Paul Pogba officially leaves Manchester United

His last bit of action at United was feigning injury against Liverpool as he didn't fancy it

Glad it's over. It felt like he was just being shoehorned into the side most of the time, we never found a proper position for him and he never proved it was worth building a team around with him.

Same here.

Surely he'll be given a statue outside the ground at some point? Have you watched his documentary, the man is a footballing genius. Light shines out of his arsehole.

Wonder who the new whipping boy will be next season?

Him and Lingard leaving on the same day? Its like all christmases coming at once

Good riddence. But I do wish we had signed a Kante, Fabinho type player in all these 6 years to accompany him in the midfield. 6 wasted years. Unimaginable at any other club half decent decision makers.

Team let him down some years, and there were years he let the team down.

Better off for him to leave. Allows us to get the media circus around him away from the club, which his performances never really justified dealing with.

Best of luck to him, where ever he ends up

Hope we play Juventus soon, Pogba deserves all the boos he will get.

Not good luck from me.

Good bye - and stay gone this time! Sorry, but for me he sums up just where United are at the moment. All mouth and no trousers, as they say. often threatened to be great but could barely string a run of good performances together

The social media team repeatedly posting about him and Lingard leaving, as if they were gods among men, is really grating.

Why are people so confused/outraged by this loyalty bonus, that's how contacts are structured. They will have loyalty bonus and they get paid every year they complete in many cases.

Yeah it's weird. They are still at it this morning, encouraging people to read both players' "emotional" farewell messages.

We signed matic for him. Who at the time was a top quality number 6, one of the best in the league.

Guess what, it didn't really make much difference to pogbas performances, still inconsistent capable of the outstanding and the awful at any moment.

Pogbas issue is his mentality, he thought he was the best ever at 18 and hasn't actually taken anything in since. He plays like he is still 18 making countless rookie mistakes but occansionaly showcasing his outstanding talent. That will always be his problem and why he will not be remembered as a great.

Never understood buying him. Was hopeful but very pessimistic. If Fergie was prepared to let him go for whatever reason, that was good enough for me.

This. In addition to getting sent off as a sub earlier in the season for what looked like a deliberate red card. Absolutely not the person you want to fight in the trenches beside you.

Best bit of business done by United for ETH is arguably getting rid of him from your dressing room. That man is full of himself thought he is Ronaldo but Ronaldo do the talking on the pitch about his worth unlike him.

Social media tiger but performance wise mostly cat on the pitch. Good riddance.

Best for both parties he moves on. It's not worked out how either party hoped it would, for various reasons.

All the best.

Just as overrated and overpriced as the English players that get pointed at by the fan base.

A 90 mil pound player with so many weaknesses.

Funny how the culling stopped yesterday after these two. Hopefully ETH wanted rid as soon as possible to bring some harmony back to the dressing room and weaken the influence of the stirrers still left behind.

It’s certainly interesting that the announcements were made a month before their contracts are up.

United effectively paid out the equivalent of £800,000 for each of his 226 appearances and tangible returns — the trophies and collective progress — have been negligible.

Bargain

Yay Richard Keys you chubby gorilla handed man!

Thank Pogba for his service? I think the millions we paid him to be a waste of space is more compensation than he deserved, the only thing I am thankful for when it comes to Pogba is that I will never see him play (well stand on the pitch and occasionally fall down and punch the floor) for utd again.

Pogba is worth more than that commercially. He is currently the only Adidas-approved player to be a poster boy for their contract with the club. Without proper replacement in that capacity, the Adidas deal will bring in around 10M less...

I'm in no position to demand anything. Just expressed my feelings that's all. I have long realized and accepted that there is a clear disconnect between the fanbase and the club tbh. They can do whatever the feck they want, I will always express my distate for it.
10 years at the club, twice leaving on free, openly disrespecting the club, not even once doing a self review of his own shortcomings. There is little to celebrate tbh, I appreciate the rare good moments but overall it's been disappointing
And I dont disagree that it was disappointing overall on the pitch but I disagree that just because it didn't end as both parties wanted he should he should be blanked thats it. By all accounts he was a well valued and respected figure in the club, still won a couple of trophies here even if minor ones etc .There are logical reasons for getting a sending off which is the point I was initially making, not just a positive PR spin.
Each to their own.

Feigning injury accusations still rife on RedCafe
Why hasn't he been called up to the French squad for internationals? Does he not fancy playing for them too?
