Olympic Forum

When there is a need for a General Chat Forum, an Entertainment Forum, etc etc... you do not see a need for a Forum for a Games which will involve the best athletes with the highest standard (breaking world records etc) in the world competing one and other going for the highest goals in the world!!!

Some logic!

I bet you have never taken an interest in watching (taking part in) sports other than football? Those sporting events are quite interesting to most of us you know!

Calm down, gal.

Like I've already said, I'm neutral, it all comes down to interest among the Caftards - The General and Entertainment forum are alive because people post in them, it wouldn't make much sense creating a forum of the Olympics if only a few users bothered posting in it.

There's not much time for watching anything else than football when I spend around 15 hours weekly watching football. Though I will probably be watching the Danish handball teams if there's nothing else to do.

i am very calm.

Fact of matter is, you automatically assume that there is no interest from anyone except a few, when you yourself have no interest! (although you can say I myself am doing the same thing, assuming interest from others! But you can't deny the fact that people who are disinterested can be made interested, whereas the opposite could not be said! i.e. those who are already interested will not likely lose interest)

The chance of football fans liking other sports and chatting about it with fellow members are higher than say in a site which contains movie fans for example.

So why dismiss it as useless so readily??

I do think that a poll like this will not truly represent democracy! :-) unless the neutral can vote 'Don't care' or 'maybe', and those objecting will have to give a reason (legit) for an objection!

Fair??

Demand - how many 'yes' votes there are. Caf doesn't do democracy.

It doesn't matter though, I doubt the admins can be bothered enough to start a pole.

You not see what I did there? Olympics? Pole?

I truly believe that the neutral should come out and vote Yes! :-) Top can make fun of athletes by doing what he's best at, by creating gif etc. :-)) There can also be chances for posting of the most good looking athletes (or the least for that matter!) It will be fun cos everyday you will be watching (and reading about) it so what's better than having a forum designed for it? It's like discussing Current Affairs!

No I'm not, you're not listening - I say, if the interests low then there's no reason to create it - I've not said anything about the actual interest as I don't know it, in fact all I've said is that it comes down to interest and thus activity imo - low or high.

Stop putting words in my mouth, eh post.

Other Sports happen 365 days a year, whereas Olympic Games happens once in 4 years for a few weeks. It is special and deserve a special designated Forum!

i only have sex about once every 4 years too, i think i deserve a special designated forum of my own to discuss such a momentous event. i am off out on friday night and am feeling lucky so get to work mods/admins.

What did you mean then when you post this:

I think we can all agree that an Olympic Forum would be a waste of space.

Top, what's the benchmark then for you? The minimum level of interest to make it viable?

What did you mean then when you post this:

Well that was quite clearly a joke/grinding your gears, you should be able to spot the moment I turned serious.

And can I just point out; this was a defeat for Baz, surely we can all find comfort in that.

How hard is it to create a new forum?

Don't see the big problem to be honest.

Yeah Harmison was going for his 50 and ended up being 49 not out.

Anti-climax.
