless managers.

1. Get Varane
2. Sell Pogba, sell Lingard. Get your £65-70M. The club can also sell James if they want.
3. Sign Trippier for £15-18M
4. Now, that PSG has Pogba and Real don't want to spend, buy Camavinga for £25-30M
5. Buy another CDM/CM in the region of £30-40M (Bissouma, Neves, Saul etc). Ideally, of course it has to be ball-playing CDM who is also strong physically and can cover defence.

Is that too much to ask?

I find him a very average player with a good long shot.
Fair enough. Am a huge fan though. What other options do we have ? Saul would be good but quite average on ball, camavinga doesn't want to join us, Goretza is using us for a new contract.

People say Grealish, but it's going to the be the same issue as Pogba. Where would he play?

If Pogba goes we will have to replace him, and we will still need a DM. So we should be prepared for this and have somebody lined up now.

McFred currently exist because

a- Neither of them is good enough thus we need 2 to make a 1 man job
b- Defence is weak
c- VDB has yet to settle down
d- Pogba can't play in a deeper role unless he's got a Kante covering his arse

Now we're set to sign Varane who'll improve our defence greatly andVDB is slowly settling down. If we replace Pogba with a complete player who is more defensively sound (ex Locatelli or De Jong) then I think we'll be fine

We don’t have time for all this. We need to prepare the bids properly!

I’d sell him for that price. He’s been here for awhile now and is still an odd fit

Phwoar. That's at least 5 transfer windows worth of work there, considering the pace which we move at.

We'll be a worse team without him this season so for that reason I'd keep him and let him go for free next summer. I honestly think with Sancho, Varane, a cdm and maybe Trippier, with pogba staying we could win the title this season.

Makes you wonder whether Pogba will have regrets at the end of his career. He will have his millions and all, but with that fat slob of an agent he'll never be a legend at any club. Just a good player that chased money.

Thats my issue with selling him, I dont trust United to have lined up anything.
I think the majority of us are in the same boat. We accept Pogba will probably leave and it makes sense to get cash for him now. That obviously leaves a hole but signing a first class DM, removing the overloading with McFred and having the creative addition of Sancho could leave us in a reasonable position.

The manager needs to define exactly what the new midfield should look like. We have one piece for sure and there are signs our recruitment has improved but there is an awful lot still to bring together that went unanswered last season. Managing the Pogba replacement will be the key to our season

Talent and loads of money aside, not sure why he would want to go to Paris at 28 and still near his peak. Even Varane who has won it all didn't want to go to play in Ligue one

I also get the feeling that he really never felt the warmth and love from the United fans, and probably was always made the first scapegoat whenever United loses a match. He'll be adored in Paris where his performances week in week out won't be much scrutinised

Coming back here was always risky. He was never going to a legend here unless he produced Ballon D'Or quality consistently. Unfortunately, he just isn't that quality.

He is a quality player and to me he is more talented and more technical than Bruno. But he doesn't fit to our system because we keep playing him in midfield or winger which two different positions, he's currently on his final year on his contract and I'm also sick with the drama about Pogba. Move on. Well, I keep repeating this because I somehow read a poster said people want him out because he's not good enough or whatever for different reason on the previous pages. Hope you read this! It's only because he's on his final contract and because there is uncertainty that he can fit to our system.

Would you make that same argument for Kane (if he moves)? Or van persie? Or virtually any top player that moves clubs?
He’s won four Serie A titles plus a World Cup amongst others. If anything his mistake was to join Man Utd, not to leave them.

I'd probably like Pogba to stay... but we can't keep him this season if he won't sign a new deal. I'd be saying to him and his agent, "here's the offer...but if you don't want to sign then we would like you to find another club in this window because if you don't, you won't be playing for us this season".

People who have the psychological issue that he has employ a certain stratagem to avoid those thoughts.

Said stratagem is very close in spirit to ‘he needs Kante next him’ ‘the club didn’t surround him with better players’, etc.

That's too many big days!

If he isn't going to sign a new deal then just get rid of him, it's really simple.

I think the most logical course of action would be to sell Pogba for 50M Pounds and sign Camavinga for 35M and Saul/Aouar for another 20M/25M Pounds. This way we strengthen all of our weak areas. We needed RW for years and found the best young talent available.

We needed a reliable CB with pedigree and class alongside Maguire and hopefully we sign Varane. The only missing jigsaw is our CM which is shambles as compared to other areas. Not only that we deploy two midfielders to perform the task of one, as neither Fred/MCtominay are solid alone defensively, none of them can control the midfield and it results in, us becoming a counter attacking side against anybody half decent and puts unnecessary pressure on our defense.

Aouar/Saul will help us with controlling aspect, whereas Camavinga will make us solid defensively. I think the following team is a title winning side:

DDG
AWB/Tripper Varane Maguire Shaw
Camavinga Saul
Sancho Bruno Rashford/Martial
Cavani

I really hope Paul gets a transfer to PSG. I don't care about his hairdo.

Pogba for €60m is a bargain for PSG. Milk them. €70m-€80m would be decent business for both parties.

Camavinga and Saul will cost us 40m-50m euros a pop.

We aren't going to sign 2 CM and honestly we don't need to. If we sign Varane and we sell Pogba then we don't need to rely on McFred anymore. All we have to do is add a complete midfielder (Locatelli, Camavigna or Saul would do) who'll give us the right balance in midfield for our stellar forward line

DM: Fred, McT
DLP: Locatelli/Camavigna/Saul, VDB
AMC: Bruno, Mata, Lingard,Mejbri

70m euros is good money.
I hope PSG formalise their interest. Would be good for us and a player I firmly believe has been unfairly treated. We need the money to reconstruct our midfield. PSG would be signing a hell of a player.

Not when he’s only got 1 year left on his contract. It’s a fair valuation and an offer I think the club should accept

We must also take in account the circus surrounding Pogba if we keep him. We'll have a player on huge salaries who'll refuse to get stuck in for fear of getting injured. Not to forget that we'll look like proper numpties having lost him twice for free.

Look it's all very well selling him. I think it's the right decision. However, it's only the right decision if we replace him. Imagine we let him go and then rely on what we have. Bruno and who? Lingard, Mata, Donny feck me.

If Pogba goes we need 2 midfielders and the CDM is still a massive priority for this team.

Would be so so saddened if Pogba does leave as he is my favourite player at the club and imo is our best player. Even though it appears we are making good strides with the Sancho signing and potentially with Varane coming in. Letting Pogba go takes us 1 step back as he is one of the best midfielders in the world and will be so hard to replace. We need to be building a strong squad to challenge for the league and not weaken it, but I understand with only 1 year left of his contract and if he does want to leave, it only makes sense to sell him this summer. IF we do let him go, we NEED to get in a Pogba replacement and a more defensive minded midfielder to come in and play as a number 6. Or else we could continue to see a lot of McTominay and/or Fred!

Varane is going for about £50m with only 1 year left of his contract, Pogba has the same length remaining, is the same age, is a better player and more marketable, so why is there talks about him going for only £40m?!?! I know we most likely won't get it but I'm hoping we still hold out for at least £60-£70m for him and that way providing we reinvest that into the squad we can use that to get in a replacement for him. £40m in today's market just buys you a bang average player and any top quality midfielder who has a few years left on his contract would cost you £70m+, unless they are English then it's £80m+!

I wouldn't mind Saul coming in to replace Pogba as I am a massive fan of his but as long as we also get in a quality number 6 and keep VDB as then we would still have enough quality depth in midfield.

This!

If Pogba goes, I'm almost certain his replacement won't be as good as Pogba so we have to make up for that by also getting in a top quality CDM. Also need to keep Donny!

I can’t see him resigning if we kept him - so I feel getting 50-60 million would be good business this summer.

All my years of watching football, I have never seen a midfielder as micro-analysed as Pogba.

He is expected to be Kante, Xavi and Yaya Toure all in one.

I fully agree with you. It's unreal how much micro-analysis goes into Pogba.

I expect to do his job properly, never seen a player so highly rated lose the ball so much in dangerous positions. It's happened for 5 seasons, he's a complete liability and he did it again for France at the euro's.

The cult of Pogba is very odd.
