United deny Evra interview | Sky Sports | Football | News
Manchester United have quashed rumours Patrice Evra is set to leave the Premier League leaders.
Spanish media claimed on Monday that the French full-back had admitted in an exclusive interview that Real Madrid would be an attractive proposition should he move on.
But the 29-year-old, who joined United from Monaco in January 2006, has denied conducting the interview and insists he has no intention of leaving Old Trafford.
"You may have read rumours surrounding a possible summer exit for Patrice Evra," read a statement on United's official website.
"Spanish website Intergoles.com claimed the full-back discussed with them, in an exclusive interview, alleged interest from Real Madrid.
"Manchester United and the player would like to make it clear that this interview never took place and that Patrice is very happy at Manchester United."
Evra's agent, Federico Pastorelo, has confirmed he hopes to sit down with United officials during the summer to discuss the possibility of signing an extension to Evra's current deal, which runs until June 2012
