New team, new challenge, fresh ideas, time to reflect. Managers grow and adapt. In any case he's shown that he can take a team that was outside the top 4 and turn them into a solid top 4 side while on a tight budget. He's achieved more than OGS as a manager. Even if you don't want Poch, Allegri is also available who's won title after title and come close to European glory.

But, but, but 'running', and 'history', and 'tradition', and 'when you've got players this good you set out to win things'.

OGS is not responsible for DDG having an absolute nightmare or giving away a penalty.

But he is responsible for the absolute lack of creativity involved in this game. He is also responsible for ensuring the team picking themselves up after conceding, because everyone goes behind at some point. He is also responsible for picking the team and making the substitutions to try and change the game in our favour.

All of these things he failed at today... against the worst team in the league. This is not the first time this season that this has happened either.

Great post, spot on.

Shaw, AWB, Fred, McTominay, Lingard, Perreira, and James are not creative enough to break teams down. When will Ole realize this very obvious fact? It has been obvious for a very long time. It will not work in the future either.

Pogba will add much needed creativity but we need signings in January to reach top 6 or 4.

I'd agree with all this but the worrying thing is we probably won't sign anybody

Maybe. Personally I’m for us sticking with him for now, as his recruitment’s been good, and hopefully he’ll add some tools to our team in January that might help us deal with the smaller sides.

David Moyes lost 15 times as permanent manager after 53 games. Ole’s has lost 15 after 36.

Maybe so but if he's good at recruitment, put him in charge of transfers but he's lacking in other areas which are required to be a top manager.

Recruitments been good? You making it sound like he discovered two gems. He spent £130m on two defenders that were known around the world and yet our defence has not improved from last season.

Our record against teams outside the best 5 teams is shocking. 2 wins in 13 games. That is relegating form and shows we can't create against more defensive sides and can't dominate games at all.

I think we need a new manager to get the best out of this team. Not sure who it is right now though, but Ole is not good enough. Alternativly he needs to bring in assistant managers that can coach the team better.

Recruitment means very little when you can't get anywhere close to maximising the talent you have. He's not getting the best out of a squad lacking in quality, but good enough to be winning far more games than we have been.

Anybody could have told the club to sign AWB and Maguire. Mourinho wanted one of the them the year before. Should we have put Mourinho as DOF?

Can someone transcribe his bullshit post match comments? Wonder if he will be having fish and chips with SAF this evening?

The fact we beat City and Spurs but losing to relegation fodder tells me it’s more on the manager than the players. Not disregarding we need better quality players mind you.

This is a red herring

The players purchased have been garbage

A completely average cohort

Its not his fault that Lingard missed his chance, not like he is the one who picked him in first XI or anything like that. Lingard the number 10, cant score or assist to save his life.

Its not his fault that we are still clueless in final third. Guess squad is shit and not good enough to beat fecking Watford, team who scored 4 in 8 games, zero wins at home before they met us.

I don’t care what people say. 30 points in 25 league gsmes is not enough.
We still can’t see any style of play being implemented either.

Ole may be able to recruit good players (and that's debatable), but what's the point if he can't coach them?

Yeah look at Sheffield. Playing great football with players costing a tiny fraction of the money we have spent.
Good management can boost a team a lot. We are not seeing that from Ole beyond the short spell after Mourinho.

Basically solidifies what we already know. One dimensional. It's a small team mentality, but a big name club. Not going to be conducive to success for the vast majority of teams we play.

I know de gea and lingard cost is the game but for me today I put the blame on him. Why the feck didn't he take lingard off early. I never understand his game management. It's like he doesn't have a clue. The way he just sits and hope things start to click is worrying.

And one thing is becoming clear Phelan is a shit assistant. The guy was extremely lucky he was assiting the great sir alex.

80 million for Maguire is not what I call a great buy. Wan Bissaka is ok, but very overrated here still since he is new.
James has been good for his cost, but is probably still not going to turn into a world beater.

He needs to go.

I hope he realizes that. He's a club legend, and i hate this, but i love the club more.

We need a complete makeover.

The complete deal - coaches, manager, board and players.

We're spirraling down like fecking AC Milan, we need to catch up ASAP.

So, let's start with him.

He should really after that punish a player or two. Lingarrd now should be dropped from the team sheet with the view to selling him in January. I dont think he has control. No way would Ferguson tolerate Lingards off the field antics. He would have been sold years ago.

I remember a reporter once said that Ferguson was so ruthless he was like Stalin. Ole does not have that. Those players should be frightened as feck playing for this club. Evra once said that on the bus journey back from winning the CL against Chelsea, Ferguson was telling the players on the coach that if they did not keep up the standards, he would get rid of them fairly fast.

Contrast that to some players saying they want to keep Ole. It should be the other way around. Under no circumstances should the players be telling the board what manager to keep and what not.

It is painful and above all else sad to see how far we have fallen.

I think the squad got some talent though. Under a better manager it can improve.
I would remove De Gea, Young,Matic and Mata this summer first and maybe sell some squad players (Rojo,Jones, Pereira,Lingard) if we get offers. Then try to boost our attack and midfield with 3-4 players this summer. We probably needs to spend big to get what we want.

What is our style of play? Why give him more time and money?

At this rate, I swear I don't even mind Big Sam to be our interim manager at least we will have chance to win the EL.

If he stays, i hope that he will not get money for transfers. I am afraid that he will spend another 100 mil for defensive players "with right attitude who really really really.....really really really really want to be here"

Post match drinking game:

Rashy
Worked hard in training
Process
Lads will learn from this
They wanted it more
Not good enough
Fine Margins
We're Manchester United.

The most dangerous game in the world. I would pass out after five minutes...

He doesn't have a clue about beating teams that defend deep and give us the ball. Unfortunately for him, given the stature of the club and the money poured into the squad, that's what we'll face most weeks. We aren't a training ground for managers so he needs to go.

Well today, one of his signings got taken off, one gave a penalty away and the other does not look the picture of defensive stability.

Looks like Roy Hodgson in that pic.

It's a good job we spent 80% of our budget last season on defenders then.

Our style of play or should i say the only style of play Ole knows is to hit teams on the counter using the pace upfront. That's not enough because we will play such sides maybe 8 times a year only.

David Moyes lost 15 times as permanent manager after 53 games. Ole’s has lost 15 after 36.
It is simply not good enough.

I will criticise the board for a meagre £65m net spend last summer when we needed £200m+. But that aside, Ole is making so many mistakes against weak teams that I can't excuse it any more.

This is our lowest points total after this many games in the Premier League era.

Woodward takes at least 50% of the blame. He needs to go too. But Ole, I'm afraid to say, I've lost faith. If we miss out on Poch we will regret it.

Exactly, I m sick of people saying the players are shite and it wouldn't be any better with another manager, we cant know that until we make the change. Leicester were piss poor under Puel, but with largely the same squad, Rodgers has them playing decent stuff. Ole is consistent in regards to being shit against teams we would expect to beat, he has to close to being done.

Maybe so but if he's good at recruitment, put him in charge of transfers but he's lacking in other areas which are required to be a top manager.

Considering the deficiencies in the squad I’m not convinced the jury’s in on that. That’s not me saying I’m sure he’s good enough, but for now I’m Ole in.

Have you seen us post-Fergie? We’ve spent plenty of money on duds. His signings at least seem to want to fight.

Sure, if you analyse things in a vacuum. We’ve got better players, but we also face teams looking to make a name for themselves by taking our scalp, week in week out. Sheffield United don’t meet teams that treat games against them as a cup final. The mental aspect of playing for a side of us is all too often neverminded.

This is a red herring

If they’re in a squad that is struggling to function and short on leaders, it’s harder to assess the signings. Calling them garbage is definitely overkill.

He has to go as.

We missed out on Pep, Klopp, and several top-tier managers over the last 6 years, let's not miss out on another one in Poch. The window to recruit him diminishes by the day, too.
