As options yes but that's my point Ole got the team he wanted . By all accounts he pulled the plug on spending crazy money on Dybala etc. So he has to take the blame when what he wanted isn't enough

Really you would still want Lukaku who is still over weight?

I am not at all sure about Ole, but i am 100% sure this club will never be what it once was with the current owner and structures above Ole and the coaching staff. I don't care what manager you have on the sidelines. Pep could NEVER do what he does with City using these players.

And it has been 3 games. All should have been won, and probably would be if they could actually score on a penalty. And if we could actually be awarded 100% clear penalites.

Our squad isn't better than this, we will be very inconsistent throughout the season.

Do they manage United and can spend 80m pounds on a single player?

Can they give one player 500k per week salary?
So we should win every game because we've got Leicester's centre back from last season? Did they always win? We also sold an £80m striker to balance the books.

Just because we give someone £500k a week it doesn't mean he's worth it.

Win every game? Can you show me another PL manager with 3 wins in the last 13 games?

Some people have really low standards it seems.

Yeah the Chelsea game could've been 4-2 or 4-3 to either team. Last season was the worst form in 60 years, not just the PL.

Today was supposed to be an easy 3 points yet this sorry looking Palace team score two at OT. Feels like a continuation of Huddersfield and Cardiff so far minus the often misleading season opener.

Moyes won his first game of the season 4-0 as well which is quite spooky.
We had a similar 1-2 in that season(infamous Fulham game).

We've actually looked energetic, and pressing has been decent tbh. The problem is that when the counter isn't on, we look clueless.
We don't do proper pressing, its just Martial, Rashford, Lingard and James running around. We do not even do 10% pressing of what a true pressing team like liverpool does.

I'd feel confident in him scoring 20 goals a season played week in week out as a no 9.

Certainly not confident in Martial and Rashford doing that .

Again though it's not the point . The point is Ole got what he wanted so if it doesn't work it's fully down to him

He’s rebuilding, the first part of that is to cut away the dead wood. Lukaku sold, Sanchez on the way, Smalling and Jones not in the match day squad, Rojo on his way...it will only get better from here and we need to stick with him for the next two/three years.

he won only 3 games in his last 15 games. Wake up.

I am wide awake and am realistic
Where’s the major squad transition? we’re still stuck with people who disguise themselves as footballers!

Mediocre has been the theme for the last 6 years, think most of us have had enough now!

This is Ole’s first transfer window and 3 games in. You cant blame Ole for the last 6 years

Don't think they're knee-jerk. Many people didn't want him to be signed and many people wanted him gone after the last season. Remember, last season he finished very poorly. The worst form of United in the PL I think it was and if you also count the CL it's not 3 wins in the last 15 matches, 6 of which where we failed to score a goal and the only clean sheet was Chelsea which we were frankly lucky to get.
I didn't want him either Snow, just feel like there's no point getting rid now. I don't think he'll be here for the long-term but he's doing a good job of getting rid of the squad players and promoting the kids. If that's all he achieves in the role I'll be happy.

We don’t know he didn’t get what we wanted and I’m pretty sure it’s the club trying to get Sanchez off the books.

Poch is 4 from 14. With a far better team.
You mean with a team he built?

Poch also has much better track record turning things around, giving him benefit of a doubt. What does Ole have as an argument in terms of plan B?

Or we should wait until the season is officially gone to shit before acting?

It is not this bunch of players that is the sole problem. Players we have here can be coached to play properly. We do not have any foundation. You simply do not play Pogba in a midfield of two. You cannot ask him to be everything. He cannot be the holding midfield player and the creative midfield player at the same time.
This team is not as bad as some people make it out to be if there were properly coached.
Today I saw a bit of Ravel Morrison when he came on for Sheffield United. His movements off the ball was better than any of the United players I saw today at OT. I am not saying he is better than any of them but I wanted to show that here was a player who knows about movements off the ball.
Some people are saying who is going to come in the middle of the season? Get someone like Carlos Quiroz as the assistant manager to help Ole. I am sure he will get this lot of players to play better in a sensible way against this brainless way we are playing now. We are not playing to any tactics it looks like.

I haven't read the thread but I go with back him, I don't blame him for the issues right now, there's only so much you can get out of the players he's got to use, the only thing he's frustrating me with is not even putting Gomes on the bench. I personally can't understand how anyone can blame him or how they looked at this squad when the transfer window closed and didn't expect another difficult season with top 4 a stretch.

If Maguire and AWB were his choices then he did fine with the backing he did get even if they were easier picks given they are PL tested, but I'd have backed him for Joao Felix as well, I like the style he wants us to play on and off the ball but it's going to take time given the way we do transfer business.

Yes he got chance to build a team (although the good recruitment is not all him). On the other hand if he's built such a good team and is such a great manager how can he go on such a bad run? Should Spurs sack him for it?

it will never happen. We will never have a ready squad. Next transfer window we will lose Pogba and maybe DDG and will have the headache of finding replacements for them and so on the same thing the year after, and we will be in constant rebuild that will never end.

And Ole didn’t have a chance with the Brexit strategy? We will be bearing the fruits of it very soon.

There’s a difference between a proven manager having a proven track record and on a bad run - Klopp as an example and nobody on a bad run - Di Matteo as an example.

What is the probability of someone who has never turned it around being able to do so considering he is in management for over 10 years?

When will it become apparent for you that he’s out of his depth? 2-3 seasons of mid table finish?

Why sack Ole now when we've got nobody to replace him with? This is our new reality. Better to simply accept it. And at least our football wasn't as negative and boring as it was under Moyes, LVG and Jose.

Might not be negative but its fecking obvious and shit. Pass the ball to a winger, have him overhit a cross to the opposite winger who overhits a cross for a goal kick.

We just have to give him time. There are still serious problems with the makeup of the squad, and while yes he is the manager he can't change all of that in one window, especially considering how useless our board seem to be at getting deals over the line for him. Honestly, would someone else come in and change things overnight? I'm not convinced.

This constant argument for 'we have to give him time'

If he's doing well, he'll get time.

If not, he should get the sack.

Relegation form in our last 15 games in the Prem I think.

Who said he is the man to change it though? That's the point. He has no record of doing it.

In December he'll have been managing this squad for a year, and will have had 150m invested into it.

It's up to him now to coach good footy.

Yes he needs time, but he also needs backing. If he needs to have list of players with viable alternatives and the people running the club need to make sure they get them for him. Otherwise he will always have players in his squad who do not fit in.

Seriously guys? Of course today was a disappointment, given the fact we missed a penalty and were denied another blatant penalty too. However, how can you blame the manger for these things? The goals we conceded and everything else was the players doings.

We’re 3 games into the season... have a little faith and try to back the team and the manger. We can’t go losing our sh*t so early in the season. We have a very young team that will only get better with time and more experience.

Just have some faith

People talking about 3 games as if the end of last season didn't happen at all . United have won 3 of the last 17 games

You think he had chance to rebuild this terrible squad in one summer? This isn't a Playstation game.

For every example of a proven manager who has 'turned it around' there are plenty of examples of proven managers who failed to turn it around (we had enough ourselves).

I'd like to know some examples of managers who 'turned it around' at top 4/title challenging level without significant changes to the squad that was failing? I see Zidane drew at home again today, hardly turned it around at the end of last season either.

To a degree I agree, I think De Gea will stay but I think Pogba will be off next summer and I don't think we'll make the CL so our options to buy will be limited, but sacking Ole isn't going to make it any faster IMO.

That’s true but I honestly cannot see any progress under him

Always look on the bright side of life
Do do, do do do do do do

You’re not a project manager are you?

We saw this transfer window he was out of his depth. No replacement for the two cm’s that left. Chased Dybala and Eriksen at the last minute
We were offered Dybala and he didn’t want to join, we asked about Eriksen and he wanted to go to Spain. Why would we decide to want those players in our team?

You think United should be winning 3 out of the last 13 or 15 games?

Show me an example of a manager that would get the boot after a slum like that at a top club?

We shouldn’t be beating the likes of Palace at home? Really?

For what has been spoken we definitely had a better transfer season than them.

I wasn’t born at the time but I wonder how many folk wanted SAF sacked in his first couple of years in charge when we struggled? Probably a massive majority on here.

We have lost 9 in 15 and only won 3!
This is since March 19. We also sold a starting midfielder and forward without replacing either. There is faith and there is blind faith.

I’m going with my eyes and this team is not worrying the top 4.

Dont sack the goddamn manager, you're becoming worse than Real Madrid fans at asking for managers to be sacked.

Its not the managers fault.

It's a new season, a new start. Yes, I am fully ignoring the end to last season just like I'm ignoring his first 3 months in charge last season where we had title winning form. He took over half way through a season. How did Klopp do when he took over only 2 months into the season at Liverpool? Not great is the answer.

Nobody is claiming Ole is a genius. The reality is that we have a very young squad and need a big rebuild, and I like A LOT of what Ole has tried to do so far. Yes, we will be inconsistent, but he's getting us trying to play football the right way, we aren't boring to watch at all, he's going after the right types of players and trying to get rid of the right players. We create plenty of chances every game and have real pace in the team again (and that's something Ole definitely prioritizes), while he also clearly wants to give chances to the youth to get into the side. That all means we will be inconsistent, we will have some random poor games, but it's about a general positive trend. We've considerably outplayed each of our starting 3 opponents this season, created plenty of chances in every game while limiting the chances to the opponents, and been dominant in every game. Guess what? That doesn't always translate to good results. Sometimes you don't get the rub of the green. Sometimes, especially with so much youth in your team, you get inconsistent end product. That is to be expected, and it's something we simply have to live with the reality of for the next little bit.

And this has nothing to do with him being an ex United player. What Ole is trying to do and has tried to do since he came, I can confidently say that by next summer I'm convinced we'll be in a better position than we were when he took over, and we are already well on our way upwards rather than the endless downward spiral we were stuck in with Mourinho. We have holes in the squad, and combined with the youth, we'll be inconsistent like I said before, but we all knew it wasn't going to be an instant fix. So why is everyone losing their shit over basically 2 missed penalties being the reason we drop points in 2 games? Those are the margins in football so often, we just have to move on.
