Ole Ole Ole!
Phelan's shorts
Phelan's shorts
As long as he wears the shortsMike Phelan - interesting. Maybe it’ll turn out he was the true mastermind of our success in Fergie’s latter years!
I do have concerns about this appointment, although temporary. His experience at Cardiff & managerial career in Norway hardly enthuse me with confidence he can deal with the pressures here, although temporary. Another issue is what happens if the clubs main target, whether it is Poch, Zidane or someone else, is suddenly available far sooner than the end of the year. Perhaps in Jan/Feb. Does that mean we are stuck with Solskaer to the end of the season as he has signed a contract. That really would be ridiculous.
Hope he's coming as a replacement for Lukaku.
So we appoint Solksjaer, who’s Premier League experience is to get Cardiff City relegated.....Sigh.
Manchester United announced today that former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been appointed as caretaker manager until the end of the 2018/19 season.
Solskjær scored 126 goals in 366 appearances for United between 1996 and 2007. In 2008 he became the club’s reserve-team manager, before taking the managerial role at FC Molde in Norway.
Solskjær will take charge of the first team with immediate effect and will remain in place while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new full-time manager. He will be joined by Mike Phelan as first-team coach, working alongside Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna.
“Manchester United is in my heart and it’s brilliant to be coming back in this role. I’m really looking forward to working with the very talented squad we have, the staff and everyone at the club,” said Solskjær.
Ed Woodward, Executive Vice Chairman, comments: “Ole is a club legend with huge experience, both on the pitch and in coaching roles. His history at Manchester United means he lives and breathes the culture here and everyone at the club is delighted to have him and Mike Phelan back. We are confident they will unite the players and the fans as we head into the second half of the season.”
I mentioned RDM in a number of other posts on this matter. But of course, that wouldn’t fit your agenda, so you missed it.
He is here for basically 6 months while the club tries to sort out the mess and prepare a proper structure for a new manager.
Ole .... Ole, Ole, Ole, .... Ole, Ole (repeat 10x)Anybody thought of any good songs for him?
BOOM
We've been missing Phelan's 'shorts' lookPhelan's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming. Genuinely more excited for him being back than Ole, it's absolutely hilarious, and he's probably like a pig in shit right now, can't believe his luck
Micky Shorts...proper character we need in the dressing room. Not Keane (as much as I love the guy)...Phelan can do the arm round the shoulder, the pisstaking and the hairdryer shit.
I don't know why people are unhappy. This is as good an interim manager as it can get. It is super important to have as much time as needed to appoint the new permanent manager, and we shouldn't be in hurry to do so. People are unhappy just for the sake of being unhappy.
Staring at a white wall is more fun than watching us play, to be fair.Hope this works out well. Should be more fun to watch us at least.
