Rangnick, Favre, Valverde, Blanc. All competent managers which truthfully Ole isn't
 
I’m an Ole out guy now but I don’t see the alternatives. Feel like we just have to stick with it until the end of the season now. Also hope a proper coaching team is brought in now, we need experts with experience and not people learning on the job.

What use is a caretaker manager , really?
How long do you give him
What happens if things get worse
What happens if they get better
Would you let him loose in the transfer market
Who in your opinion has the managerial/ tactical abilities to see the club through the season is available and is currently despite all that not actually fit to be the right person for the job?
 
If it is between the Brodge and Southgate it's a no-contest. Has to be David "Brodger" Brent. I think Gareth would be a dissaster.

That would have surely helped, but its too late now imo. I also find it bizzarre that Ole constantly praises them as "brilliant, exceptional" and whatever adjective he want to throw out there, but if they really were we would have seen that on the pitch instead of the complete mess we are right now
 
15 games in and still haven’t won more than 2 games in a row. The erratic results go way back into last season and we only put together a 5 game win streak after being humiliated at home by Sheffield United. You could clearly see we were out of any ideas near the end and the luck ran out hence we struggled so much at the tail end, then obviously have taken an even bigger nosedive this time round. Any other big club and he would never have got this long. Seeing him smile last night after another fluke result made me nauseous.

Then he compared us to the Michael Jordan/Chicago Bulls;, you know the same combo that dominated basketball in the 90s, after watching us scrape a 2-2 draw against Atalanta.

These players deserve a proper coach. How can anybody sit there and think he needs more time. How? What are they seeing that most of us aren’t.

Listening to the likes of ShoutSport and 5 Live in the days after the Liverpool match, as well as the odd TV pundit pretty much everyone I heard say a win vs spurs, a draw at Atalanta and not to lose horribly vs City were the minimum expectations - personally I think a win vs Spurs and Atalanta (as well as convincing performances showing we've learned something) were the minimum - all I want to see in the City game is an upward trend - but we regressed yesterday so that's already out of the window.

Literally 19 other premier league managers are a bigger upgrade. He’s hilariously bad. He would drag Liverpool and City down to 6th.
 
I think we should get an interim in until the summer and spent that entire time really assessing what we want in the next manager. There are plenty available for six months who are perhaps not what we’d go for full time (as said by others, like Laurent Blanc) but they’d have a better chance of improving our performances than what we have currently.

I had been behind Ole until the bitter end as I felt he’d built a squad of players I like however we are now playing terribly regardless of the personnel and formation, which tells me for sure him and his coaches aren’t up to it anymore.
 
Surely all of our nearest rivals benefit from Ole being in the job for as long as possible. Call me a conspiracy theorist but I wouldn't put it past City 'taking it easy' on Sat if it means Ole gets to keep his job.

I agree but I'm looking at it from the POV of the club, who won't make a change more till summer.

Just thinking out loud but I'd take someone like mancini in a heart beat until season end even it meant you lose him to Italy during the international breaks.

Don't think any international manager would go for that though. They he hounded by the media if their country faltered then

Guus Hiddink and Alex Ferguson have both done it but they had club jobs when countries (Australia for Hiddink and Scotland for Ferguson) came calling.

Apologies if I'm reading this wrong, but you seem to be suggesting that there is no other manager out there that could hope to do any better than Soljskaer with this squad?
 
I stuttered after the 'pool game for sure but am a 'give him the season' guy really. Give this team chance to gel, reward those who put the effort in and prove themselves.

A united legend at the helm is a dream I won't give up on easily.

Bailly saved our skin last night and should be rewarded for his efforts but it will be back to Lindelof next game.

I'm guessing you're not actually paying to watch us at OT? The guy is clueless as a manager. The fact he even got the job is a sentimental fluke, and he was also lucky that we'd already been through a few managers before he got the job, or he'd already be gone.

Ronaldo is literally carrying this guy, and do you know what, Ronaldo and the team actually deserve better.
 
Varane injury was so predictable. He was doubtful last Saturday ffs.

His desperation to keep his job is absolutely killing us.

The decision not to sack him earlier will haunt us for a long time.

Doubt it. Pep is a winner, you can hardly go in with a mentality of take it easy, that's how you lose. City are also coming off the back of a defeat, ie. have a point to prove, and can't afford another slip up.

Can you blame him ? It's becoming laughable. After one point, you do know that you can't continue like this. But our management still don't get it.
 
He isnt going anywhere this season. Our board has already decided to throw this season it seems.

Hopefully he gets it right and win something. Atleast have a decent run in CL and a top 4 finish and then we move on to new manager next season
 
The only reason this season hasn't turned into an unmitigated disaster so far is because he has Ronaldo now.

Still horrendous work from him and his team, probably the worst manager of any top 4 team in the big European leagues.

I don’t think that’s the reason at all, just the most people understand that it is a hell of a lot of work just to do one of the jobs let alone trying to do two at the same time. A club manager can never fully commit the time that is required of an international manager, and disappearing from your club for weeks at a time aint good.

That said, Hiddink, Fergie, Keegan, Dick Advocaat amongst others have done it for periods.
