Is Ole a good appointment?

As much as Ole can feel super lucky to be 2-0 down, the De Gea mare, the super generous pen, Lukaku’s finishing, we didn’t react well. The subs killed us in the game, as we gave away the midfield for more and more forwards, which is always a sign of desperation. We created nothing after the penalty and the good performance has quickly faded from memory. We were the better team until the penalty, and I’m disappointed that we didn’t keep faith with the system that was working fine.

Thankfully, the other results this weekend means that this hasn’t been too bad a loss.

Blaming Ole for today is a nonsense. That's all I have to say.

Players not quite at it (clearly some drained from the Paris result) and some bad luck counts for 80% of the reasons we lost today.

Tactics were changed about a few times but not sure it even mattered a great deal in the end.

He’s too late with subs.

On the whole I actually agree. Not sure today's game is a good example though seeing as we were totally dominant in the 2nd half.

Some people claim the subs came too late, some claim they shouldn't have come at all. How the feck is he supposed to keep everyone happy.

If you blame Ole for today you're an idiot.
We needed to take the handful of chances that fell to us, but we didn't.

Still a lot of question marks about him, today will muddy the waters a lot.

This kind of reaction is absurd TBF. Arsenal did feck all today. They scored from a goalkeeping error then won a very soft penalty. We missed 3 absolute sitters today.

Ole's only error today was selecting Matic

The finishing was awful. If you miss that many chances (can't remember how many there were..4/5?) you know it's not your day. I don't think any amount of tactical change can make up for missing that many chances.

On another day some of our chances would have gone in and we could have drawn.

Like the way we stayed largely positive and Arsenal took their opportunities.

I can’t see any reason to doubt Ole at all.

Onward and upward

If Lukaku has scored his sitters he would have had a hat-trick and we would have scored at least 4. After the form he’s been in, there’s nothing to blame Ole for here.

Greenwood doesn’t look ready, it seems Ole wants that magical moment with him. I m not sure why he gets selected over some of our more experienced attackers, even though I understand how talented he is. Other than that, his first defeat in the league. Tactical he couldn’t do much to change the outcome with the players on the pitch unless he has some type of Nostradamus insight. Dalot as right attacker is also questionable. Regardless, I feel that things will get back to normal the next game week. He can’t win every game.

Slow start is on Ole. Going 4-4-2 was a bad decision as we did not have the personnel for it. Pogba is not a winger and Matic cannot play in a midfield 2. We clearly struggled and ended up playing catch up all game after the first goal.

Why did he kept the subs very late ? I don't get it. Martial needs long time to get into the pace of a game. Should have got in during the break.

Not good game management today.

Ole will learn from any mistakes. Though to be honest, our players missing chances can't be blamed on him. Onwards.

Making subs is not problematic at all, but I don’t think you should do it in a manner where you lose all your strategy and depart from the previously effective tactics. Rashford was having a mare, so put Martial or Greenwood on. Don’t go 4-2-4 and just hope for the best. We’ve seen the manager is better than that.

You can’t argue the subs were efefctive today as we barely had a shot in the last 20 minutes.

We literally had no other options.

What was he thinking starting in 4-4-2?

We were on the back foot from the off

He switched formation after about 20 mins and after that Arsenal created practically nothing. Another day Lukaku taps in those chances and we would all be here praising Ole.
The only criticism I would have is taking of Dalot and Keeping Rashford but then it's easy to say that in hindsight as the decision to take off a defender converted to a RW and putting in a striker is something most managers would do..

Mistake he made was keeping Rashford on for so long.

Players let him down. Two goals conceded from nothing. Wasteful chances. It was always going to be difficult after champions league to come here.

People saying he didn’t change it, don’t know what game they were watching. We changed it with 20 mins to go before half time to a 3-5-2 and looked better. We looked better and then Jon Moss had to steal the show. After that it was a tough ask.

That 4-4-2 was a joke, it had no business vs Arsenal. Learn from fergie.........Pack the midfield and counter them. Hopefully he learns from this.

Just was not our day. Another day Lukaku scores two and has an assist and Big Dave makes a routine save.

We move on.

Chong, Gomez, Andreas? I feel they are a bit farther ahead in terms of development.

I definitely wouldn't class Chong and Gomez as more experienced they've barely played any first team football themselves mate. Pereira yes, but he seems more like a cm rather than an all out attacker. Personally I am pleased Greenwood has gotten some minutes lately, he needs the experience. I rate him higher than both Chong and Gomez. I feel like Mason has the potential to become even better than Marcus. With hard work and luck with injuries I feel like there is a top player there. He will get a goal before the season ends.

Did he get it wrong tactically though?

We had better clear cut chances than Arsenal, and conceded a shit goal that our keeper should've dealt with and another from a penalty.

This is on the players.
