Completely disagree. This is a fair expectation from someone who is purportedly a "club legend". Gattuso walked away admitting that things won't work. And he didn't take the compo either. That's what legends should do.
Gattuso was on peanuts. Ole has at least £15m worth of contract left. It's the board that need to do the right thing here.
We aren't the ones feeding Ole's family. He has every right to look after himself and she should.

Agree. So you should agree that he's not a club legend. Just another clam hanging in for a payday.

Him looking after himself doesn't mean he's not a legend. Fergie took the owners of the club to court. Does that mean he's not a legend?
Only a fool doesn't make himself the priority. People should respect that. Ole is a legend nothing will change that.

I’m convinced he won’t be sacked after supposedly being given 3 games to save his job. He’ll keep getting more of these sets of 3-game evaluation periods until he wins enough to make it seem like we are going somewhere. “Mulligan” is threatening to become his favorite word right now. Watch out, “DNA”.

I see the poll is topping out at over 101% for some strange reason.

However, it is abundantly clear that the large group of coaches, including head coach OGS, is incapable of getting what amounts to 5 defenders to keep a clean sheet once in a while.

This is not something new, but something that has festered for a long time without remedy.

For that reason alone, the coaching team should be dispensed with forthwith.

This is why we need to stop celebrating non achievements like top 4 and focus on quality of football and trophies. People who do that saw this shit coming but were with the usual nonsense of 3rd/2nd place, brought United back, SAF needed time etc. We have wasted three years that could have been used to actually coach our team to play good football but nah.

How on earth is that comparable to a person who knows he has zero ability for the job on hand and is yet making the most of the resources that the club has to offer thereby putting his own interests ahead of those of the club? A bootlicker would not take the clubs owners to court. Stop with the inane Fergie comparisons.

Once this is over, so is the respect that he had accrued as a player.

Actually cant stand to see his smiling head anymore. I used to respect Ole but he should have walked seeing as the board as so inept. He obviously only cares about that paycheck. He is literally stealing a living and doing a lot of damage to the club nowadays. Fergie can do one too for persistently backing an amateur like Ole. He should just be quite and retire gracefully. I do respect legends but it's maddening how they have so much power when they shouldn't have any. Sick of ex-united players and managers. They all do so much damage.

Gary Neville, who gets so much hate on here for being a poor pundit, left his player's contract midway through a season when he knew he couldn't cut it at this level anymore. Didn't he have a family to feed?
Anyway, it's absolutely hilarious when someone says he has a family to feed as if he is living off of state spared crumbs. The guy is a multi-millionaire. Again not saying he should resign as it's his prerogative to do so, but then the sanctimonious calls for his legacy to not be tarnished as he is "justifiably" looking after his best interests should not be made.

He could still come to a mutual understanding with the Board to tender his resignation and also get a decent payout. Happens all the time at senior executive levels. So it's not like if he resigns, he will be entitled to nothing. He just needs to show the will to actually look beyond his own self and actually mean when he says he cares about what's best for the club.

We are talking about multi millionaires. Man, they could survive for years on savings alone. Hardly going to be roughing it on the streets if he walks.

The funny thing is that it has all been abundantly clear since the spring of 2019 when our form tanked as soon as the season arrived at the crunch.

Fans who have supported Ole all this while (especially since the second half of 19/20) owe us and themselves an apology.

That's another one of the Ole-inners' myths that has been busted in recent weeks. Ole might be a club legend but he cares for United as much as Mourinho did - not at all.

A "pay as you manage" contract then?

It's getting to the point now where I can freely say the club don't give a feck about us or the product they put on the pitch and nothing will change it. @pocco, hats off to you, looks like you were spot on about the media brief after Pool.

Somehow turn this into praising Jose, typical

Remove the name “Jose” from my post and read again and tell me which part of my post is not true.

The truth is that, most of our fans (they had their reasons) and the so called legends hated Jose and wanted him to fail even before he managed the first match. And these lot started to stir the pot at the first sight of trouble. Now Ole is doing a worse job with a 10 times better squad and many of them are silent.

As @Solius The Red mentioned above, “If this shit was going on with Mourinho, there’d be riots on the street”. And this is not an exaggeration.

The only sane response I can have to this is that Ten Hag is the pick, but he's refused to come now. Because if i think anything else i might just stop watching for the rest of the year.
We need a caretaker. We are sinking.

Even then though... wouldnt you want him to at least have CL to play for next season? Shit... even EL? At this rate were not even guaranteed that.

It's always hilarious to see Jose fans trying to rewrite history, coming up with "it's understandable why he set up defensively" as if he was ever attacking manager.

End of the day, Jose was Shit, Ole is shit. So was Van Gaal. We hired pile of shit as managers after SAF.

Neville was on legacy contract with only few months left ,his retirement hardly made any financial difference to him at all infact most probably he got the whole contract paid out to him anyway .
Whereas Solskjaer is set to lose millions if he walks out now it's not a fair comparison at all.

I highly doubt that. This is the board that needlessly gave him a three-year extension, and previously needlessly gave him the permanent job. They are that incompetent!! Like what sane persons would want him to manage their football club besides the damn cultists at United.

A lot of fans reactions was needed yesterday but still some clapped for him. The board has totally no respect for the fans at all. Our club has lost its dignity big time, If you look at our games this season at our home no such club would accept that, big or small. And still no news about any thing or any decision from the board.

All the more reason to just play down his contract since he was barely playing at that time and wasn't actively harming the club's chances of winning silverware. Yet he had the moral consciousness to step down and give up whatever it is he would have earned.
Now compare that with Ole who is actually bringing us down to his absolutely horrible managerial levels and causing such a divide in the fanbase, yet people want you to believe that he has the club's best interests at heart. He doesn't and let's call that spade as one.

There are some serious imbeciles running this club. I'm infuriated.
All the noise about us having turned a corner in how we are run seems to be just that - noise. Three years on from the Mourinho tenure and we're still a bang average football team. The more we try to change the more it seems that this fumbling and stumbling about in the dark caricature of a football club is indeed just what we do.

I really don't think this necessitates a long debate. Putting himself above the club doesn't mean he doesn't care about the club. He's not a billionaire. £15m is a significant amount of money for Ole. Especially as he's extremely unlikely to find a similarly lucrative job in the future.
Secondly, he could still be genuinely convinced he can turn this around. That's his prerogative.
All our anger should be at this extremely incompetent board who are derelicting their duty.

But why would the club have any respect for fans if our own fans have no respect for the remaining fans either? For the last 2 years anyone who dared to say a negative word about Ole and our shambolic performances, was quickly silenced by Ole's cultists here which we had plenty of at the time. Our fanbase is partly responsible of the shite we are going through, that nonsense about United DNA or rebuilding jobs would never ever fly at any other big club but we happily support that crap.

The Board are absolutely wretched. Doubt you will get any arguments from anyone to the contrary. However that doesn't preclude Ole being in this for himself. The way we set up against City was classic preservation tactics and nothing else. He could have been braver or done something to show we had an aspiration to win the match. In the process if we get mauled (which we did, just the scoreline didn't reflect thus because of DDG), we would be confirmed something that is already known that Ole isn't good enough but one could still cling to the United ethos and how he tried to attack but just isn't good enough to get the team to do so like we can with these players.

With that cowardly set up, it just reaffirms that he is absolutely rubbish as a manager but also adds that he wants his payout rather than worry about what's best for the club.

As for the second point, if he still believes so then he is deluded and think it's even more reason for us to get ourselves as far away as possible from his managerial reign.

In the meantime, the longer he stays, the worse his legacy gets tarnished for me personally.

Doesn't matter. They all failed, they all failed to even challenge for league.

It's like argument between McT and Fred, who is more shit.

I wouldn’t say that these last 3 years have been a waste. The Moyes-LVG-Mourinho era was a complete waste,in those 6 seasons the club went nowhere. But I actually do believe that we have moved in the right direction over the last few seasons…But Ole has taken us as far as he can,so we now need to make a change.I actually believe that the next Man United manager will inherit a much better squad than what Ole inherited…But we desperately need to make a change now.Mauricio Pochettino would be my 1st choice to take over as permanent manager next summer…But I have no clue who we can get to make something out of this season….
