It'd be great to have van der Vaart playing for us some day. I think his mother is Spanish though and I remember reading an article about him a few months back where it said that he favoured a move to Spain eventually.

he's a different type of player.
van der vaart's better in centre midfield.. i think he'll be the long term successor for Davids, in the Dutch national side.

Realistically though. The likes of Cisse and Ronaldinhio will probably be switching clubs sometime in the near future. Players like Henry and Ballack probably wont.
Aaaah, I thought you meant 'any' player, realistically speaking or otherwise. Realistically, Gudjohnsen would be an excellent choice as a support striker, an area I feel we need strengthening.
I wouldn't mind Quaresma either.

Can play in Hole, can play left wing. He has that magic that we lack so badly, good attitude, English, a spark.
Ronaldinho isnt that good. He is like Veron only he runs with the ball more. That said he is not a very good 4-4-2 winger. He would stroll around like Veron - he doesnt have any electricity about him or SNAP or va va voom like Henry/Bergkamp/Cantona.

I doubt whether many people would agree with me but i'm a big fan of Jermaine DeFoe. I think with the kind of midfield we have he could really thrive
Cisse would thrive in the prem, so direct, and powerful.
Ronaldinho could be the perfect feeder for RVN, but I wonder how creative he would be in the physical prem? Zidane for example has the strength to hold off defenders under pressure and still make the killer passes.
Van Der Vaart of those mentioned, is the one that looks well suited to 'our style' of quick passing game, but hes' too young yet, i've seen him get bullied about, maybe in a few years.

Ronaldinho will be here @ Christmas in my opinion therefore we should do all we can to sign Rafael Van Der Vaart. The guy is unbelievable, he's just got to become a united player don't care what it takes!!!

I prefer Duff over Ronaldindo. He's british and plays in the EPL. So, he doesn't need extra time to get accustom to English football ala veron.
