Don’t understand the criticism. He can’t be blamed for the whole team losing intensity in the second half.

So I look at James out there and I can't help but think why can he play deep in a two but Pogba can't be expected to have any defensive responsibility and needs two people beside him to do all his work.
Embarassing post, what do you people even watch at times to come out with such drivel...

Played a good game as far as I'm concerned. The intensity from the whole team wasn't there for large periods though.

Good first half followed by a poor second half. Played a little too deep at times I think. When we play three in midfield he needs to get further up the pitch. Especially at Old Trafford.

I thought he was our best outfield player today, not a great game but he was the only one that looked like making something happen until Martial came on.

Bloody hell we're a whiney lot aren't we?

Another goal, some lovely pieces of play. Lost intensity along with 9 other outfield players in second half, all that changed when Martial came on and Pogba upped his game again to coincide with it.

Absolutely bugger all to moan about with Pogba after today, won't stop moancafé though.

Thank god he was playing today....imagine our team performance with say McTominay instead.

That being said our movement today was shocking, not sure how visible that is from TV but the amount of times Pogba and Matic, Lindelof too, got the ball and everyone just stood still.

That's jose's job though and the biggest issue he needs to fix.

Thought he did fairly well. He was getting frustrated at times, which looked like it was mainly because of poor decision making/dallying (standard), but overall he looked like he wanted it and positively affected our play.

Yeah, he was fine.

Average performance by my expectations. Good first half though. I still ex0ect more from him

Not good enough for me, thought Maitland-Niles was the best CM on the pitch. Pogba really should be doing more against the midfield he was up against today.

I'm glad he's becoming the difference in these games. There always seems to be a stick to beat him with.
People were criticising him for backheels etc in Arsenals box but thats exactly where he should be trying that.
We're in danger of judging Pogba by hindsight. He shouldn't have tried that when he fails and he should play like that more often when he's successful. All disguised by the word consistency.

Away from performance he has become very productive recently. 2 goals vs City, assist vs Bournemouth, assist vs Spurs and Goal today. 3 goals and 2 assists in the last 5 games.

King pogba to feature in
Premier league team of the year?

So far, he is only second to KDB in midfield but above all others in the league, right?

l'm pretty sure his productivity is directly related to being in a midfield 3. He has far more freedom to ghost into the box when he is not part of a double pivot.

I don't understand, you lot criticized, expecting him to be POTM every game? That's ridiculous.

Even Ronaldo had his off days, Messi too. Salah didn't score against Stoke as well.
What even irks me is that yesterday he was more than decent to see out the game. What do you want from Pogba?

2 goals a game + commanding performance in 40 appearances?

He was okay, and that's fine considering the league is finished.

Shocked to come in here and see negativity. Wasnt an amazing game of course, but thought he was pretty clearly the best United player on the pitch of the starts and only Martial had a bigger impact when he came on.

He had his moments, but it is Pogba and the team treated the match like an exhibition game, of course in that environment he is going to get a little self indulgent.

So it's alright that, yet again, they were all strolling around like they didn't give a feck all game? The lad needs to realise he ain't going to play for a bigger club than Man Utd, especially if he doesn't sort his attitude out. Maybe he can take the piss at PSG and have the easy life, if he's happy with that fair enough but it would be a shame.

No one can accuse him of not turning up in the big games this season. People forget that our title challenge broke down in that period Pogba was missing through injury and suspension. We lost to Huddersfield and Chelsea, drew vs Liverpool and got beat by City opening up the 11 point gap. Judging by his impact in big games recently it's fair to say had he been available in those games things wouldve been very different in the title race. However I still harbour some doubts over our midfield. I think he needs someone who can dictate the game behind him like Carrick. Matic doesn't do this and instead relies more on his legs to cover spaces etc. Herrera is pretty average on the ball and his main qualities are recovering the ball and hassling players. The problem is thats what Matic is there to do so having Matic AND Herrera is pointless. They are too similar. Herrera is not good enough to be box to box in games where we have the majority of the ball. He doesn't offer enough on the ball to play there. He plays as a DM who's been asked to do a job further forward and it hurts our attacking play. To really make the 4-3-3 formation we need more contribution in attack from 2 of the 3 midfielders. At the moment we have only Pogba to rely on. We need a second midfielder. either a DM who'll dictate play with his passing or a box to box midfielder similar to Pogba with the energy to both defend and attack otherwise we are unnecessarily sacrificing an attacking player. 4-3-3 is very reliant on top midfielders.

22 goals/assists in 33 games.

Such a shame he got injured. He’s had a very under rated season imo, very productive.

And still in contention to win yet another trophy for united. I would say pogba has a good season.

I don't understand what do people want from him anymore. His output (goals+assists), chances created and dribbling are among the very top in the league (in his position), yet we have people just want him to defend all day and play it simple with sideway pass instead. I know he has some dip in form midway through the season (plus some injuries), and he is not among the best player of the season either. But come on, he is not really that bad.

All I want is, exactly like I want from the rest of these lazy feckers, for him to pass and move, show some urgency and actually attack the opposition box. When he gets in the box he's a threat, he's got 2 guys covering behind him, the only time he got in the box he scored, and yet he's still arsing about deep in midfield, slowing the game down and misplacing passes. He's capable of much better, as he's showed whenever we go a goal down, he starts playing with urgency and destroys teams.

I thought he was pretty good in the first half, went missing a bit in the second.

Now it's a very popular phrase, "keep it simple" and it means feck all. If keeping it simple means just passing it sideways then we should have retained Cleverley. When he plays well, people come up with "Yeah he kept it simple so he was very good". That phrase as no meaning at all and it's just laughable to expect him to keep it simple when he as so many attributes to make a big contribution. He is very good dribbler, his passing range is comfortably the best in our team and one of the best in the league.

Btw there was different argument with few saying Pogba should be played in midfield 3 and some said it doesn't matter. We had few who made very poor posts whenever he played average playing in midfield 3, as if they expected every move to be perfect and every game to be match winning one when he plays in midfield 3.

Anyways this season his performances when played in midfield 2 vs Midfield 3.

Midfield 2 - 1591 mins - 1 goal + 6 assists (227 mins per G+A)
Midfield 3 - 1013 mins - 6 goals + 5 assists (92 mins per G+A)

When played in midfield 3 his productivity is so much better.

In Just PL:
Midfield 2: 1253 mins - 6 G+A (208 mins per G+A)
Midfield 3: 713 mins - 10 G+A (71 mins per G+A)

Is output has been very good. Great improvement from last season.

he is pretty much what he was at Juventus. he may not be an ever present threat through the 90 minutes but can pop up with a bit of magic, a goal or an assist.

Those numbers are a lot more than your bit bullshit .

But King Pogba actually scores more goals last season than this season (although to be fair, this season has not ended yet)

I don't think any midfielder is a threat throughout 90 mins.
