If Barca sign him for a staggering 150m. after one top season, in which he wasn't even that crazy good, he'd better stay for 8 seasons + and play great football consistently. Anti-Qatar clause is a must.

One of Dembele or Coutinho will come probably.

I think Dembele to Barca is a matter of time, Liverpool seem determined to hold on to Coutinho tho.

€150m is a lot. That basically takes vast majority of Neymar fee. No Coutinho then I guess.

Bild in Germany confirmed it. 120€ Mio + 30€ Mio possible. Very good deal for Dortmund.

Good for both Barca and Dortmund. He's going to be a monster in a year or so. Barca get Di Maria and a couple more signings for the Neymar money and doubtful they will be weakened too much. But the focus of attack is always get the ball to Messi and Neymar rarely saw even half the action that Messi saw which hampered his progress so same could happen to Ousmane.

Is he even that good? Also, from what I've seen, isn't he better on the right, where he can cut onto his left? Unless Barca move to a diamond, where Messi will play behind Suarez and Dembele or vice versa (Dembele behind Messi and Suarez) then Dembele will have to play on the left wing.

Id say not bad business by Barca... Dembele and Di Maria should be able to compensate for Neymar. Really strong starting 11 they have

Ousmane Dembélé to become the world’s 2nd most expensive player after Barça reach agreement with Dortmund

Ousmane Dembélé will sign for Barcelona after an agreement was reached between the Spanish club and Borussia Dortmund in Monte Carlo this afternoon, according to L’Équipe.

A definitive figure has not been revealed but it is reported that the deal could approach €150m including bonuses, making the 20-year-old the second most expensive player in the world after Neymar Jr.

As reported exclusively by GFFN on Sunday night, the player’s camp has always believed that a deal was going to occur, a matter of when and not if.

S.H.

They end up buying an inferior player they could have signed without selling Dembele.

Seems like they buy Malcolm, a 20 year old brazilian from Bordeaux, for 40(!) million. Don't know anything about him.

But i doubt he would cost 40 million, maybe not even 20, if they didn't get so much money for Ous.

So yeah, right now i think selling Dembele is still terrible for Dortmund.

So apparently he won against Dortmund? Such a shame... I wonder why they can't just block him and bench him. In a world cup year, it's going to cost him his squad slot.

Highlights look like Emre Mor with a brain. Likes to dribble a lot, but also has the vision to see and play a decisive pass. If they get him for €40M. Well done. Leaves them 60M for a defensive midfielder.

It is still terrible for Dortmund.

Why? He was never realistically going to stay long-term anyway, unfortunately Dembele is a Barca-level talent and Dortmund are just another one of those clubs a rung below who are at the mercy of the truly elite.

Maybe they could have hoped to have kept him a bit longer, but they could never have envisioned that a year after signing him, Barca would have a 200m war-chest intent of blowing most of that on a future superstar and Dembele throwing his toys out the pram so badly trying to force a move.

They'll survive, they always do. They'll invest that money smartly in other top quality talents and the cycle of developing them and selling them off will probably continue.

Dembele and Dortmund was never a marriage meant to last, everybody knew it was a stepping stone to one of the big two in Spain assuming he developed well. The best they could do was develop him and sell him on for mega-money and they've done that.

Because $$$

They would NEVER get the same price for him again.
What makes you say that? It's not like players will get cheaper in the future, and it's not like Dembele can't keep developing. He could be worth even more 2 years from now.

Players will get cheaper in the future, as the current rate is unsustainable.

150 million for a 'developing' player is madness, no matter what way you look at it.

BARCA board are under intense pressure to get something done, so that's what they're doing.

It's the same scenario as when Barca received 60m Euros from RM for Figo and blew 40 million of that fee on Marc Overmars, 21 million on Gerard Lopez, and another 15m on Emanuel Petit.

RM with Figo won the title, Barca finished 4th behind Deportivo and Mallorca.

We'll see how they do this year.

He's just so raw it's unbelievable how much money he's going to go for. I have a feeling he'll massively flop.

That's so dumb, why would they do that? They got him for close to nothing in today's market and a year later he's the second most expensive player in history. You're also not going to win any popularity points with future players who may want to join your club if you have a talented player like Dembele benched for the whole year just to try and make a point. This worked out for everybody, and Dortmund made an excellent piece of business.

Okay, now it is believable: Because the Ruhrnachrichten reports it. Just as an explanation, they are the media partner of the club and so closely connected, that our Press secretary is usually a former reporter from Ruhrnachrichten...

Qataris fecked the market, it is what it is - beginning of summer, this deal even after Neymar would've been at best 20% cheaper but I never believed he was transferable for less than 100 million. If Pogba went for what he went for, he always had to go for more...for me.

He comes about a year too early IMHO but I also thought Neymar wouldn't adapt as quickly even 2 years older. Ousmane surprised me too with how well he progressed from Rennes in such a short time. It's undeniable, I feel, that he is a special player so you not only want that as a Barcelona fan but to see how he can develop further with Messi & Barcelona's style. Going to be great for Les Bleus, too, going into a WC year

I don't expect him to hit the ground running but I have no doubt that ultimately not only will he not be a flop but he will become a greater player

How Messi reacts to lost balls?

Forsberg to Dortmund?

Contract till 2022. And plays for Leipzig, which is basically Red Bull. A company who has a firm vision for their sport investment, which is huge. And selling players is not one of them. Expecially to national competitors for the Champions League spots in the Bundesliga. Not going to happen.

Dortmund even without the Dembele money now is in the position to buy from every club in Germany except Bayern and Leipzig. Money wise.

There are rumors around Malcom, who is currently playing at Bordeaux. But if i would choose one target, it is Julian Brandt from Leverkusen. Throw 50-60 million at them. I think that woul do the job, because he has a release clause around 20m € next year. The only doubt i have is our ability to convince the player...

Deschamps dropping him

You gotta love Les Bleus, they lose before even the first whistle
 That's not the question and it's not as if he was undroppable for France.

He's supposed to be fantastic and the other day kicker said Wolfsburg are trying to byu him but can't afford the fee of around 30m. However, clubs know BVB will just have been shat all over with $$$$ so an extra 10m is to be expected.
