Been a member here for nearly ten years and have always just lurked and read, but yesterday was too much for me.

My thoughts aren’t massively unique; I wasn’t impressed when we decided we had to offer him the permanent job after the PSG game (we were never in danger of having him poached away from us), and I appreciate that he’s corrected the course of an otherwise sinking ship in his three years here.

But, he obviously has a ceiling, that has been apparent, even when he was on his record breaking away run or pulling out results against City etc. His style isn’t consistent, it isn’t sustainable and the effect of his game plan falls apart as soon as we move beyond using the first team players.

I was content following these forums in silence, but yesterday was humiliating to watch. Seeing the video of him smiling and signing autographs after the game didn’t sit well either. Not sure what I expect of him, certainly not Koeman treatment, but I would’ve expected a modicum of shame to appear so soon in public.

Just massively disappointed and frustrated. Cannot see an obvious end in sight any time soon. Just needed to vent.

On current evidence we’re probably not getting Top 4…

I agree it's not looking good at the moment but we have a Harry Houdini type manager who always seems to survive no matter how bad it gets - I bet he sees out his contract!

The board are not prepared at all. They are today probably trying to get Zidane and Co’s phone number, then speak with them for ages before making a decision in 2-3 months.
its all about considering, then preparing, then lowballing then then then then..

It’s a farce if this is allowed to carry on. Are they waiting for the international break? We’ve got Spurs, Atalanta and City in between that. None of them are fecking easy and all of them are important and season defining.

This board is as much of a shambles as the coaching staff. They deserve each other. We’re the only ones not enjoying this. It’s amazing for everyone else.

That is it. Morning has passed and Ole still has a job which means he will be a manager till the end of the season. How quickly people forget the last season...

Enrique ain't leaving Spain
Mancini has the ex City connections so is a no go
Rodgers has the ex Liverpool connection so is a no go
Potter? What has he done that suggests he could manager one of the biggest clubs in the world? Just because he has a regular regelation threatened side playing good football by no means equals with better players he could challenge

I dont know enough about the others to comment (hasn't Rose just taken a job?)
Erm and what exactly has Ole done to suggest he can manage one of the biggest clubs in the world - Cardiff. He’s proved he can’t over and over.

It is crazy to think he's on 7.5m a year. Imagine us giving that much to a former manager of Cardiff and Molde with no other experience. We reward mediocrity.

His new contract is 3 years. I suspect, like most managers contracts at the top level, it will include conditions for termination such as not reaching top 4. If that is true, then until one of those indicators have been breeched then his contract would need paying out in full. Do you think the Glazers will give the green light to giving Ole a £30M payout for being rubbish? Not a chance. In fact, if we don't make top 4 this season, they reduce the wage bill by a quarter and that would easily be a big saving than the CL money next season.
Ole is here until we are mathematically not getting top 4 or another performance clause is busted. Jose was further down the line with his contract I think.
Obvs, I'm hoping I'm wrong and he gets the boot regardless.

The first clip is shameful. Fine for a brief boo at this stage where we're at to show discontent. But verbal abuse can feck right off. Alas every club will have their section of fans going over the top.

Fine with people walking out, that's a peaceful way of showing it's not good.

I doubt they’d make any decision so quickly. I’m pretty sure Jose was sacked on Tuesday - 2 days after the defeat. Although I had moved to Aus so it may have been Monday uk time

Neville and Rio must be on the board.

They're also moderating our Twitter account probably. They need to fecking step aside now and let the club and fans move on. They'll forever be legends but we've not won a title in almost a decade and the fans new and old deserve a new chapter. Ole and his mates still remaining here after yesterday is beyond an insult.

I think the club are just caught with their pants down. It never crossed their mind they'd need to sack Ole and find a replacement so they're scrambling for a plan now. Do we put Carrick in charge for a few games? Is there another Ole that could come in as Caretaker? They'll be making all sorts of calls I imagine right now. Ole might keep the job simply because there's no one immediately to take over.

Whether it's time for Ole to go or not - we'll be relying on those who run the club to get the right man in. Who the hell is that? We shouldn't be digging around in the bin of "which managers aren't taken" for a manager to take us forward for the next few years. Our club sat by and didn't go for Pep or Klopp, drowning in hubris brought on by the success Sir Alex oversaw. We need to be sacking the Glazers first and foremost. Not football people, and even worse, just leeches on the club.

Exactly. Theyre a cancer in this club.

It was clear after the PSG win (when he started his permanent tenure) that he was not the one. That 3-0 defeat at home to relegated Cardiff was the moment. I backed him regardless and had many false dawns where I thought, ‘hmm, maybe he can do it’, but now it’s clear that the signs were there from the start of his permanent tenure.

Also, I still think the club will pull the trigger over the next two days. They can’t be that impotent? Surely?

Remember gents it is only about 7-00 o”clock in the morning in the USA, plenty of time left in the day for the axe to fall.

I normally would never want us to lose under any circumstances but looking at the next 3 games I hope that either this was the kick in the a** that completely changes the way we play and sees Ole coming out with a totally different approach or get spanked by Spurs, Atalanta and City as well.
The worst thing would be to get half-decent results while continuing this awful style of football.

the club is an even bigger clown show than I thought if they haven't at least considered the possibility over the last few weeks and looked for possible alternatives. I means, it's not surprising, but that level of incompetence is staggering.

I think he'll be gone by the end of the week.

Really weird that people are assuming he's not going to get sacked because it hasn't happened by noon the following day. Smacks of childish impatience.

I dont think hes gone before our next game

I don’t think the team have the ability to mentally recover from that defeat, and I don’t think the coaching staff have the know how to stop this rot without going ultra defensive and trying to keep clean sheets, which will not sit well with the fans who are expecting United to make a go of the next couple of games.

He won’t get sacked this week, he’s got credit in the bank from previous seasons work. He’ll get this tough run first to confirm the sacking. The Glazers are that out of touch that they will be worried about preemptively sacking a club legend and fan favourite.

I really think the board want to sack him but they are fearful what the likes of Zidane and Conte will bring. Potential discourse further down the line, short term vision and not being yes men. We really are in a bit of a pickle. On one side I understand we need to sack him ASAP to prevent further embarrassment and on the other we need to think really carefully who we hire next. Looks like no approaches have even been made yet.

Can't help but feel sorry for Ole, he's never going to fall on his own sword and the Glazer's aren't doing the obvious thing. I fear it's going to get more and more toxic and he doesn't deserve the abuse.

Credit in the bank?? For what? Losing a Europa league final and winning nothing? Our standards can't have fallen this low, surely.

Looks like he will be given 3 games. In that time we should be making approaches for other managers.
Literally the only reason I can think of. Maybe they don't want the new manager to face those games from the start.

But surely, going into those games without a coach wouldn't really be any different. Looks to me like they are giving him one more chance to come out of this with those games.
