If we need a caretaker who better? The fact that he’s in Qatar is why he’d be a possibility but this time a deal should already be done with our number one target so the caretaker knows 100% it’s temporary.
Oh how I’d like to believe our board were capable of such foresight. Alas, such a feat is impossible.

I can't see it's happening this week.

It's rare that anything at United happens quickly. If they are having talks about the future then they're probably only now deciding to see who's available if they were to sack him.
Carrick? He's English :wenger:

Personality is a big issue for me. He's a bit of a twat and some of the stuff he comes out with in interviews is a bit self-aggrandizing and makes me cringe. All that lark about tea and toast at 4am to come up with the genius idea of going three at the back is pure David Brent.

Also he's ex Liverpool but the main thing is I don't think he has what it takes to win a title.
Also has a portrait of himself in his house

Oh I think we will, at the end of the season. Same for the ajax dude.

I want conte as a stop gap, secure top 4, and look for someone long term in the mean time and appoint them in the summer.

Now, If he turns us around and wins the league or cl youll have to give him a contract of course.

I could be wrong but Conte doesn't strike me as the type to accept being a stop gap.

The first half ended 1-0, and it was 3-1 until the last few minutes when we conceded 3 late goals. Not to mention we played most of the second half with ten men and conceded 5 goals after that red.

Meanwhile we were losing 4-0 at half time against Liverpool and it was 5-0 before Pogba got sent off.

There's no contest. This 5-0 loss is the most humiliating defeat I have seen for United in recent time. Liverpool fans chanting Ole name and fans leaving the stadium at half time were embarrassing scenes.
Yup, agree with this.
The city result was actually a close game, and it was only our naivety at the end, chasing a goal, that led to the fluke scoreline.

The Liverpool game at the weekend was embarrassing.

Plus, City are a nothing club. Just a sheikh's plaything. Liverpool are our biggest rivals, our only real rivals, and to lose like that to them at Old Trafford is an utter disgrace and a sackable offence to any manager, especially one who has zero credit to his name.

When has that ever stopped ITK twitter gobshites talking nonsense. They just parrot the one main gobshite guessing because of the all the smoke.

True. Some of them have genuinely massive followings on the line but I guess most are probably just kids that'll follow regardless of how often they're talking out of their arse.

Did McCarrick extend?

I have some sympathy for those two. They are having to run the show whilst Ole and Shorts seemingly do sod all.

Don't fell sorry for them, they have limited if not zero experience on how to setup a team tactically.

Carrick and Mckenna might be okay coaches, but I think we can all see they are not elite or even advanced in any of coaching elements when it comes to team shape, playing patterns, movements and positioning. Maybe the are good at running seasons, but the tactical elements are shocking and have have been for a long time.

The only constant in this is Carrick and Mckenna because they've been here for a long time, longer than Ole - We'll need a full team not just a manager.

Yeah, I mean that was bad. I think he's kind of moved away from that whole charade though, hasn't he? He's had a little bit of a personality transplant. A little bit. He still comes out with some clangers. But yeah, maybe the respect wouldn't be there. But you can earn that I guess.
Hey, jokes aside. I like him. He focuses on possession based with quick transition, high pressing and high energetic game . I would have preferred him last year but not now with big personalities in the squad.

It's quite sad how at this point I can't face another game with him in charge, just can't face it. Yesterday has 100% finished him off as manager as far as I'm concerned, I was done before then, but knew he wasn't going anywhere. Now he must go.

He does. He was just pretty unlucky in the end with Liverpool. Gerrard etc

Yeah, I get the personality thing. He does come out with some clangers. Although as I said in my reply to someone else, I think he's toned that down a little bit. I do rate him as a manager though.

Yeah fair points. It's just not an appointment I'd be excited by at all.

It was a tough defeat I get it… we lick our wounds and we move on as a team and take this result as our main motivation for not letting this ever happen again.

I love my team and I am very much hurt as you all.

Would be very silly to fire Ole at this point, we ALL failed against a much better side and we have to accept it!

This is just absolute nonsense.

Yeah I think Klopp respects United too though, he's not just a typical Scouse manager that hates us.

If I was a fan of theirs I actually would be sort of miffed, they had a chance to put double digits on us if they actually wanted to especially when we were down to 10 men.

I think Klopp was just saving their legs for the bigger games against better opposition to come.

It’s taking too long. It should have been swift and decisive. There needs to be some sort of minimum standard.

The message this sort of thing sends to the players is that “yeah, it’s bad, but it’s one of those things”

Manager gone, and 4-5 of those players from yesterday dropped by next manager.

I think we need Conte in all honesty. Someone who will not let standards drop and force those players to work.

Imo. He's gone , when I don't know, maybe in the next international break, Roger's I don't want , but I didn't want Jose either, but it happened. We will have all the ex scousers having there 2 pence worth, he was this at Anfield that at bloody Melwood etc etc . They will every chance to remind us he was there Manager . So no . I'd take Tenhag guy from Ajax . First

Agreed.

This is exactly why I don't fancy those hipster managers many here do. We'd need someone with a big reputation and know how to handle the huge egos now.

A lot of people here think Ole and bad coaching is really the only problem. They're in for a nasty shock once Ole goes and the penny drops. So keeping the penny from dropping is quite important to the Glazers' business model.

We're like a cancer patient who thinks their only problem is a nasty cough.

Think most are aware our squad isn't perfect and that there's poisonous fumes in the boardroom. Not changing manager because of that is still lunacy though.

Sums up how I feel.

I'm using your summation from now on, it encapsulates my dislike for Rodgers in colorful terms (thank you). That 4am thing and his three envelopes both, total David Brent. I think Rodgers would be a disaster of a different stripe for us, but still a disaster.

Another reason for Conte? He won't hold back.

What's your definition of a "hipster manager" then?

Rodgers is a very good coach. And he won plenty of titles in Scotland. Easy, you might say, but they couldn't do it last season.

You know he copied the envelopes thing from Fergie, right?

Those haven't win anything big yet but hotly tipped to be the next big thing. Of course with some fancy, eye catching on-trend philosophy or modern approach.

I'm not against those btw. Just bad timing imo.

I will support Tottenham on Saturday if he is still in the job.

His comments after yesterdays match ("I have come so far......") showed that he only cares about himself and i can not support this shit anymore!!!

And i can't support the players too if they don't have the balls to go to the board and bring him down!!!

I think the discussion is now on the 'severance package' rather than anything else.
