Imagine coming here with your shit agenda-driven posts after a performance like that.

He was superb today. Nobody had said otherwise.

Has he been superb over the 5 years? Nowhere near. This is the Paul Pogba we should have seen so many more times than we have. But we haven't.

That's why people get so frustrated with him. The talent he has is unreal. I just wish we'd have seen more of it.

He was class today. Question - how many more games would we have won instead of drawn if he was fit the last 6 weeks ?

At least a couple. Bruno’s been tragic since Xmas bar the odd game so having Pogba on form would’ve helped massively

He’s been awful for around 3 years now, the fact he’s going through his usual 1-2 month run of good form does not change that.

He’s front 4 player I’ve always said it but he can be replaced with real quality in Grealish.

If he has brilliant concentration all the time he’d be unbelievable but he doesn’t, thanks for the goal but still want him sold, there are a lot of front four players who are better than him.
The trouble with your nonsense is it categorically isn’t true but let’s say he has 1-2 months of good form as you assert; bar Bruno in the past 12 months name a player that has had 2+ months of impeccable football for us.

Now Paul can be a p*ss poor player at times but the McFred combo that were combining to give us diddly in the first half isn’t an anomaly; don’t get me wrong they’ve looked good away to PSG [although this season it was Pogba who had to come on & change that game] & they’re useful when we go backs to the wall against Citeh but aside Watford in the FA Cup & Leeds at home where’s McToms 2+ months of world class form? Or Fred’s? We’ve got an £80mil captain that made a West Brom forward look like peak Adriano a few weeks ago then played a blinder against Citeh or are we ignoring the bad games others have to suit the agenda.

As for him being a front 4 player that is easily replaced by Grealish, this isn’t FM lad. We spent £40mil on VdB last summer, if you think we’d sell Pogba for whatever fee then reinvest that exact amount [plus more for Grealish] on another midfielder then you haven’t been following our transfers of late.

The fact is Pogba’s base level is criminally low for a player of his ability/talent but that base level doesn’t come close to some of our other midfielders who struggle to muster a 5 yard pass when off their games.

By all means sell Pogba but the first half tonight, as with the first 50 odd minutes against Newcastle & PSG away show he isn’t the worst of our midfielders by a long shot.

He’s been awful for 3 years

Edit: Bruno & Luke Shaw.

Too many posts here talking about this as proof he shouldn't be in a midfield two. There are actually plenty of games where he is at his best playing deep where his passing skills and quality on the ball are vital. Games like Burnley and Fulham recently.

Superb performance. Clever goal from an angle. Header over from Dan James' cross. Dominated the 2nd half with his sublime touch.

It's been underappreciated how much we've missed him over the last month. If he does leave he's going to be hard to replace.

Amazing performance, changed the game and looked a level above. More of this and we might find some form in the cups.

Agree if you get him further up the pitch. With his size and technical ability how do defenders deal with him.

For me the problem is when we play him deeper. Then you start to highlight his weaknesses and take away his assets.
Yeah, himself, Shaw and to some degree, Martial have an insane blend of physicality and technicality. Pogba seems to have matured a lot I think and his use of the ball has been much better. We need him badly for the run in and I hope we can extend his contract.

He’s not that far off De Bruyne in all honesty. He just plays in a far worse team.

He doesn't put the performance he did tonight in anywhere near enough to be in the conversation for me.

On Paper he's in the equation but he's just not lived up to the billing enough on the pitch. But he definitely has it in him that's what so frustrating about him.

1 goal last season. In 22 games. That's just nowhere near good enough to be called the best player in the league.

Just look at the impact Bruno has had. He's been a huge player for us and he's arguably not as talented as Pogba. Just shows you that talent isnt everything.

We know Pogba world class when he wants too. Problem is he only wants to do it in the big games. Still love him though and hope he stays despite a Cnut of a agent.

Once you guys kept going on about him not turning up in the big games. Now he has, so you just flip the narrative just to have a little bit of a negative spin on things.

Bruno plays higher up the pitch, so he will score more goals and have more assists. That being said Bruno’s performances have been absolutely diabolical since December bar the odd game. In fact his whole season in terms of performance is masked by stats.

Pogba has always been judged by the lack of quality in the team, Bruno is only judged on his stats. His performances week on week are tragic.

Pogba can be an excellent player. But he’s not, and never will be world class. He doesn’t have anywhere near the consistency required.

he can clearly be brilliant at times, and I’m glad he’s back.

it’s not meant as an insult to say he’s not world class. It doesn’t mean I think he’s crap.

Sure, but just for once could we just talk about what's happening now instead of moaning about the past?

Immense today. I love watching him shake off three or four fouls in a row and still not losing the ball.

Don't be so hysterical. He was tragic today, sure. Normally, his performances vary between brilliant and average, and we let him get away with the average ones because he usually still scores or assists. Today was anomalously bad. Not sure why. His touch and ball control were as elegant as ever, he just inexplicably seemed to misplace every pass.

Then we have no world class players.

Its always a subjective question of what is considered world class - and not something that needs to be defined here, as no one ever agrees.

as to world class players. It’s only Bruno as far as I’m concerned.

Rashford and Shaw can potentially be so, and so could Pogba if he was consistent, but he hasn’t ever been at United.

He’s a moments player. He very rarely performs greatly for 90 minutes. Go back over the games since December he’s been diabolical, but his stats mask his performance. That’s not to dismiss the importance of a goal or an assist, it’s what really matters. But performances are generally judged and Pogba, no way, gets away with Bruno’s performance today. He gets absolutely hammered for it.

Pogba was the difference between the two teams. Milan couldn't cope with him. Head and shoulders above the rest tonight.

Again, no. Sometimes not great, I'll grant you, but until today never diabolical.

It doesn't always have to be extremes. Players can be something in-between brilliant and terrible. And it doesn't have to be the case that either Pogba is good and important or Bruno is.

Bruno is world class in terms of stats. I don’t judge on stats. I go on performance. Keane for example didn’t have stats like Bruno. Neither did Scholes. Both were miles better. On performance Bruno is very rarely anywhere near world class.

Different gravy, the composure and awareness on the goal was class and they looked like they lost confidence when he took charge, he even had a spell as a false 9.

i disagree, but I can see your point.

However, it’s pretty futile to be comparing Bruno to two of the greatest midfielders in our history. Whether Bruno is ‘world class’ or not - is based on a comparison of the players playing at this time, not from the past. That’s obvious.

Suppose it depends on your own definition. Looking at the last few games alone he was poor on Sunday, poor in the first leg, awful against Crystal Palace and not good at all against Chelsea.

I'll admit he's getting worse. He looks exhausted to me, and it wouldn't be a surprise given he's barely missed a game all season, and we've been playing one every three or four days. We've all got used to it so quickly but managers used to complain if they had to play so many even for a month or two. From my perspective you're exaggerating how poor he has been until today, when I'll grant you he was truly shocking.

listen look back at many games from mid December, in fact look back game to game over the whole season. If I’m honest, I don’t really care because almost all players have good and bad games, Keane aside, but some are judged only on the bad games they have and others bad games are largely ignored and that’s not fair. Bruno’s bottom level is tragic, his normal level of performance is not great. His stats are great but do we know if they come at a cost?

Agree to disagree, I guess. I think you're misreading him as a player, but these things are subjective.

Said it before many times but I think he’s our best player hands down. Without doubt the best technically gifted player we have. Just a complete different team when he’s playing and ‘on it’.

He is feckin superb, would rather keep him than Bruno.
Clowns wanting him sold, you don't know much about football
We should keep him at all costs, make him a captain and keep him happy

What a class player. How cool was he at the goal?
He was class today. Question - how many more games would we have won instead of drawn if he was fit the last 6 weeks ?
That’s a good question. He was at the top when he was injured and at the top tonight, so the painful answer is probably his injury cost us a few points...

This is exactly what the guy you're replying to is referring to. Agenda driven.

Exactly. Need to get him to extend and add at least two first XI level players to the squad for next season and we can challenge.

Yeah Rashford is a horrible player. Clearly done nothing ever for the club.
Yes because that’s what I said... On current form hes shocking though and easily upgraded. At his best he’s an asset but even then with question marks about real elite quality. Pogba honestly has 3 times the talent of Rashford though and even he has question marks.

Turns out having your (second?) best player actually playing for you makes a real difference. Who'd of thunk it?

Been on Instagram and it’s quite telling how well he’s liked by the other players. Pretty much all of them who’ve posted tonight have him up.

Im still in the I think he should leave and it’s for the best if he does camp but I dunno. If he’s this well liked .......

King Zlatan passing the scepter to Pogba!

Pogba has beaten the greats in football. He beat CR7 at Juventus and also Messi in the world cup and now Zlatan.
