He’s had three years to build his squad to a level where we should be able to compete with City and Liverpool. Instead we’ve looked like absolute gash. If he’s still in charge against Watford it means he won’t be sacked for a while.
We're going to fall further down the table with Ole in charge. We'll be comfortably sat in mid table come the end of the season if the board continues with him. I've seen mid table teams put up a bigger fight against City and Liverpool than United has in the past 2 outtings.
Ed Woodward is and was always the problem at this club.
He is now going to pass on his duties to one of his mates so everyone should expect more of the same from United for the next decade. We're going to end up a mid table team with the current board if things don't change and change quickly.
And by change I mean putting a passionate, experienced football head in charge of the football side of the business that has an idea of where the club should go. But this is United and the easiest or most simplest solutions are often the hardest.

We could have saved this season with Conte as caretaker until the summer but now look that shipped has also sailed. Bunch of fecking clowns in the board at this club.

I honestly think the board have literally no other idea other than wait for Poch to get sacked by PSG. They're happy to write off the season and wait for him.

This is one of the reasons why although we are one of the world's biggest football clubs but will always find it tough to be a winning machine like Madrid who are less reliant on all time great genius managers like SMB and SAF creating an era greatness. We simply do not demand excellence. As a fan base, as a football club.

I am not saying Ole should be United manager; far from it. But apart from Bayern and possibly PSG in modern times, when have a club ever consistently won the big trophies without a long term manager?

The crazy thing is, the board haven’t taken into account that aside from the Spurs game, the team could have lost every game they’ve won. Look at the UCL group, we should be bottom of that group if it wasn’t for Ronaldo

It’s sheer incompetence from the board if they let this continue. Do they actually want the fans to really turn on Ole? Because things will turn nasty if this carries on much longer, club legend or not.

It's getting to the point now where I can freely say the club don't give a feck about us or the product they put on the pitch and nothing will change it. @pocco, hats off to you, looks like you were spot on about the media brief after Pool.

I hate that the most cynical, distrusting view of anything our club does is correct. Just been burnt too many times by their briefs. At this point they are just shitting on us supporters. We let them off the hook too easily with the briefs.

Beat Watford and he's safe for possible humiliations against Chelsea, Arsenal and Palace. Just can't imagine he'll be sacked now.

Imagine that fecking bean counter Ed Woodward's long drawn out departure paralysing an entire multi billion dollar operation. If the club is run like Waystar Royco on Succession, please tape that and I'd rather watch that than the shit sundae being served on the pitch.

Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid? Basically all the elite clubs. SAF and Wenger are the outliers, not the norm. Stop fecking dreaming of another SAF appearing, it's never going to happen. This is reality, and our reality is that we are fecking horrendous right now. Loyalty for the sake of loyalty is fecking dumb and retarded.

Seems like it doesn’t it?

Rightly or wrongly, if Poch was without a club, I reckon he’d have been at Carrington within days of the Liverpool debacle.

Plz no Poch….. don’t go for managers who were successful…. We saw with LvG and JM…

We need proven upcoming managers who are still success…..

Poch hasn’t won anything and frankly there are better options out there….

The thing is he was without a club. For a very long time. Ole should've been sacked a long time ago, a time where Poch was a free agent. If they were such a big fan, why didn't they hire him then when it was already clear to some of us Ole wasn't up to it. I'm not Pochettino's biggest fan but he is several levels above Ole as a coach.

How is that possible?

It has to be the right manager though. You can't just stick with someone indefinitely and expect them to come good.

After 3 years Klopp had gotten Liverpool to a CL Final and Pep had won multiple trophies at City. There are just no signs of anything under Ole.

It speaks volumes that Norwich have sacked their manager when they've picked up more points from their last 5 than we have. If Solskjaer isn't gone this week I actually despair, it's past the point of negligence.

I don't get it, Norwich have been awful all season & didn't sack their manager, then they finally win a game & they do sack him.

Unsackable!

Is Ole's dad the real owner of MUFC, is that why it seems he is as you say unsackable?

I'm a swing voter. I've slept on it and have decided that I think we ought to give Ole more time. He's got an easier run which will build confidence.

Chelsea, Barcelona?

Chelsea have been successful but I've never felt they've ever been consistently dominant, in the same way City or United of old were.

I'll give you Barcelona but they had a clear philosophy implemented for years alongside a strong core of players.

Ole inners are basically Tory voters who can admit everything they do is awful but will never vote for anything else

What is a "long term manager" which duration is your metric? What is consistently winning big trophies?

Kloop has won 1 PL & 1 UCL, Pep has never won a UCL since 2011 Man City have only played 1 UCL Final in all their existence, meaning other managers are winning the said trophies who i guess by your own calculations are not long term managers.

Zidane, Flick, Tuchel, Kloop won the last UCL only Kloop is on the same place in a space of 3 years of winning it (either by being new comer or being moved on) Flick & Tuchel were less than a year in winning it, Zidane after winning it left in less than 3 years of the win.
Allegri has won Serie A titles with Milan (2011) and Juve in the last 10 years
Conte has won Serie A titles with Juve and Inter in the last 7 years and EPL title with Chelsea in between

Meaning long term managers do not equate success as short term manager do not equate success, success is synonymous to good managers, a good manager will almost bring success even in short period of time.

Real Madrid only consistently dominated the Champions League with a long term manager and core of players. Chelsea won so much over the years; but it's never felt like a monopoly to me.

Madrid also had the most expensive team ever assembled

My goodness!!!! Really? That’s really low.

P. E. Teeecher is not even an abusive word. It actually describes Ole’s abilities in a single word. Actually, I have seen P. E. teeechers with more tactical sense than Ole.
Ole is not actually that bad if you look at stats. He has just reached his level and it isn't where we want to be. He absolutely has to go but lets not make out he was totally rubbish. He has done some things right and his win rate isn't actually too bad. I think he will end up managing in the Championship without all the 'worldie' egos. That's probably his level. The longer this drags on now the more painful it is to watch. I don't respect the fact that he hasn't walked. Shouldn't need to be sacked.

Your full-stop key appears to be sticking.

You can't be consistently dominant anymore with all the money and rivalry in PL. Chelsea have been easily the second best English team since Fergie retired - 2 titles, 1 FA cup, 1 CL. Only bettered by City with 4PL titles and 1 FA cup.

Real Madrid are also sacking managers for fun. They are on their fourth manager since 2018.

There isn't a single top club that isn't changing managers quite often until they click with someone.

The longest serving managers in today's history are Klopp and Pep and in Pep's case he's at most 5 years at a club.

Ole is currently in his 3rd year, winning absolutely feck all and being on the verge of sacking at every one of those 3 years. It's crazy.

The whole clubs with stability win more than hire and fire clubs is one of the biggest myths in football, perpetrated by pundits on TV because it sounds good, but it isn't supported by evidence.

Firstly the reason the myth perpetuates in the first place is because if a manager is given time, they are probably doing well, while a club hiring and firing probably isn't doing well like Man Utd for many years.

Secondly Chelsea show the entire concept is complete bs to begin with. In the Roman Abramovich era, Chelsea have won more trophies than any other club, and it's not even that close (they have won 17 major trophies, Man Utd and Man City both have 13).

Indeed the vast majority of successful clubs around Europe operate on a hire and fire approach, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, PSG. So this idea you need stability to win is just utter nonsense.

All good then.

Act the big man against mighty Watford, say we can put the City game behind us, lose to Chelsea and say we don't know where it came from as we'd shown good form against Watford.

Man Utd have a good squad. There are players who are either rushed wrong or not at all, like DVB and Sancho. Ole doesn’t rotate well and he has no system, he just looks about and observes what other coaches are doing. Pep, Klopp and Tuchel have their own systems. Ole doesn’t have a clue.

At this stage in the season, with this squad, Man Utd should not be the same amount of points away from first as they are from the relegation zone.
