People might not like Saeed but just listen to this video. We are back where we were 2 years ago, when he should have been sacked back then. Relegation form then, relegation form right now.

Clearly they didn't want Pochettino to be manager badly enough otherwise he would have been appointed this time last year when he was available and not tied up in a job with PSG like he is right now due to our yankee ditherers

Some ridiculous overreactions to the Rodgers rumours. He's not the manager I want but he's still a good manager and would comfortably be the best manager we've appointed post-Fergie.

Yeah he's not my top choice either but OMG he is ten times the manager that Ole will ever be

He was on the verge, having lost in the CL and then he started playing the McFred duo and we won a few games in a poor lockdown league.

I can see them thinking it's just the same like one year ago, we're fine for 2nd. Problem is, it won't happen because we have several good to world class teams ahead of us and a whole league full of well organised teams who cannot wait to play our travelling circus.

We are doomed. Rodgers is good enough to keep us in top 4, but not good enough to challenge or win any significant trophy. The Glazers will keep him far too long as well. Just go for a top manager in the summer after appointing a caretaker now.

Yeah we won 3-1 at Everton and he was never under any pressure again until after Europa League Final defeat

People may rip it out of Goldbridge but he made a good point today when he said IF these managers wanted to manage this club bad enough then they would be prepared to come now rather than wait it out until next summer, makes you think they aren't actually that keen on the job if they want to see how things are in a few months time. Villa have shown that if you want a manager bad enough already in a job then you can get him right now but with us it's all about trying to do it cheaply.
Not really. We knew Ten Hag won't come mid season. Conte was desperate to join us but we didn't want him. Poch would have joined us too if he had joined PSG earlier (it's not even an year yet)., Zidane doesn't speak English and he never wanted EPL.

Everyone else is still attainable but we don't really need them. Mihjt be thinking Rather wait until the summer and get Ten Hag or Poch.

Feck, I do hope that's the reason.

By then they were deep into their Solskjaer project.

Yeah bloody joke and not a damn thing we can do to change it either, keep hoping that the winners in that dressing room will finally be willing to speak up about his ineptness before it's too late to save this season

If we pay LCFC for Rodgers, alongside the Maguire fee, we'd have invested more in their squad than their bloody owners.

If they haven't done it so far, I don't think it'll be happening. I mean, what else do they need?

Rodgers would be as uninspired manager signing as I would expect from the Glazers. We won't win anything but make top four, the Red Army will sing and the Glazers would keep collecting dough.
Seems like with a competent manager and the millions of dollars those horrible Glazers keep providing year after year, if we can stay comfortably in the top 4, getting to the top 1 is well within the team's grasp. We should look at why we keep putting incompetent people in management positions at Utd.

It's like a little kid wanting a lollipop. Work for a lollipop!

Not sure that click bait news is as much of a thing overseas as it is here. Ten Haag to city would certainly seem plausible with the forethought their board have shown before, knowing guardiola is leaving in 2023 and him playing a similar brand of football.

We’re fast approaching a situation that’s more toxic than the Jose one simply because it’s been allowed to fester.
You yourself said they weren’t from reputable sources. So…

I don't agree. Even if a job interests you, it's clear Ten Hag for example has huge respect for Ajax, would put them in a very difficult position mid season when they are doing so well.

When you couple that with the fact that we are a shit show with so many question marks at the moment, it's easy to see why a manager who could have his pick of teams would prefer to wait until the end of the season

Ole was a game away from being sacked last year but then went on an incredible run, beating Arsenal's away record in the process. He does deserve enormous credit for that to be fair. I think the board expect him to pull off a similar miracle this year which is why they're dithering, but it's not going to happen this time as he's lost the dressing room (and lost confidence in himself).

Surely we can pull an interim from somewhere until the summer then could at least enjoy our games again, otherwise things stay like this and cannot see me being able to get passionate about any matches at all

We cant afford to do that. We need a manager more than they need us. The squad is bloated and with players that are hard to drop. This isnt a club where you can rebuild, someone joins the club and has to deal with the headache of selecting players for the best of the club and trim the squad later on, its most likely that he has to challenge for titles in one year top and save the currenr season. He also needs to find a way to get the best out of these players, building a system to accomodate them. Ronaldo is also always going to play unless when he needs a rest, its an unwritten rule. The current pressure is much higher than when we had a team of young and darmian in my opinion.

Sent him to Norway for a LEGIT vacation while having one of the worst runs in the club's history. I wake up out here hoping he is gone.

I'd take Rodgers now tbh but we need to give him a shortish contract and be on a lookout to upgrade on him if better option becomes available. Enough of this manager needs time bulshit.

Totally agree with you but sadly we will always adopt that moniker to prove we are a "proper" team and not a ruthless machine like Chelsea but just remember how much they have won over the past decade whoever the manager was

Ole himself attacked the fans, he said the louder ones are not the good ones. The majority of the fans are now loud and wants him out.

I would still really like an explanation as to how Ole has put the club before himself, or is this just an empty platitude meant to sound good?

Ye, that would be my appraoch, not sure the board would be open to that though. Ragnick did come as a bit of a left field option, before the rumours about him started popping up, that possibility never crossed my mind - but one thing he does know is how to modernise a club. Ideally, we bring him in as an interim, then give him a position that overlooks our footballing approach at the end of the year where he can choose an appropriate manager, whether that's Ten Hag or someone else.

Malcolm! I've been calling him Avram the past few days.

I just don't get the feeling they know what to do and are reliant on others to see them through. Unfortunately, those they've entrusted are not competent... and here we are.

Doing the background on them would be right up your street, no? Would be amazed if they're displaying any nous or savvy across their ventures. If they are, you could at least say they just don't understand the inner workings of football, but my feeling is that it goes deeper than that.

They could be making so much more off Manchester United by just having it run correctly. I don't think it's a mere oversight that they cannot get it right after 7 years (Daddy's death) of trying.
God is it that long since he died? I've no idea how their other ventures are faring, but agree they could obviously be making far more of United as we lose new fans to City and Chelsea, looking at from a global plc point of view.
I can see the appeal of doing feck all and getting a divi cheque for several hundred million every year.

The only reason we are linked with managers under contract is because the Glazers want the excuse of keeping Ole (their nice yes man) in charge for longer. That's what I believe.

There is no explanation. The logic on this forum now is
1. Why did he not walk?
A. No one walks away from that much money.

2. So he is just after the money like any other guy, then why use terms like legend or cares for the club?
A. OMG! How dare you suggest that? He loves the club more than any human on earth.

Words such as love, care, belief are being bandied around. Well when all logic fails...

The fact he is getting yet another game when he's already had two more than he should makes me proper disheartened
I read somewhere here that if Ole was in Madrid he would've been sacked at least 4 times. I think he was totally right.

Appalling that that was 2 years ago and reads like it was posted last week. We're even worse now than then, and so much of what was said is even more evident now as we have better players doing the same things.

Even if you want to remain at least neutral and not go in on Ole, the evidence is absolutely damning.

If not just pure blind loyalty, I marvel at those who genuinely believe he can suddenly turn things around. He's so far out of his depth that it's cruel for him not to be put out of his misery.

Ole absolutely believes he's capable of turning this around, to say he should walk if he loves the club is a bit silly really.

These guys are hardwired to believe in their own abilities, especially former players like Ole, to back themselves is all they know.

Pretending he doesn't care because the board are too dithering and inept to identify a replacement and handle this properly is ridiculous. He will look back at last season, finishing second, look at the positive runs of form and think he's able to get back to that, regardless of what peoples interpretation of those things are, he will believe he can do it again, the moment he doesn't he shouldn't just leave United he should retire because all managers need to believe in themselves ffs.

I'm sure he does but seriously not bothered how many defeats we suffer whilst he is the manager because I know in my heart he should have been booted out the club after the scouse hiding and can't stomach any more positive results under him. Yes I know top reds what a complete plastic arsehole I am and should feck off and support one of our rivals vut the feelings just aren't there.

Feel like apathy has set in. A lot of people will stop bothering with us while the younger generation will gravitate towards City/Chelsea. Glazers seem to have actually gotten me to the point of not bothering what happens with United.
They will ride this out from the looks of it, while showing the fans the finger. Ole smirking thinking what gullible idiots we are to even think he would be let go irrespective of how bad we are.

Only hope now is for the players to tell him to feck off and stop trying. Hope all the fans in the stadium show them the same leniency that they show Ole.

Yeah I have totally lost interest in the club at all and his smirking face is the worst part of it all

Oh no, I woke up from a dream that Ole had been sacked. Like I actually dreamt about it and now I’m back in this thread living a nightmare.

The horror, the horror.

Notion that Ferguson doesn't want his achievements eclipsed is laughable. Have you not watched and listened to the man over the years? One need only look at Matt Busby at OT in 1993 and Dalglish, with his Green Goblin grin, at OT the other week. They love their respective clubs and want to see them succeed.

It’s a ridiculous notion. What I would say though is that Fergie recommended Ole and Phelan, and is pushing like hell to keep them, because he would love it that little bit more if it was his apprentices that did it.
That would no doubt be the same story for 99.9% of us in fairness.

Absolutely. There's not one United fan who didn't want Solskjaer to succeed. He may even have had an advantage over the other post-Ferguson managers in that respect.

Gosh, I wish in his farewell speech to the OT crowd, Ferguson had said, "Demand the same standards from a United manager as I have demanded from myself and my players in my time at United."

That would have made most of the fanbase intolerant of the absolute sh*te the Glazers and Neville and the Top Reds have forced down our throats the past decade.
