You do realize that management techniques are applicable across many fields, right? For example, if you're a drug-kingpin, and there's this talented but dangerous uppity low-level dealer who thinks he should be in charge of more than he is, and you test his loyalty out by giving more product to someone who everyone knows is inferior to him and he flips out, then you know where his priorities lie.

If you can't grasp that, don't worry about it.

@Solius, keep in mind, this is exactly the type of cringey stuff that you have to realize isn't nou_camp vacillating and 'avoiding'. There's no way anyone can consistenly respond to non-sequiturs/strawmen like this. I gave the iniesta thing as an example of specifically how like nou_camp can't possibly respond and someone just takes it literally and comes in with maximum derpage thinking I was arguing that, too. Totally understand moderating isn't easy. Just saying that across the past few pages, nou_camp was being very consistent and not avoiding/ignoring. I understand I may not have seen long-term abusive behavior on his/her part.

The reason he can't respond is because he can't justify slagging Pogba for not scoring enough goals when other great CMs do not score goals, Ineista being case in point.

I don't mind Nou Camp general opinion towards Pogba, its actually a fair POV, but he is pretty much unreasonable in many of his arguments and points and when challenged he/she goes into repetitive barrage of saying the same thing and never engaging in any sort of discussion.

We need to sign him up, throw money at him, we don't replace him, he's incredible.

Shaw, Rashford, Pogba, Bruno have this synergy, a real telepathic understanding of each others game. We need to build that on the right hand side of the pitch too. Pogba is key to it. Without him we are always a lesser team.

He's unplayable at times. Incredible talent. Love the way him and Shaw were linking up last night on that left flank. 2 players at world class level and playing for us.

He is banned for the final if he gets a yellow in the next game no?

If that's the case he shouldn't even play. Not worth the risk! Too valuable

That was one of the more ridiculous yellows I’ve seen recently. Only made worse by Roma players failing to drag him to the ground at every opportunity without any punishment.

Crucial involvement for three goals - not too shabby.

Very fine run with the ball prior to Bruno's first. Perfect pass leading up to Cavani's first. And a very nice header.

I wonder does Nou Camp go into Shaws thread every games and shits on him for being terrible in almost every other season?

Like Pogba he is class now so I hope you have the same energy for him? I expect not.

Maybe just maybe we just needed a better team like everyone had been saying for years.

Pogba may have been inconsistent but he was always up there with a few others as the best of a bad bunch.

And he isn't inconsistent now so the point is moot.

I think he has to produce these kind of performances for a longer period of time before he sheds that tag.

For various reasons he hasn't given us a full season of the type of stuff he's been doing over the last month or so.

Until he does I think it's fair enough to question his consistency.

Exactly. And they'll do it again next game which will frustrate him. It's too risky imo.

The tie is done. Have him on the bench in case if emergency only.

Really hope we find a way to sign him up on a new contract

His understanding and chemistry with the likes of Bruno and Cavani grows by the week and I truly believe that we'll be seriously challenging for the league next season if we manage to hold on him while having one or 2 additions to the XI this summer.

Been saying for years that he's rubbish as a DM and should be played further forward. This is what you get - his attacking is top notch but his defensive instincts are pretty poor. It's just because he's a big lad that people think he can be defensive, but he's closer to someone like David Silva than Casemiro.

People rail on Mcfred but this is one of the major benefits - Pogba gets to play further forward.

This is stupid though, no player bar Messi/Ronaldo in the past puts up world class performances like last night every game. Just because his next game might not be at that level doesn’t mean he’s “inconsistent”. Inconsistency would be dropping a stinker in between ever great performance.

pogbas inconsistence is a bit of a media story as many pundits wanted him to fail from the beginning alone because of the price tag. in fact i think he was good to superb most times he played for us till now. he was unlucky with injuries/covid and his bad games came when he wasnt fully fit which is normal for a physical player like him. he would be a corner stone of a title winning team - really hope he signs a new deal

This is the Pogba we were all hoping we would be seeing consistently when he first signed, but we've only seen this in a minority of matches during his United career. I hope that this player we see now, will be what we get for the next few games, and subsequently, for the next few seasons if he signs a new contract. My concern is that he really wants to go to Madrid, and with Riola, a new contract will be a big increase on his current salary, which the club would not be able to afford. I hope that they come to some arrangement which is acceptable to both parties.
A few months ago I desperately wanted Pogba to go, but this is pretty much the player I've been waiting a few seasons to see, so I hope sanity prevails, and we can get another three or four years out of him.

I've noticed this quite often from refs, he gets absolutely no protection from them.

Been fantastic for us since December when available, a couple of quiet games while he got back to fitness after injury aside. Him and Shaw have been out most consistent performers in that time.

What? So in your opinion Sir Alex happily threw away title winning points to set a test and prove a point?

This is almost too dumb to respond to. 'Member the time he played Gibson against Bayern? 'Member the eight-defenders game?

Nice bit of mental gymnastics to somehow reach up your bum and pull that 'opinion' all the way down through everything.

I've had this discussion before, some of you guys are so literal. When I say a full season I don't mean literally every single game. I'm talking about the consistency level we've seen from City and Liverpool players over the last few years.

Yeah that's a legitimate worry.

But if it happens we cash in and buy a replacement. Just hope it doesn't drag on all summer.

Hopefully we would cash in, but every club will plead poverty, so getting what we would want for him is probably not on, also Pogba/Riola would want an increase on what salary he is on now, which again, is probably not viable. So several possible outlooks are that we sell cheaply, or we give Pogba an improved contract, over say three years, with a possible fourth year, or nothing happens, and Pogba goes for free next year.

To be fair to Pogba he’s nearly always thrived here in a more advanced role. When he was the most attacking midfielder under Jose his goal involvements were really good. Same when Ole came in and basically played him as a 10. The problems only really started when he fell out with Jose or when he was given major defensive duties before and after Bruno. I thought his best position was Bruno’s spot and he wouldn’t win it back so it was probably best he left but now I think he should be given rashfords spot on the left in any game Cavani can play in and he’s also a very strong rotational possibility with Bruno. That’s basically all the creativity we need. Pogba Bruno and Greenwood/Rash/James feeding Cavani and we've got more than enough to win most matches as overly simple as that sounds.

I apologise for the dumb post and I regret that you can't bring yourself to respond to it. Maybe I'm just a stupid twat who doesn't understand the intricacies of football, or maybe I'm just light-headed from fasting.

For people who still don't understand, SAF had him pegged from the get go. The Rafael/Park-in-midfield game for example was a very specific test for narcissistic traits, and he failed it.
the reason I pulled that "opinion" out my arse is because that's exactly how the bolded part reads.
All I asked was whether sir Alex deliberately threw away points to set a specific test for someone who in your own words "sir Alex knew wouldn't sign anyway".

I don't know why you had to mention Darron Gibson in a Munich game, maybe it's another thing my simple little mind doesn't understand.

Where's it say something about SAF intending to drop points on purpose there, champ.

Yeah, I had you at about 50/50 to understand why that example was brought up.

If you keep at it you might make a connection between SAF and 'weakened' lineups and those having absolutely nothing to do with 'dropping points on purpose' and also nothing to do with any secondary, tertiary or heck even quaternary objectives one might have in fielding such lineups and so on.

With Martial and Rashford performing so well on the flanks last season, it looked like Pogba didn't fit. The few chances he got on the left, he failed the audition. But with Cavani being a revelation this season, Shaw being our best player overall, and with Rashford starting to adjust to the right flank, it has really helped Pogba find his magic again.

We are a far better side with an in-form Pogba in the team on the left than without. World class player. He will never have crazy stats from the left, as he's just as much the playmaker and creative spark as he is the match winner, as opposed to an out and out goalscoring winger like Salah. Pogba is more of a Grealish.

To think that Jose had written-off Pogba and Shaw as useless deadwood!!

Fingers crossed Pogba does indeed sign a new deal.

I hope Ole can find a way to play Pogba in a more advanced role without moving Rashford to the right. If we keep on playing this formation, with Pogba on the left, I actually struggle to see how we can fit Rashford into the team at all, when Greenwood, in my opinion, has proven to be more effective on the right. If gives us some great rotational options though, and even better if we sign Sancho as well. As you say, we can use Pogba as a nr. 10 in some matches and give Fernandes a rest once in a while, or maybe try a new formation.

And we know there will be injuries, so we´ll still need Martial and Sancho.

James to be sold.

No doubt he had a bad spell, but Bruno this year alone performed to the standard needed in about half his games too. Pogba also played with Pereira, Lingard and whonot at the beginning which was very hard to pull the team up, when we were not backed in the transfer window. His lengthy injuries and covid obviously mean that media have a firepower and even more bash him like if he played and underperformed. Some of the British media are the shittest in the world really and it's easy to get carried away with what they repeat week after week tryna ride their agenda from the beginning. Pure jealousy, money spend, and Manchester United success in the past means they will try their best to squeez a bad line so people talk about it. Pogba no doubt didn't have significantly more worse games than Rashford either tbh.

It's just Rashford is golden british kid - an "underdog" humble guy coming from an academy and everyone loves him so he's untouchable while Pogba coming in as a star player who should entertain every game or he's shit. So unfair. And he's a good person too, just a bit more vocal on social media which people hate too. You are a footballer, you earn so much money and play for my team so how dare you have some fun on the run. Stupid.

I'd love for him to stay here but I have 0% trust in him not being a drama queen again if the squad does not develop as hoped

Then feck it and sell him for 90 mil. Still better than letting him go with another free transfer to Juventus.

A good and fair comment from Raiola. Basically add to the squad sufficiently and show some ambition and he will stay, if not he will go.

Very Fair and it's exactly what I'd do in his position. No reason to stay if the club have another lackluster summer. We need quality additions. It's a very reasonable stance.

If we didn't have such a poor summer last year he probably would have signed that new contract by now. The problem for our players is they can't trust that we will be ambitious.

It has to happen for them to believe it. That's the difference between us and other clubs.

A summer of Rice and Sancho and he stays as I have always said imo. Basically he wants what's best for the team and himself.

This is what I've been saying as well. He's clearly very ambitious and wants a club that will match those ambitions.
