As expected then. If we continue being this shit, he'll go. People are in a world of their own if they think he lasts the season if this slop continues. Shame the axe should have already swung weeks ago though.

'finally untenable' thats pretty good going for the 'first' blip.
bunch of amateur jokers running the show,
(yes i know about not taking tweeted comments as gospel...)

from yesterday:
#mufc are insisting to several agents who have proposed alternatives to Solskjær that they take a “long-term” view and current circumstances are a first real blip in his three years as manager of the club #mulive
@lauriewhitwell

from today
Although a high-level source at #mufc has indicated Solskjær could remain in charge until the end of the season, if he fails to improve the club's form over the next month then his position could finally be deemed untenable by the United hierarchy #mulive @samuelluckhurst

Feels like the people in charge of the club are masking their lack of ambition for trophies with talks about long term planning and "culture."
A key component of which is signing a nearly 37 year old Ronaldo, obviously.

The “hard working young British core” talk seems to have been quietly dropped ever since the signing of Bruno. Sancho is presumably a hangover from it, but nobody got round to telling whoever signed him that the strategy had changed.

Beating Watford will be enough to satisfy them and we all know it. They're clinging onto anything to keep him at the helm otherwise he'd be gone.
100%, if they were serious about that he would've already been sacked after being humiliated at home by our 2 biggest rivals.

His position is already untenable but the club will continue to stick their heads in the sand and grasp at anything to delay the inevitable at the detriment of our ambitions for this season

I'm struggling to see why the upper hierarchy at United want to keep him in the job.

I mean yeah, a new manager will request quite a hefty transfer budget and firing this fraud will make them pay him 10-15 milion, but that will happen next summer anyway.

Well for a start, firing him and hiring someone else will involve some form of effort/work .... and I reckon they try to avoid such trivial things where possible.

Yeah, someone might break a neck or something while picking up a phone and doing some work, dangerous stuff for United employees.

It’s over to the players then.

fiveuk According to reports, The Manchester United board have made the decision to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but only when a replacement has been lined up. [MEN]

Hope to god that's true, but we all know it's bs.

Because he's a "comfortable" manager for them, won't ask for too much, won't put too much pressure on the board, SAF knows and likes him..

Basically, if he can't make top four - which would be more impressively shit than I think is possible given the squad at his disposal - he'll be sacked. Talk about setting the bar low.
BEcause the Glazers dont care if Utd ever win a trophy again, its irrelevant to their plans or concerns. Which is why bar is set so low for Ole. Plus Woodward doesnt want to go out with a track record of 3 complete failures in terms of his managerial choices, while Arnold doesnt want to be dealing with a new manager. Though these concerns are only allowed given the first point, the indifference of the owners to onfield success beyond top 4.

Yeah, you had a serial winner at your disposal and he wanted to join us badly. You weren't even remotely interested in him. Now talk about sacking the manager after 2 months.

Conte until 2022 would have made perfect sense and we could have had lot of options in the summer of 2022 with World Cup being over.

Some random guys over internet can plan better than these bonkers. Pathetic!

He's a yes man who won't rock the boat, go to loggerheads with the Glazers about fees for transfers and won't show the shortcomings and severe lack of footballing knowledge from Woodward.

Looking objectively (and optimistically) the sounds coming out seem to indicate that he’s gone at the end of the season, regardless. That MAY indicate that our next boss has been identified and could indicate that it might be Ten Hag, or another in work manager who wouldn’t want to leave mid season.

For what it’s worth, I’m still convinced it’s Rodgers

Christ, talk about being in between a rock and hard place.

Can't wait for this season to finish, don't want next season to start.

If it's Rogers, we wouldn't wait until the end of the season I don't think?

I honestly think Ole has people backing him that have the Glazers ear.
Whether it's Fletcher or Ferguson, if Ole wasn't a Utd legend, he'd of already walked imo.

The other angle is that the board want someone easy to deal with. Regardless of why he's still here, it's clear as day their is significant incompetence at the top levels of this club.

A severe lack of strategy and forward planning, the feck was Ole given a new contract when he had a year left and his performance in the Europa league final showed that level was too much for him. Deer in headlights in second tier Europe comp at United should never of been rewarded with a new fecking contract.

Even if you had a top manager with suitors wantjng him in, if they came up with that Europa league management.. fecking hell just wait a few months into the new season.

Amateurs.

We got spanked by Leicester, Liverpool and Man City in the space of a few weeks. That was not enough to get him fired and in fact, the board rewarded him with a holiday.
For him to be fired, we'll need to get beat by almost every team in the coming weeks and because our squad is so stacked with talent, the likes of Ronaldo, Bruno and DDG alone will win some games for us....without any tactics.

Without a deeper change in how key decisions get made, it won't really matter who the next manager is. We aren't being run like a football club, and the people making key decisions need have half a clue about what they are doing.

Delaying the decision is going to harm the club big time. The player now know that their manager could be leaving any minute, and at best he'll be leaving at the end of the summer. When Fergie announced his retirement in 2001 he noticed that the players aren't the same after that. The moment they knew he was gone they started to relax, and we're talking about Fergie, Imagine playing for Ole now.

Ole is a dead man walking, and he knows it. But it'd be dumb of him to resign and lose millions. I wouldn't. He must be having the worst time of his life though, which is a shame because I love the man.

This indecision is going to be very costly for the club.

Let me get this right - he gets to go on holiday, with the team in the midst of a crisis and everybody and his dog saying he’s doing a crap job - whilst we get to go into work for the next 2 weeks to be subject to the banter of all and sundry because of our team’s awful attitude in the last month of football - sounds fair that, ole! Enjoy your break - have a drink on us, mate whilst you put your feet up….I was ‘ole out ‘ before but I suspect this is taking the urine just a little….

Everyone is entitled to a holiday.

Do you know how many hours per day and days per week Ole has worked? Do you know how many holidays he has had?

If not then your comment and opinion are pretty worthless just like if I slagged you off in public if you decided to have a holiday next week.

I would imagine Ole and the boys will be on their way to Newcastle and preparing for boxing day match on 25th while most people are stuffing their faces with turkeys, how dare they take a holiday.

Do you ever have a few days off with your wife and kids?

Yeah just look at how they would this was his first serious blip in charge, omg are you actually kidding me

Will be able to have plenty of holidays when that trigger finally gets pulled

I think anyone, in any business, would warrant criticism if he goes on holiday right when the department he's in charge of is in crisis.

If the department needed to react the next day maybe but with no match for two weeks, and half the deartment away working for another business, then the perfect opportunity to reset and then still plenty of time to prepare I don’t see what the fuss is about.

People seem to think think this is life and death and forget that Ole is a real human being that has worked his arse off trying to get this right. It was working out until recently and maybe he has taken us as far as he can but the abuse he gets and criticism is totally out of proportion and typical of people who have never met him and will never have to account for their comments face to face with him. Keyboard Whinger Warriors!

Honestly hate the fact the international break is over. It was 2 great weeks of me not thinking about this shit show.
