He turns 18 in April. Wilcox mentioned as being involved in getting this done. Hard to get information about him, but he looks fast and technically sound from the clips on YT. See his height being reported as 170cm, 177cm, and 194cm so total guesswork.

Interesting development.

Highly doubt we’ll throw him straight into the first team when we have Amass who’s the same age and not getting any playing time.

From the little I can read about the kid what is hyped is his pace and physicality, the latter of which Amass is yet to develop.

Do we have any Paraguayan fans on the caf that can enlighten us on how good he is?

If he is already playing with the senior team in his current club then I guess he would be included in the first team here from the get go, however I don't know anything about him.

I’ve never heard of this guy but I’m pretty sure he’s world class.

Know nothing about him but if he doesn’t have great technical qualities (high priority) then hopefully he’s physically imposing. We’ve signed too many physically fragile players of late in Sancho, Antony and Mount. Even Martinez is a bit short and slow although I rate him highly and Malacia is tiny too.

How’s our record in signing South Americans at this age? Pellistri was signed at a similar age and didn’t succeed, Rafael and Fabio were signed at a similar age and did succeed (imo). No one else jumps out from recent’ish times but I’m probably forgetting some obvious ones.

I always quite liked Varela, but he didn't get too many opportunities. A few games under Van Gaal.

I have just watched the YouTube compilation and now realise why we don't hear much about footballers from Paraguay.
I could walk down to the local park and watch a game of higher quality!

So you're saying he's better than what we've got then? Cxcks out!

Varela, yes! I definitely had a “we need to play Varela more” phase. I remember him doing really well against Arsenal in that game when Rashford was amazing and scored a brace.

Doesn’t seem to have amounted to much. Bounced around a few clubs and didn’t leave much of a mark anywhere.

Just looked him up again...can't believe he's already 31 as felt like he was a youth player with us only a few years ago.

Has played in 8 different countries, but has been called up to the Uruguyan National team again the last couple of years after a 5 year hiatus.

Weren't Utd & Arsenal and maybe a few others linked a couple of months ago?

Anyway, from my extensive 10 minute scouting trip to YouTube. The music on the compilations wasn't shit enough, so obviously he's a dreadful player and he should be left in Paraguay.

Obviously don't know the player but, for now, I'm gonna guess he goes to Brighton.

Pleased with this. Always said we should be tapping the South American market for these players before they get to Benfica/Sporting/Porto and cost us 10x as much.

Maybe just maybe he's much better.

Everytime I've seen Amass I've been underwhelmed.

Quick and cheap

The ratings in the intro and the video don't match, in a good way. Maybe one-footed, but so were some of the best players in the world, that's not deal-breaker people think it is. Also a bit chunky, but same thing.

The rating 2/10 for 'injury-prone' does need a bit of investigating though.

Been a fan of this kid since 1:06am this morning and as a dyslexic, can't wait to see this Noel fella start for us.
