I'm not anti Scottish, I just wanted Moyes out.
Our first official match for season 13/14 is now only 20 days away and yet still no summer signings. Varela doesnt count and Zaha's purchase was planned last winter.

Woodward and Moyes aren't exactly starting off on the right foot as far as planning transfers for the new season goes.

The countdown is now 20 days, do you think we will get any players in and ready to play before our first match?

If not then I don't mind volunteering to play.

I'll get me old Predators out of the cupboard.

Signing players late in the window doesn't correlate with the quality of the said players, does it? Rooney, Berbatov, Rvp... If we get to sign Fabregas or Bale or Ronaldo on August 31, what does it matter?

Its not the end of the world no, it does however mean the will miss playing Chelsea and Liverpool.

Our current squad/ first team are more than adequate to take them on. Don't sell ourselves short. Don't think the new signings would be thrown in the deep end right away. They'll need some time to gel.

Yea. It is not a disaster indeed. Kagawa and Cleverley might not be world-class to many, but they can play a bit at CM. Might be a good opportunity for that kid Januzaj as well. We'll be OK without new signings. We're not that desperate in my opinion.

I knew moyes would let us down. Small time manager. We're no better than Arsenal or Liverpool (rafa/Roy-era) when it comes to signing players for gods sake!

The current squad is more than adequate for the realistic expectations we should have, even without Scholes and Fletcher (for now).

There aren't many marquee players left on the market, so the idea of signing nobody of note shouldn't be too scary. We all crave at least one central-midfielder, but we're used to that not happening by now and yet we still somehow get by. I'm sure we'll add a squad player before the end of the window (Garay seems likely from what we've seen, though if it was as "done" as people seem to be claiming then I'd expect him to have apart of the touring squad) but by the time of the Community Shield I'm not sure we'll have done much business at all.

20 days is not that short amount of time, especially when Eddie is finally hauling ass around the globe.

Early, this upcoming week, You'll hear official verdict on Cesc's future and as all the tournaments and vacation time for players is pretty much over, it will speed up the process of things.

In 20 days the cafe will revert back to the reasoned, intelligent and knowledgable community we all know and love

If only the summer transfer window was just one month (July). We'd be nearing the end of all this nonsense.

Has this been the worst summer here ever?

In 99/00 Barthez, Taibi, Fortune, Silvestre and Bosnich were bought for 18m.

In 00/01 no one was bought.

In 02/03 Rio was bought along with Ricardo.

In 06/07 our only purchase was Carrick.

In 08/09 there were Ljajic, Tosic, De Laet and Berbatov on the last day.

Take your pick. This summer has in no way been unusual. People have short memories.

Ideally any new signings would play some part in our pre-season, that's my only concern on this matter. With regards to the identity of the players - whoever we sign, we sign. I would really like them to get some time to bond with the team on tour and get integrated into whatever system Moyes wants to play. A new manager/style will be change for everyone, if things were more stable under Fergie, then new late additions would not be as bad as the rest of the squad already knows what they are doing and can assimilate them more easily. If we are working on a new system/style that the players are getting used to - and then we bring 2 new players into it on August 31st again, our start may not be smooth.

Nobody is even falling for it anymore

We could get three wins and 2 draws from our opening 5 matches and people would still be all doom and gloom saying we are in decline.

Fergie was constant though. This has felt like a more tumultuous summer because of the upheaval caused by the retirement of one of the best managers ever.

I think confidence would've been higher had we been a bit more decisive in our transfer dealings.

On reading the thread title, I thought this was about the poster being excited as the season draws closer. Entered the thread thinking about how I cant wait for it to start either. But its another of those transfer moaning threads. Tiresome. Going directly from the homepage to threads doesnt tell the context before somebody asks why I didnt see the forum.

It's far worse when we draw away from home.

A loss and its the end of the world

Just wait for a loss under Moyes. There probably won't be that many people panicking, but you can be sure there'll be hundreds of people sneering at 'everyone else' for panicking.

Not. Sure. If. Serious.

FWIW, RvP's signing was announced by the club on 17 August last summer.

At that time Fergie was there, but now Moyes just seems to talk rather then buying players.Moyes is making us a laughing stock in the transfer market i think Everton fans are right regarding the shit way he deals in the transfer market.

I'm a little frustrated with the way things have gone so far, but I don't understand why anyone would be embarrassed.

We went for Thiago and he understandably chose Bayern. We're going for Fabregas and we don't know the outcome yet. Did you expect such a transfer to wrapped up in no time?

Deep down you also know we will never be able to land Fabregas,so i really can't see how Moyes will able to improve the squad,he shouldn't have opened his mouth regarding Fabregas and transfers when he can't produce result.

That's not true. Deep down, I have a sneaky feeling that this story has legs. As I've said in the Fabregas thread, the transfer may or may not happen for a number of reasons, but I think the story has some traction.

You're coming across as though you'd prefer us not to do anything, so as not to risk rejection - that's a bit silly.

Possibly, although I don't get what that has to do with anything I wrote.
