Recent Fabrizio Romano quote seems out of context and deliberately shit stirring.
I don't like Pogba at all, but his latest statement is harmless.
I think we should all volley abuse @ Romano for a cheap and dirty tweet.

Pogba: "French national team? It's a window that opens. I talk with Antoine [Griezmann] and Raphael [Varane], we realise that the group is great, and when we're on the field, we have fun. It's not that in the club we don't have fun, but here, it's not the same. We laugh. It's really a family, and the group we have, regulars or substitutes, it's really magical, and that's why we're happy to come to the selection. The coach has enormous confidence in us and we trust him too. That mental strength makes the difference. The substitutes, their seriousness and their professionalism, and their talent - they work hard and they don't complain. They really represent France. Like Adrien [Rabiot] and Kimpembe. It was a period I hadn't experienced in my career. I was used to playing and having rhythm. Now, I'm getting my sensations back, little by little, I am finding myself back. I have to put in performances like that [like against Portugal], be consistent."

Yeah nothing wrong with this. Im now with @Nou_Camp99 on this. Feck Romano

He really is.

Pogba could do what Matic is best at, easily. He’s willing to do what’s needed for France, he won’t do that here.

He wants Bruno’s role.

We don’t have to pretend he’s bang average in order to suggest he leaves.

Modern day fans are mental.
I’m not saying he’s average, he’s very good, but he’s horribly inconsistent. He hasn’t played well for a sustained period for nearly 2 years now.

He is inconsistent. I admitted that. He needs special treatment and a system and a supporting cast.

But he’s Special. He’s got the lot. Strong, fast, powerful, great technique, carries the ball, spots a pass, makes passes few can, great in the air, phenomenal first touch. The guy IS football.

He will not play his best football at United, so he should leave. My opening question was where he may play his best football. I still don’t know the answer.

He’d sure as Fcuk solve England’s DM problem on one leg. We’d win the Euros with him sitting in that pocket the way he often does for France.

So all the people that have abused Pogba today are you all going to retract your statements?
I'm waiting too. Apparently if you don't jump in the bandwagon criticism, you're a fanboi regardless of context. It's fecking crazy how those quotes have been blown out of proportion. It's fine to want him sold but this is childish

With fans like that, who needs enemies?

Next time we are on a lookout for a new signing we need to ensure that the psychological profile of potential candidates is 180° different to PP's.

He hasn't got the lot at all, hes missing the one key component, footballing intelligence.

It's why hes inconsistent, its why his game is still littered with the kind of mistakes you expect from youth players, it's why people say he needs a certain system or certain players round him, with his skill set he could play anywhere in any team, it's his intelligence that let's him down.

Technically and physically outstanding one of the best in the world.
Mentally, schoolboy level.

I'm glad at the option of him leaving.
I don't hate the guy, I'm just extremely disappointed.
I wouldn’t say I’m happy, but right now he’s not bringing what he used to. At one stage he was undroppable even if he had a bad game, now we can get away without him with Bruno.

if he doesn’t want to stay and he doesn’t regain his form then sell him and get in a proper CDM.

What was intentional about this? What gave Romano the right to misquote him?

I don't think those original quotes are far off. For some reason he is speaking very highly of his national team and explaining that he enjoys it more than the club, which is classic Pogba dig at the club when he is not having his best time there, it happens literally every time when his club form is shite. It's also even more ridiculous because his national team form is shite too, but for some reason he talks like it's great, judging by his comments.

With the sheer amount of debate a misquote of Pogba's words can create, it's no wonder reporters will do it. It's practically irresistible.

This latest episode is proof of that.

He goes out of his way to say its not a slight on the club ffs.

Honestly don’t think there’s ever been a player get so much criticism for being a fantastic team member.

Truth is some players have a knack for saying and doing the right things. They may not be the most technical, but they endear themselves to the fans. Some players let the football do the talking, they deliver consistently on the pitch, and even if the player is a bellend the fans can accept it. He'd be 'our bellend' . The problem is that Pogba is neither.

And let's not pretend he's faultless. He posted on Twitter in another clubs shirt to show solidarity with his friends who got covid. It's dumb. No one does that. His agent slagged the team, he's flirted with Real Madrid. If he was intentionally courting controversy it would have been hard to do a better job.

Because of some tweets in English? So far I haven't seen anything that would suggest otherwise.

I didn't abuse Pogba. I only translated what he said in French quoted directly from a French paper to English. Imo that should be much more solid than some tweets in English.

Italy is the best place for his style of play, no one really pressing, can have the time and space to look and play a pass.

He is the amongst the best talent, not sure if he is among the best midfielders, De Bruyne has been putting numbers that Pogba has never reached season in season out. KDB was putting these numbers at Wolfsburg which shows that he can do it in a weaker team.

Pogba has shown he needs 7/8 WC players around him to do it.
Pogba has spent the huge majority of his time with us playing in a two man midfield. Nobody is going to pull up those kinds of numbers in that position. One of the few times he was given a proper run in a similar position as KDB plays he put up similar (if not better) numbers. We'll never know what he could have done if we'd used him there long-term as for some reason both Mourinho and Ole kept him mostly in the deeper role.

The 'needing 7/8 WC players' thing is overplayed as well, as he was regularly our best player during any periods where we actually played properly as a team. Something that we all know was quite rare under Mourinho and hit-and-miss under Ole. Maybe he does need true world class players around him, but it's much more likely that he just needs a properly functioning team.

There is no shame in admitting being wrong in this instance. It wouldn't make people any less fans of the club. Medias and journalists love to stirr up shit, best to make sure before jumping at the throat of the players.

Look like not just me think he was sending out a message.

What exactly is making Paul unhappy here? His performances are an embarrassment yet people think that its United that's the problem?

True pogba and de gea were our only world class players for long time, but those times over. Solskjaer is not going to change his system for Pogba so the best thing is sell him and buy more flexible player like Tielemans or Grealish.

According to his latest interview it's the atmosphere at United I think.

But couldn’t that be his perception of ‘the atmosphere’? I really don’t see any evidence of a bad atmosphere within this current squad. If there is some, I’d like to see it.

My view is that maybe he’s not getting ‘the atmosphere’ because, just possibly, his team mates are as sick of his drama as some of us United fans are? How about them apples? I might be wrong of course, I know as much as anyone on here what is really going on but he’s a massive earner, a massive self promoter, a massive problem for team selection and on top of that, doesn’t contribute to much on the pitch. Maybe the rest of the squad are tired of it too?

No, he's unhappy because he's not good enough and he's being benched. Find me a player who would be content in a similar situation and one who wouldn't be happier in a better setting. A lot of fans are clutching at straws over nothing.

Dude, if nothing else, I have to admire your staunch loyalty to this guy I really do! From my perspective you seem to love Paul more than you love United itself. It’s fine by the way, I’ve had my godlike figure players here over the years but they’ve usually earned that love from me by being a massive asset on the pitch over a prolonged period.

Atmosphere - Meaning the most effective lineup of the team seems to be on in which he stays on bench.
That would be an unhappy atmosphere

I didn't say our atmosphere is bad mate. I said according to his latest interview.

You'd need to read a few pages back to understand I think.

I wasn’t insinuating you did, just commenting on a possible scenario regarding how he now finds the atmosphere.

Your perspective is simply wrong. I hope we sell him for a good fee to be reinvested in the team, I don't care about any of our players on a personal level. I just find it amusing to see many of the Utd fans get it so wrong on this particular instance and still persist with it when shown clear quotes. Even @sammsky1 , with whom I had endless discussions with regarding Pogba, can see what's going on in this particular situation.
You can love Utd without needing to shit on him when it's not warranted. Lord knows there is enough to talk about when it comes to his football alone

And this is my main problem with him. I have no personal feelings towards him other than he’s probably be fun to go out for the night with maybe? I’m just fed up of waiting for him to arrive. The extra drama, even if some of it is stirred up by the media just makes it all the more tiresome.

I could honestly cope with a lot of the media bullshit if he was smashing out on the pitch consistently. In fact, I’d go as far to say I could still see him being a success here. My mind is always open to be changed. If he got his head down, was more sensitive in his interviews (or at least be aware of how his words could get twisted) and became the player for us most people know his talent would allow, it would all be ok. Seriously, he could literally mend everything and become a hero within 6 months.

You can let this go tbh, he's not gonna arrive anymore. It's been too long now, I don't see him transform into a player he's never been here consistently and that's the only thing that would win fans over. Consistency.
It took me a while to accept it but once I did, I just find him meaningless if you know what I mean. He doesn't frustrate me anymore in the sense that I expect not much from him anymore.

I let it go a long time ago. I’m just saying for instance, say he comes on as a sub in our next game and has a blinder. Then again, and again and so on, he could turn it around, football has short memories. I’m not again he will or might even, but he could if he so chose to.
