Hargreaves will be a huge boost to the squad when he returns. Likewise with Nani - I haven't been his biggest fan this season but he really could claim the left slot if he came back and played well.

Hargreaves is a bit like bigfoot, many People claim to have seen him, but all that exists is some blurry photos, and some droppings.

With Wes Brown

I for one can't wait to see Hargreaves back, but I don't really understand those who say he'll be a huge boost for us. He has to perform a lot better than he did in his first season here.

Wouldn't it be ironic if it was the return of Hargreaves and Nani (who the caf deem as useless players) come to save the day.
I'd love to see this happen. Start to proper wingers in Nani and Valencia, two strikers and give Hargreaves a run in the team at right-back as long as O'Shea is out. If only Nani could get his act together and put in performances we can expect due to his talent we'd be have a problem less on the pitch.

The thread title "Hargreaves back in three weeks" seems to have been a little premature!

16th October, 2009 - 13th January, 2010 is almost three months. Wonder when we'll actually see the lad back in a United shirt because by God we need the extra leadership on the field to put the fear factor back into team. I dont think teams fear us like they used to & its really gettin on my tits!

This is the third year we've been saying that. Even I'm starting to think it won't happen.

I tend to agree with ya man. I keep thinkin he'll come good, but he just doesnt seem capable of playing simple football that the team needs. We know he's got great skill buty his decision making is poor at times. I'd love to see him prove everyone wrong tho, if or when that begins to happen I dont know!

We won the Double that year man & we badly missed him & Fletch in the Champs Lge Final last year too :(

Fletch Hargreaves and Scholes would have donned Barca last year.

Shame in all honesty because we really would have won number 4.

I don't think being thrown in the mix for a swap with Di Maria will have done his confidence any good either.

I'm hoping Hargreaves comes back from the training camp ready to get some reserve games under his belt. Would be great to have him back sooner rather than later. A fit Hargreaves with Fletcher and Anderson makes for a very powerful, tough tackling and dynamic midfield. When you are struggling a bit you need to get tough and he'll certainly add that to the mix. Champions League return leg anyone?

granted he was good in the Champs league, and put in a great display against Arsenal (if I remember correctly)

But in alot of the prem league games, he was a bit of a passenger, and his passing was dire. Thats why I like him on the wing or right back, where he can still get stuck in, and he can whip in a good cross.

Was that ever confirmed, or just more rumors?

Considering it was his first season in the Premier League, I'd be willing to bet he has it in him to give us better performances in center midfield. It's no coincidence he was very good in Europe, he already had a Champions League medal before coming to us.

no i agree, I hope he can come back and make that centre mid spot his own, he has it in him to be a quality box to box player. But some people on here are talking like he never had a bad game for us, which is wrong.

I think thats the general opinion of not only United fans but non-United fans man. We lost the game in mid-field & our attacking force - being the best around, was cut-off through lack of supply!

That night still troubles me greatly & I assume it always will until we win it again - then the pain will ease with time!

They needed to be kicked and hassled, non of that happened.

Whether he was thrown into the mix to get Di Maria, i dont know, but i'm sure it would either make him disheartened or make him more determined - hoping its the latter!

I certainly agree with ya that gettin tough is the way to go at the minute - beat the shit out of the opposition is where its at

He certainly is good on the wing & at right back, but i'd love to see him develop himself more in Central Midfield as a box to box player - he's capable of that imo!

Yup, to be fair aswell, we nearly we're 2nil up in the first ten minutes. It just wasn't our night was it? :(

Yes, we won the double that year, but how much did he actually contribute?

David May played for us when we won the treble

Ah C'mon he was a good player for us man, but was hindered by injuries. Teams know what to expect when Hargreaves plays - they avoid him centrally because of the pressure he puts the opposition under!

I take it you dont rate him then?

Also, every squad player should be respected, for when they're called upon they do their best & all for the team. David May was a good servant to us - the same as those other squad players during the Treble year!

Well they took him to Qatar for training. Rio should be a sub on Saturday but Hargo should be a little longer than that.

I'd love to see him back asap!

Some might not agree but De Jong for city the other day kinda reminded me of our Owen and a lot of the things they do in the way they play were very similar I thought.

Hargo would for me slot in nicely and maybe give our more attack minded centre mids more license to attack.

Oh and 3 weeks innit
