Best player on the field when he came on, per usual.
Not surprised the second half suited Pogba and our team in general when Leipzig had already smashed us and didn't have to dominate us, allowing us to have more of the ball and appear to be in control.

I wish Ole had been brave enough to give him the Ozil treatment after his agents comments. Honestly, just don't want to see this guy in a United shirt again even if he plays slightly better than his usual average self, as was the case when he came on.

I don't want to see those two words in the same sentence ever again after today.

He would have started if it wasn't for his agent
And let's be honest, the agent does what the player wants, that's why he's hired or still hired

The timing fcked everything. Even though we went out he's lucky he played

I wonder how much of our performance last night was due to comments from his agent. I mean, it surely would have had an impact on the morale of the team.
One of your best player indirectly says that man United is not good enough for his ambitions.

It's embarrassing how fans time and again give in to Raiola's emotional black mail and get all riled up. He always use his "start a bar fight" schtick
when he is trying to force a club to offer his player a contract. He did this sake shit with Donorumma at Milan.

He is trying this now because he knows United are in a strong position. In no rush to sale and in no rush to offer Pogba a deal due to his age, recent injury history and subsequent form. It's entirely up to Pogba to prove he wants and deserves a new deal on the pitch. Anyone paying attention to the media circus is just making a fool of themselves.......

Him and Bruno were probably the only good things out of the game. I want him out but fair play to him not sulking and trying his best in such circumstances.

The player contract runs out in 2 years time. If we don't sell him next summer he can run his contract to ground and leave for free the summer after. The player won't have much problem staying for another 18 months getting his salary weekly then leaving for free. We will be the one losing money by not selling him next summer. Losing the player you invested 90m 5 years ago for free will be a disaster.

I don't see this strong position we are in at all.

The only thing that might make Pogba signs a new deal is probably a new manager with another honeymoon period. As it stands, no way he signs an extension, and as long as he doesn't sign one, we will have to sell next summer to not lose money on him.

If these comments were made a few days before the match then I’d agree, but when it’s on the eve of the biggest match of the season and from one of your most high-profile teammates, you’d expect Raiola’s comments to cause at least some disharmony and even division within the dressing room.

I wouldn’t expect this to cause issues for an entire match, but would wage that justifiable anger at one of your teammates selfishness so close to a big match wouldn’t leave the team (or at least some of the players) at peak levels of concentration right from kickoff.

Once the match fully gets going then the adrenaline should be enough to put aside any off the on pitch shenanigans, but by that time we were already 1-0 down.

Plus it clearly is about the players to some extent, seeing as Raiola’s repeated agitations to get his client a move is obviously an implication that Pogba is too good for the club, and Pogba refusing to distance himself from these remarks validates that he sees things this way too.

As a player, I’d be even more pissed off if the teammate agitating for the move at such an inappropriate time had been largely dogshit for the 4+ years he’d been at the club.

Would be especially curious to know how Bruno, being by far our biggest leader despite not having the captaincy, reacted when he heard Raiola’s comments. I’m betting he had words with Pogba, or at least gave him the cold shoulder.
I think footballers in general are too concerned about their own career to care about what another player's agent says, as long as it doesn't affect them personally.

I know right. No repercussions at all.

It's amazing, heaven! playing for Manchester United, can smack talk shit disrespect the club (and by extension disrespecting the manager and teammates) all day long, and the manager still play you.

Do people honestly think Raiola does whatever he wants? And Pogba is totally innocent in this thing? Pogba is testing the water; (a)fishing for a bumper new contract so he lets his agents ran his mouth, giving pressure to the club, and (b)if Ole didn't play Pogba, then that'll be a "justification" for the club letting him go this upcoming January. The ridiculous timing plus Pogba's sudden heightened effort in performances are not coincidence at all.

Guess Pogba really is a V-

I don't understand why the goal was given to him tbh.
Can't give it to Maguire since it hit his hand. They gave it to Harry at first, but then changed to Pogba once they saw their mistake of letting the goal stand.

He clearly wants to leave. Let’s wrap it up with Juve in January and be done with it.

Fair play to Pogba, Obviously if he wants to go back to Italy he does not let racism which apparently is pretty bad over there get to him.
All comes down to Juve coughing up the cash.

I class pogba as a homegrown talent because he actually does carw about the club. He has spent alot of his time over in the North West of England which wasn't easy as a young French lad over 10 years ago.

I used to watch him at moss Lane in altrincham with the keane bros, Lingard etc and he's spent alot of his time in cheshire/Manchester. I used to play football with lads at the academy who know him and there isn't a bad word to be said about him.

He went to juve and it looks like he turned into a world class cm, who we had no chance of signing.
Then we signed him. We broke the world transfer fee, we signed a guy who was happy to come home as he said. He was literally the most sought after player in the world back then.

Since joining, he has been hit and miss. For the money our board paid, you'd expect more but pogba didn't put a 90 million price tag on his own head.

Hes not been a world beater since 2016 for us, true, but when he returns to juve or goes to Spain and we still haven't won the league in 10 years time, maybe our fans will realise just how much a scapegoat he was.

The posts I see on this forum towards pogba are disgraceful and need toning down.

Having said that, a big proportion of our fans are muppets and expect every player to be a hybrid of Evra, Keane, Wes brown, Rooney and Ronaldo.

If pogba comes out and says he is a slave (like our greatest ever player) or questions the direction of the club and holds us to ransom (our top goalscorer) then I will understand.
Currently that fat cnut who represents him has done all the talking like Paul stretford and Jorge mendes did for the two mentioned above.

Pogba is responsible for his agent and the things his agent says. He employs his agent and the agent speaks for Pogba. I do not see how Raiola talking is any different to Pogba making the comments himself. Raiola only exists in the football world to represent his players and to speak for them.

If Pogba doesn't agree with what Raiola said, he should get a new agent that actually represents him. He won't though, because he does agree with what Raiola says and it's not like this hasn't happened before.

All this talk of Fatty trying to get us to offer Pogba a new contract, and how much Pogba loves the club. Christ.

The club tried to open negotiations for a new contract and it was made clear he has no intention of signing a new contract.

All Fatty is doing is trying to make Pogba so toxic we get sick and get rid in January. He's done his job, and as a bonus he gets all the abuse while Pogba continues to be defended on here.

With Pogba – 171G, 94W, 37D, 40L – 1.87PPG (55% win rate)

Without Pogba – 80G, 50W, 14D, 16L – 2.05PPG (62.5% win rate)

With Pogba – 171G, 286 goals scored, 175 goals against – 1.67GSPG, 1.02GAPG

Without Pogba – 80G, 155 goals scored, 59 goals against – 1.94GSPG, 0.74GAPG

Unreal player, not the covid stricken version or the mythical inconsitstent one. It will be sad to see the Pogba United story end without him at least winning a major trophy. He's been scapegoated to the nth degree when mostly the team failed due to other players, and never got the credit he deserved whenever the team did well on his back. That said, I still feel him leaving will be taking the easy way out and not finishing what he came back to do

What did he come back to do? I wonder if he really wanted to come back at all. At the end of the day Juventus sold him, he didn’t beg them to leave so he could ‘come home’. If they could have paid him what we were willing to and they didn’t agree to sell him, do you think he’d have been agitating to come back? I doubt that very much.

Exactly. I try and stay out of this thread as much as possible because I struggle with the genuine support he seems to still get. Given us nothing but negativity for the last 2 years.

We'd just bought in Mourinho and were looking to sign Pogba and Zlatan. The signs were good that we were going to get back to the top and Pogba wanted to be part of that. Juve absolutely wanted to keep him but he and his agent made it very obvious he wanted to come back here so when we offered a good amount (still not as much as they actually wanted) they felt they had to accept.

We offered him an amazing contract to make him a top earner. Juve couldn’t have matched those terms and Raiola made another fortune on a massive transfer. Sorry dude, with the way he’s gone about things I can never believe he came back for reasons other than money. I may be wrong, I may be right but that’s how I feel and have felt for some time. His lack of commitment to us has been dreadful for two years now.

It was probably a good thing in the end for many Man Utd fans to learn that bringing in a cheque-book manager and giving him an open chequebook to sign players who are only coming for the money, is not the way forward for a club like Man Utd.
Now that we've made that mistake, I don't think it will ever be repeated again and we all have realized that developing homegrown kids while also trying to discover unpolished gems to turn into stars, while trying to play football that is nice on the eye, as opposed to quick fix defensive managers like Jose, will always be the right way.

Love it or hate it, Paul Raiola method works

A line from him and we're all up in arms and not opposing to selling him to Juve

Can't wait to feck him off to Juve myself, but you can't argue his method works, we're just sheep being manipulated by a few tweets. He knows exactly how to get us singing

No he does not

he just happens to play for us, he's not even an England. Why the hell should he has any affection towards Man United other than it's just a good employment.

stop deluding ourselves, he doesn't love us, never have and never will

At least he does not care as much as us fans would have wanted. Nevertheless, I believe Pogba is a top athlete, and in the end he wants to perform at his best level. So, he could not care, and at the same time play well. The moment he makes himself indispensable for the team, the Fans may accept that he´s leaving. Like Ole have, but at the same time counting on Pogba to be an important player for us in his last season. I don´t know. Three days ago I said Pogba out.

Rip the bandage and take the loss in net transfer. But the wages saved can be applied where it needs to be applied.

Dunno if anyone's said this, but he is in fact very lucky that Manchester fans aren't in stadiums. I'm not condoning it but there wouldn't be much doubt that he'd be slaughtered by the crowd.

Him and his agent have made him an enemy of the club in some ways, which people will despise for what he stood for here.

Never lived up to the hype, but constantly acting as if he's been made a prisoner.

Its pathetic, now.

Time to ride or die with Pogba. Just stick him next to Fred and train the feck out of them on forming a partnership in the middle of the park. Matic and Fred can work, but Matic can effectively play once every two weeks. McTominay and AWB is one too many below par players who are responsible for a large part of the pitch. Cover and defend sure, but get on the ball and move it up the pitch without needing Bruno to drop so deep or have some once of passing/creative threat...nope.

It's just clear as day that if Pogba can strike a balanced partnership with Fred, United would become more consistent at least in performances. But feckin hell, you just don't know what Paul Pogba will show up and he's in the center of the everything, no where to hide.

Stick this fake shit to the reserve.
So what if he's good and work hard in trainings. Everyone knows about it already. That's not the problem.

Pogba is an angel in front of you, but a backstabbing devil at your back.

Agreed. He was booed at end end of season 18/19 iirc.

Lo and behold he then use that and came up with that shit interview wanting to leave bs because of it. Sensitive baby. Then again, he even lied to Juve fans and his teammates before assuring them he won't leave them, and he did.
