We showed progress last season, finishing second in the league and reaching the EL final - unlucky not to win it too. How we went from the promise of last season to this mess is a mystery, but I wouldn't entirely attribute it to Ole.

In any case, if you believe his failures as a manager have absolutely no effect on his playing days, then you also believe his status as a club legend is still firmly intact. Thus calling him a Ole Ole Ole I love you, fraud or whatever is not valid for a club legend like Ole. It only serves to make the poster look silly.
I take issue with anyone saying that reaching the Europa league final can be seen as progress. We got knocked out of the CL group stage for heavens sake. That's not progress for United. That'd be progress for Wolves or Everton.

Please nobody start a would you take Daniel Farke or would you take Dean Smith thread.

That's not the point I was tryng to make mate.

Wonder why he thinks this is worse than being relegated.
I think a lot of United fans enjoyed the subsequent season where we got promoted back up so with hindsight you can say something good came from something bad.

What else would you attribute it to?

With the difficult period out of the way, and an international break to reset and recharge, we can come back stronger and find our feet.

We can start picking up serious points in the league, and we are still top of our CL group.

Ole Ole Ole I love you.

9 points off the top.
9 points of the relegation zone.

We look nicely balanced.

It is Fridge, spamming the twitter thread in busy transfer season with lower league nonsense. And now he is putting in a controversial opinion. Surprise

On the face if it that sounds great but with context we were top of the league in January and finished 12 points behind City, lost 4-2 to Liverpool at OT at the end of the season and we played for penalties in that EL Final against Villarreal.

For all the positives Ole's flaws were clearly on display by the end of last season.

Good lad. They are prepping us for the sack.. making up heart felt stories. Love it. Ole inners lap it up… Old school United fans have had enough now. Your safe to join the rest of us.
Yeah. I’m now a fully paid up member of Ole-out since the Leicester game. Most of us old boys have reached the end of our tethers.

I’d usually be the last to kick a man when he’s down and I’ll always love the guy but I can barely imagine forgiving him for what he’s done in the last 6 months. From appearing to be cruising to 2nd and a EL win, we’ve gone to scraping 2nd, losing the EL final and have descended, without any exaggeration, into relegation form, taking some humiliating hammerings on the way. I mean feck him now. Feck him. It’s beyond a joke.

Not to mention the state of our rivals, Chelsea had Lampard for half a season and Liverpool had all their defenders injured for a significant amount of the season.

It was a one off lucky season.

Real Madrid only consistently dominated the Champions League with a long term manager and core of players. Chelsea won so much over the years; but it's never felt like a monopoly to me.

Why does it have to be a monopoly to constitute as success? Considering that’s what the initial point was.

Please can you give us some context and more explanation with regard to your post.

I have no idea what you are talking about or saying.

Thanks

How in the actual feck is he still in a job?!

Surely even friends of the Glazers must be asking this question now as well? I mean even if they don’t really give a shit about football surely the embarrassment of owning a club performing this badly should be enough to force them into taking action?

More context also states our squad was still miles off of City's and Liverpool's last season.

It was the closest we've come to a league title in terms of pts to the winner in the post Fergie years.

He deserved to start this season as manager, what has happened since is an incredible implosion akin to Jose's in season 3.

Round and round we go in circles.

It's Sunday night where I live and cannot believe he's still not getting sacked. Please can this week at least end on a high note, I need some happy news for a good night's sleep :(

5 managers have been sacked in the league this season while we're riding this out

443 people on here have voted to give Ole more time.

I mean Jose actually won his EL final and got more points in his 2nd place season but yeah, Ole has worked miracles on a tight budget.

What's funny is that what Owen is talking about here is what Ole was saying when he first came in. He wanted, young, energetic players that would work the hardest in the league and play an aggressive attacking/ pressing game. He weeded out the characters and players that he didn't feel fit his style and for a short while it felt like he was on track and moving us forwards..

However, somewhere along the line he's forgotten any sort of philosophy or style of play- brought in players that don't compliment a pressing system and now seems totally clueless as to what to do next. We are stacked with world class or potentially world class attackers yet he cannot get a tune out of them, He's totally lost any kind of direction and needs replacing ASAP

Your opinion on whether we showed progress last season is nowhere near the point lads.

This point is this, you can air your greviences regards Ole's management of the club without resorting to childish name-calling.

That's all ;)

The Glazers couldn't get Conte in time after the Liverpool game because they had to give ten days written notice to the New York Stock Exchange before they changed managers, but hopefully with the international break they should just about be able to make the deadline in time for the Watford game.

I agree, apart from having some better players has there been any progress made? I don't think so. I hear about the recruitment being better, yes and no it's fair to say. Solskjaer has spent £400 million and two of the big purchases he made can't find a place for them in the team.
