Wow, some name with a twitterhandle ‘hears’ there’s a split on the board. Angry people who want ‘something’ to happen infer that the board must bedoing nothing, or that SAF is saving Ole cos he enjoys seeing United struggle, or we’ll lose 10-0 to City….get a grip people. I get there’s a lack of real info here but some of the opinions and ‘arguments’ expressed here show most people have no idea how any organization is run.

He won’t be sacked till someone creates a thread about how our squad is overrated, most our players are shit, and a new manager won’t change anything.

So true, because if there's one thing the last nine years have taught us, it's that Man Utd is an incredibly well run club from a footballing perspective.

Morbidly looking forward to his next press conference now.
Don’t worry. He’s gonna be in the dugout for our next game as per Romano. This club is ran by clowns. How can you put him out there after all the news today. Can’t imagine if we lose to Spurs what will happen

That thread won't happen until we're knocked out of the Champions League under Conte. Then it'll all turn out to be the crap members of the first team squad's fault and that we can't expect Conte to do anything whilst having them to pick from.

I gather you are against Conte's appointment?

I think that you’ll revert to the low block and hoof ball, that you’ve used against the better teams for most of the last decade, and get a draw or win against Spurs and the same against us.
There’s a lot of doom & gloom on this forum but, in all truth, you’ve got a fantastic squad and you’re in with a shout against anyone when you play to your players strengths.
It depends on which United will show up. There is a difference compared to last season as Ronaldo will no doubt play, otherwise there will be Armageddon in the dressing room. Most likely we will again have issue with Bruno and his positioning as he almost plays as a SS.

If the heads drop it would be a pummeling.

Didn't Conte just win serie A with Inter for the first time in 11 years with our scraps and deadwood?

Dobba is against everyone but Ole, basically.
We doing this shit again? I want him out, you've quoted posts of me saying it twice.

Forgive me for not jumping for joy at the idea of watching us play a back 5 every week and don't give me the bollocks about wingbacks, we don't have a single one at the club nevermind two. It'll be a back 5.

The white handkerchiefs were literally out at OT yet we're continuing onwards, like we're gluttons for punishment

Oh quit the bullshit. You "want him out" so that you can see the next manager fail with this squad too. That's what you said. Not because he has been a failure.
I'm now Ole out.

It won't change anything on the pitch but we'd at least get a laugh out of all the things now being attributed to 'The Cult of Ole' becoming valid excuses for the next guy's failure. Plus the chap who posts transfer tweets every day can put their feet up, as we won't be needing to make any new signings for a while.

He will coach the players to be organised defensively, he will coach them to be better at setpieces, he will coach them in attacking patterns, and he will coach them how to press as a team. All things that are currently lacking under Ole right now, and every top team needs, and something our team will be better for it even if we get an attacking manager like Ten Hag after Conte. For example, Tuchel is not that different from Conte style wise, and fans here love Tuchel.

The formation doubts even I have, but lets wait and see on that one.

As for being a winner, I would say only Zidane has a better pedigree than him in world football on current ability, and Zidane is not available. Who is this attacking manager you are thinking of that has a better CV than Conte and is available?

I would prefer Zidane over Conte, but I'm not overly fond of him either to be honest. I would rather we wait and properly plan for the right appointment, even if we have to wait until the summer to get them. We should not hire Conte due to him literally being the only option available to us right now. And that's exactly what this is, manufacturing a load of reasons to hire the only person publicly available. If there was a wishlist of managers, Conte certainly wouldn't be on it otherwise.

If it is an organisation that has a history of being poorly run with repeated bad decisions, it is not a surprise that people expect the worse. We have been notorious for rewarding mediocrity over the past several years and this cycle might very well continue.

It sounds like some are loyal to Ole and they're hoping to drag it out in the hope he wins a few games. It's probably why Neville is so confident in his assessment.

It's a joke they've not been preparing for this. A business United size with no contingency is reckless.

It's still not like the available options should be mysteries to them. Through our entire setup we must know a great deal of information on most managers and their styles. I expected we'd have had managers agents in touch over the last month.

Apparently it was fergie that stuck up for Solskjær when the board was having a meeting so it’s him that Solskjær has to thank for getting extra time. This is why it is bad when you have a bunch of former player/managers working for the club as they will always be loyal to each other and the club will find it hard to get rid of them. Look what happened at Chelsea when they got rid of lampard ffs.. the evidence is there that we can still win something this season if we act quick enough. Giving him the spurs game could end bad either way… we lose and we’re further away from top 4, we win and Solskjær keeps his job for longer. This was the perfect chance to sack him as we have a free game week and we’ve just been spanked of both Leicester and Liverpool!

I don't know if you are dense or in denial. But I will humour you.

I never said we should appoint anyone, only that anyone on the list will still be an improvement on Ole. Let's not play semantics.

As for interim managers...

  1. What is Blanc doing now?
  2. Where is Hiddink?
  3. Rednapp for a couple of months.
  4. Fonseca is being discussed at Newcastle, he could do a job until the summer.

We are talking interim here, they don't need to be a world-beater, infact you don't want them to be. Someone to come in, achieve par and get us to the summer. Their purpose is to replace the current regime and hold hard till the summer achieving top 4, shouldn't be difficult with our squad.

As for permanent managers. I would go for an interim now and Ten Hag in the summer. We could go for Conte now who would be a big change in style but has always been successful.

I do feel we need to move away from the past and in that respect Conte could be good. I'm hearing SAF has been at Carrington this morning giving a speech, at this point Ole is a puppet and manager in name only.

Uncalled for and won’t engage any further with you on this after this.

I agree with you that an interim until the summer and then Ten Hag is an ideal scenario. However when the names that spring to mind include Hiddink (last 2 jobs have been China Under 21s and Curaçao national team and has announced his retirement), Redknapp and Fonseca (by no means clear that he would settle for a caretaker role when he has the likes of Newcastle offering him a long term project) then it just goes to show there is no obvious solution to this right now.

And therefore I don’t agree that sacking Ole instantly without due consideration for what comes next can be the correct decision. If the club identify a suitable interim manager this week then great but I’m pretty sure if we rush it and are sat mid-table in April with Harry Redknapp as the manager then it will be far worse than it needs to be. And everyone will be queuing up to say the club were clueless for making that decision.

Ah yes the old cliche book will be taken out. We have got our heads down this week, we will bounce back. The players are behind me, we go again. Last weekend wasnt good enough for this great club. The players and staff are hurting.

Makes you want to vomit

Disappointed if the support from Sir Alex is true. Where is the man who let Keane, Stam, Becks & Ruud go when it was no longer in the clubs interest to keep them. Any support for Ole just reeks of loyalism to friends, there is no objective defense of Ole.

I'm reluctant to question Fergie even though I know he's wrong. But I'd love to ask him what his thinking is behind this if it's true?

I suspect it's more in line with the earlier reports that Fergie said to let him have the Spurs game. He's probably expecting a reaction like he would have got, no matter how short sighted that may be.
