The depressing thing about the Daniel Taylor article is although he is based in Manchester nowadays and writes on United a lot, he doesn't even support the club, so there tends to be very little sentiment in his pieces.
We need to hear something from Odgen or Luckhurst to really know what’s going on.

So we’ve played appallingly in 2 of the 3 games he apparently had to save his job, and the other one was against a Spurs side so poor they immediately sacked their manager… I’m guessing it was bollocks then? Cos if not, and we keep him on, we’re basically saying thats the level. Beating Spurs… and a really bad Spurs at that.
The weird thing about their approach is I bet the board would probably admit themselves that they would sack him if certain fine margins were different. If we hadn't fluked a last minute equaliser against Atalanta for example, and lost today, the chances of him getting the sack would have increased by 10. Likewise if City had added a couple of goals in the 2nd half and won 4-0 today instead of 2-0 and the crowd emptied on 70 minutes, the chances of him getting sacked are so much higher.

There is no concept of the big picture. The question they should be asking themselves is
1. Does Ole have any clue what he's doing?
2. Are we confident we'll meet the bare minimum top 4 this season?
3. Is Ole ever going to win us a league or champions league?

When the answer to these questions are a blatant no, individual results and performances are completely irrelevant. If you have someone who is incompetent in an important job you replace them with someone competent.

I can't believe a multi billion pound business could be this badly run. These are decisions a man off the street could get right. How can you get to be a decision maker for Manchester United and not have the slightest bit of common sense.

I hope you're right, but he's already survived a 5-0 drubbing to Liverpool, why would this be different?
I wouldn’t say he survived the Liverpool result. I think they are lining up the replacement.

It is only my reading of the situation. It will happen before Xmas for sure. In some ways, the performance vs City was worse. Vs Liverpool, we were trying to go toe to toe with them. Vs City, the setup was defeatist. He was just hoping to get a draw.

Tbh though there are very few fans at this point who don't think Solskjaer should go. It's probably like 10%, it might go up if we get a few wins with some, but I can't imagine the overwhelming majority don't think the club would be better off with a new manager at this point.

Needs to be put out of his misery, but our board won't do anything until the season is a write off even though it is still salvageable at this stage.

I've never thought Ole was the man to take us back to glory days, but where has it gone so wrong? There was a time when at least we looked well organised defensively, and played with aggression and some sort of intensity. Remember all the talk about running stats? For a short period, it looked like we fixed that. Yet here we are again, we're still way off our peers.

To me, it's naivety of the highest order. It's like, the more we've spent, the more arrogant Ole and this team have become, thinking that we can now take the game to big teams. As if throwing money at the problem will eventually turn us into a force to be reckoned with. To hell with a plan, we have world class players.

That's the only way I can describe the horror of the Liverpool and Leicester games. In reality, our game has not evolved one bit under him, we've spent all this money to camp on our 18 yard line at home to our biggest rivals with a back 5, and wait to be suffocated to death like some pathetic animal without even putting up a fight.

Newsflash, we were doing this two seasons ago, with people like Williams, James, Pereira and Lingars in the squad. The sad thing is, we look even more clueless now, 400m later. Today, we couldn't even string more than 2/3 passes together

And the bench today.. Telles, Sancho, DVB.. these are guys he has bought, but aren't in his plans? We have to suffer through Fred and Bailly instead, and to think that Ole could be here still in the summer, and backed in the market again... This summer we just needed a right winger and a pacey CB. Now we just need a CDM, Rice will save us, just like Sancho and Varane have, right?

Ole needs to go, there has to be no other option. I'm sorry, I know the players aren't faultless here, but when the entire team looks disjointed, when this many players are way off the pace, it can't just be down to player responsibility. They look clueless on the pitch, and no matter how often we hear the likes of Keane and Neville talk about passion, desire and all that. There is no explanation for how a group of players this talented can look this bad other than coaching.

Enough has to be enough. Ole has been steering this ship aimlessly for long enough now, anyone could see that. Seems like we've finally hit the iceberg though, but let's not be surprised if Woodward and Co. decide to watch us all sink instead of doing something.

There was someone here during this week who made a post that contained the exact line “A United legend at the helm is a dream I’ll not give up on so easily” and went on to reaffirm his support for Ole.

I would still be stunned if he's sacked mid-season.

I am pretty sure the board will screw us over on getting top 4.

The only thing keeping him in a job is the lack of a ready successor. He'll cling on and then we'll go down in flames after the international break.

It's the end of the road for Ole. Everyone knows it apart from the Glazers.

Ole's leaving the club is the easiest part, then what comes after that, the real minefield of bad decision making and overall chaos combined with spending spree hype on every fancy player out there.

Most difficult things still ahead of this club.

Yes, but they're very much in the minority.

Financially speaking, it’s probably the same missing out on champions league (remember players take a pay cut) vs Ole team payout. So it’s a neutral decision for the club i.e. no rush

Agree.

I thought he’d survive Liverpool when everyone thought he was certain to get sacked. Not certain he’ll get sacked after this, but his immediate post match interview with Sky seemed different. Can’t explain it. Either he’s finally internally realised he’s nowhere near good enough or he knows it’s ending.

I genuinely hate his face. He better not be here for the next match, I don't think I could stomach the sight of him.
He is out of his depth . But that's a bit harsh. We can all agree that it's time for a change but to hate his face ? Ole imo does love United but he was handed the Role and I reckon he can't believe his luck, however his luck has run out. This does not take away from the fact he is a club legend . Bad decision to keep him on and not get a Top manager after his caretaker role.

They said they were going to wait until the summer before making a decision after Jose, (was a good plan), only to swiftly renege, getting caught up in fan hysteria, appointing Ole after a few decent results, so I just don't trust them one bit to have an actual plan in place now.

I can see them trying to ride this out through the break, and Ole just going again.

Definately, the Liverpool game was delusion from Ole thinking he could go blow to blow with Klopp & press them after a week's training. By the City match he's been firmly aware how out of his depth here he really is.

I hope you're right, it all pans out soon and we can just move on from it all.

If blind people were legally allowed to drive, you wouldn’t hate those that drove (although with the best tech most would cause less wreckage then ole) you'd hate those that made it legal for them to drive.
