It's from Jean-Charles Sabattier, a germanophile French football journalist. He knows German football very well but is not a transfer insider and just provided the rumour on air with nothing to back it up.

It's mostly speculation at this point although Bayern really seems interested.

ok so here's the original source & video

have to say that I love and admire William Hurt as an actor, not sure whether I want to trust his transfer info.

Their transfer strategy in the last five years or so has been brilliant. Don't know what has changed but it's been robot like effecient.
They're a top five side in the world with very little competition for targets in their domestic league. They can basically do what they want. Same with PSG except the German league is better.

Fergie/the Glazers messed up by not hoovering up talent from 09-13 in the same way Bayern are now.

;) what are those articles about, late trains?
Yes. Our trains are actually pretty unreliable, and we can't complete a single major building project anywhere near on time and budget.

I tell you, this 'German efficiency' label is just the lingering, hollow product shell of decades-long PR.

You wouldn't believe how much time I waste every single day.

Tired of being called efficient.

I think that it's a pretty poor report, he says that the Juventus are asking for more money because now they rate Coman highly and that Bayern are unwilling to pay. The only problem is that if I'm not mistaken, Bayern and Juventus already agreed to a fee and the Juve can't ask for more money.

Surprising. It's the same here, too any committees and red tape etc and not enough graft.

Yes. At the very least, the Coman part of the report is suspicious. Because IIRC according to all reports about the modalities of the Coman transfer we have a fixed loan fee for a two year loan (something like 5-6m €) and then an option to buy with a fixed fee on top of the loan fee (of something like 21m €).

Surely the entirety of these reports (including ones by German outlets briefed by our club no less) is more reliable than this casual claim by the BEINsports guy.

Whether the 'according to our infos Dembele has already found an agreement with Bayern' bit is similarly dubious, I don't know. Maybe as a French journo he's got better knowledge about stuff related to Rennes than related to Juve-Bayern, but then probably it's just all dubious.

Xenophobic if anything but also I meant it as a compliment. It's a trait the rest of the world is jealous of.
It doesn't qualify as xenophobia or racism. Merely a form of stereotyping (but obviously done for comedic effect).

He was asked about the Bayern rumors by Goal France and denied any deal with them.

You essentially have the same profile as Kingsley Coman , you " replace" with Hopes , talking about you at Bayern Munich, you express to walk in his footsteps, in fact ?

I was not even aware there was talk of me at Bayern , I read it in the press. I have no agreement with Bayern . Kingsley is a very good player that I like to look good .

You know an article is 100% BS when it says 'Kingsley Coman, who the media outlet expects will return to Juventus'. Media outlets have no fecking clue. Pathetic how many people fall for this crap.

Feck, they did not leave us enough time to prepare a bid!!!

They have Ribery, Robben, Costa and Coman. This summer Bayern will sign Coman who has been great for them.

Ribery also said:

"Money is not the most important thing for me," he told Germany's Bild newspaper. "If it were, then I would move to China.

"I had an offer, but I'm not interested in that. I want to have fun here with the fans and win titles with Bayern. This is my club.

"People love me here. Ribery and Bayern - we belong together. It's special and emotional - it's simply amazing."

I will just leave this here to wet the appetite. It's the hope that kills isn't it?

Ronaldinho did the same, he went to barcelona :(
Yeah but we were good back then. We are rubbish now, he's clearly bought himself for the right wing and got us winning trebles every year

Never seen him play yet I'm somehow desperate for United to sign him.

I am such a transfer muppet, it makes me sick.

Hahaha yeah indeed. It's weird, only a couple of years ago if you took Ribery and Benzema out of that French attack - they were fairly screwed. Shows you how quickly things in football can change. Matuidi-Pogba would probably be first choice. Or last I checked they played both with Schneiderlin holding.

Lass Diarra seems to be first choice in the holding role now. Schneiderlin didn't even get called up this time around, N'Golo Kanté took his place in the squad (Kanté deserves it, but Newcastle's Moussa Sissoko is still in instead of Schneidi, baffling as it may be).

The Dembélé-Martial-Coman lineup is pretty exciting, but i think Benzema will be at the Euros despite everything. And even if he isn't, Giroud is pretty much nailed on as his substitute with Deschamps.

Thanks for the update joe. I haven't watched a France match in a while, so I'm surprised to hear Lassana Diarra is back in the frame. This is the same Diarra of Portsmouth and Madrid? Where's he playing atm anyway and I assume he's doing well?

Yeah can't complain with the Kante inclusion either. He's been the best dm in the league this season.

It's the same Diarra, indeed. He's playing for Marseille atm. Marseille are woeful but he himself is incredibly consistent, carrying the team and lining up class displays. He's a one-man midfield, basically. Deschamps likes some experience in his squad, and he broke into the first 11 as soon as he was called up again. I can't see Cabaye or Schneiderlin displacing him now.

Back on track, regarding Dembele, whe probably shouldn't be talking about the France squad just yet, never been selected, and his chances of being in the Euros are very slim.

I guess that's where France differ from England then. If he was English then after the strong displays he's put in so far this season the papers would be full of "Can Dembele end 50 years of hurt?" etc.

He looks a really special talent. Given our poor our right flank is we should be breaking the bank for this sort of talent.

Agreed. I really wanted us to sign him as him and Martial could be like Ronaldo and Rooney were for us back in the day. Seems like he's off to Dortmund though

Rennes are playing Monaco now on BT Sport Europe if anyone wants to have a look at him.

The right wing spot is supposedly one of Jose's top priority.
The player has to be good enough though. Players like Mane and co would improve us but they're small fish when compared to players with top class natural ability.

I'm not sure Mourinho would want to bring in a kid for a hefty fee. He'd probably want a more established name

He made a £40m bid for Stones and made a bid for Martial too last summer. I think he is more than willing to buy a high potential talent

Apparently Dembele won't cost that much anyway. €25m according to some french posters in the other thread
