I tend to agree. There are now at least 3 teams in the PL that can outspend us, all of which have owners who are primarily interested in the prestige of winning trophies and being the best - unlike ours. Then you've got a handful of other clubs (Liverpool being the prime one) that are well run and can compete for top managers and players. 15 years ago we had the best ground, the best manager, the most money, the most glamorous reputation, and the most trophies...sadly I'm not sure that any of those things are true anymore.

Thanks for explaining why we suck and Chelsea can run a football club. Imagine giving a manager with oles lack of pedigree as much power as we have. It's pathetic
Chelsea, Madrid and Liverpool all did this for years - each have won the CL in the last 4 years.
The other winner in that time? Bayern Munich, who change manager every 2 or 3 years and consistently compete at the top of European football.
According to Romano, Ole is here to stay.
Is that the extent of your expectations from him? A half decent run of results against cannon fodder? Should the club not be expecting a bit more from a manager who is 3 years into the job, with over £400 million spent on players??
Like what ? Signing the most obvious world class players available coupled with buying terrible expensive players who don’t fit same style of play? Adding player after player without using them bloating the squad in the process and giving out contracts to players who he should have moved on long ago? Some solid foundations that. You have been an Ole apologist since the begining and still are a closet apologist. Never misses an opportunity to throw cliches without context.
No your missing my point. That is my concern, that we bumble along through these fixtures and get some results which might potentially lead the inept board/owners to stop progressing any potential talks with a replacement manager.

Last year Ole said there was not enough preparation time because of a shortened pre-season, now he's gone on a vacation when he had all the time in the world to prepare a team in crisis, this guy.
Got to hope Romano isn't as clued up as he comes across and he is just making an educated guess.
Just imagine being so afraid to admit you're wrong (the board) that you keep this manager employed. It's actually quite sad. All of them should be fired.
I miss the international break.
He’s fed us so many excuses, any that he possibly can. We naively bought them all. The reality is the longer we have to prepare, the worse we perform.
I’m putting this down to other teams having more time to work on tactics before facing us and them having smaller squads. Ole will never top what he did last season, games every 2 or 3 days suited his capabilities.
God listening to Romano is even worse than listening to Whitwell, gives you absolutely no hope of an imminent change at all
It was actually kind of refreshing to wake up on Sunday and watch a bit of Formula 1 for a change and get some work done around the house.
Things are too toxic with football / United right now.
Watford - They'll be well up for this game and know we're shaky as anything at the moment. Set pieces, rough-housing, hard work and running through the middle of the pitch. All things we're appalling at dealing with. If they score first, I expect we'll flap like we've been doing all season. Of course, Ronaldo, or someone else in our attack may turn the game, but it's not a fixture I'd put anything significant on us to win.
Villarreal - Bogey team + Emery, enough said. Again, most likely reliant on Ronaldo bailing us out as we get played off the park and out-coached at every juncture.
Chelsea - Bogey team/ground. Is this another for the Liverpool, City column of consummate humiliation? Most likely.
Arsenal - Arteta does well against Ole at the best of times. These aren't the best of times and compound of the games prior to this, we're likely to be disheveled by this point.
C. Palace - Vieira vs Ole (with the small matter of 100's of millions of pounds disparity between the squads) they'll absolutely have a plan for their visit. If the fixtures prior have gone as bad as I suspect, this one will be a nervy affair from the off and they'll relish that. They have nothing to lose and should be the ones coming to OT to get hammered, so the pressure is off [them].
Young Boys - Have our staff learned a single thing since the last game, will they be able to cope with Young Boys' pressure and pressing? Yes, I am talking about the giant club Manchester United having to cater to proverbial blips in the atmosphere because they've already shown they can handle us.
For the sake of our season, I'd love to be wrong, and we get through this set of fixtures intact, but that will only be by the good grace of a few of our players going super sayajin, which, in my opinion, is a total unfair and unrealistic ask in the climate we're dealing with.
If Ole doesn't learn to effectively rotate, we're going to be in a state by the time that run of games has ended, too.
So that's why it's an alarming set of fixtures, in my opinion.

Problem is get through these fixtures intact and you wonder whether they will pull the trigger this season at all.
Predictions:
Watford - 3-2 Win
Villarreal - 3-1 Loss
Chelsea - 3-0 Loss
Arsenal - 2-1 Loss
YB - 4-1 Win
Ole safely into the easiest run of fixtures of the season.
United will ride the storm till the Arsenal game then we'll get positive results vs Palace & Y Boys and it will be Ole at the wheel once again. The likes of Gaz will portray 2-3 good results as if they were United's biggest achievement since the treble.
I think thy will need to go Ultra Instinct form to get anything out of the season.
God when will we get someone to coach these players properly again, wasting such a talented squad on him is hard to stomach
If someone had told you after the transfer window ended that somehow we would not be looking forward to watching a united team with ronaldo, rashford, bruno, greenwood, sancho, varane...well you'd think they'd be off their rocker!
Yet here we are, not even mid way through the season in such a dire situation with absolutely nothing to look forward to in the league! I couldn't care less about the 'battle for top 4' - that's not where we should be aiming for as a club and especially after the money we've spent!

Another reason I'm saying what I am is that Varane is injured, as is Pogba, Ole doesn't play VdB, so we have 3 midfielders, one of whom cannot play a full game, let alone a run of fixtures, coming up against a number of aggressive and energetic midfields who will have been told, specifically, to get at our midfield because it's been shocking all season.
Maguire should be targeted by every side we face because he's been prone to mistakes in most of his games since he got back and has a huge amount of pressure on him. Basically, all the rifts in our side, it's any decent coaches job to try and widen and exploit. Sides have shown they're better at doing that then we are at dealing with this season. Why would it be different the other side of the international break - what, exactly, will have changed to address our issues and prevent them from being vulnerable spots to target relentlessly?
We need softer fixtures than these to get our confidence back, I feel.

I think a loss to Watford will see him gone… a draw may save him until we get beat of villareal… and if he manages to stay until our next home game then it will be interesting to see if the fans turn on him… that’s what it might take… that’s what it took spurs to sack there’s… saying that though Solskjær survived a 5-0 hammering to the scousers and all the fans walked out at halve time so it makes you think if you can survive that then you’ll survive anything!
He has to be mostly guessing to be fair.
The only people who truly know what's going on regards Ole are Ed and Joel Glazer, and I can't see them being willing to share any info.

Not being rude but if you think we are getting to summer and then not hiring Brendan Rodgers you are crazy. He is the clear heir apparent and I am pretty sure if they could get him in now they would. Alas, he will be here next season.

Here we have a manager lucking his way into one of the biggest football jobs in the world and also surviving about 900 sack worthy situations but some of the posters on here can still manage to write that Zidane won three CLs luckily. Any manager at a club with any iota of ambition would have been sacked x10 times by now. But we are special.
