Basically we got too many players who are too good to get Ole sacked. With the quality of Ronaldo, Bruno and others there will always be a chance to win eventhough there is bad coaching and no tactics. Ole will keep his job because the players are good enough to achieve enough for him to keep his job.
What a great post.
No, I am not being sarcastic.

It is actually ironic how "United DNA" Ole starts only one relatively young player that he signed (AWB). And even here there is no certainly that he is good enough and we were chasing a 31 year old Trippier for his position. Other young players that he signed are either on loan/reserves (Amad, Pellistri) or benched (VdB, Sancho) or sold (James). Other starters that he signed (Maguire, Varane, Ronaldo, Bruno, Cavani) are peak or past-peak.

With existing players, yes, Ole starts Greenwood, but Jose regularly started thd likes of Rashford and McTominay who were very young at the time.

If Mourinho had the same record, we would 100% have threads on here how he does not trust/use youth enough.
If there is such a thing a a "United DNA" (as ingrained by Sir Alex and Sir Matt) Ole is the very definition of anti-United DNA - He is extremely negative in his approach to football, he never gives youth a chance, he never trusts his subs, he doesn't have that winner attitude our greatest managers had. He has nothing that would say "United DNA" aside from being once a player at the club. If anything, Jose probably has more traces of a United DNA than him.

Nothing strange about it. Bruno kept him in the job last season, and Ronaldo is doing it in this.
In 2019/2020 there was such a huge difference before and after Bruno. Credit to Ole for making sure we sign him, but it goes to show how good of a manager he actually is.

Yes, Ole should definitely not buy good players so that he can get himself the sack.

How dare he.

As long as Ole qualifies for the knock-out stages and is in a good position for a top 4 finish, I can see the board sticking with him till the end of the season. I just hope they’ve got someone like Ten Hag lined up to take over next season.

Jose's United team won more, scored more, conceded less, spent less on transfers, promoted about the same number of academy players to the first team successfully and starting 11 was younger but Ole understands the club apparently and that's enough for some people.

He's a fraud who should have never gotten the job in the first place.

Spot on.

If Ole is to stay for rest of season (Love to see him sacked) I'd expect him to change that coaching team he has. Need to improve big time. If we can spend big on players then we should be getting best coaches around at the elite level.

What a strange post.
It isn’t a strange post. Our bench against Atalanta was worth twice as much as their first team, the football we played was totally crap, we didn’t deserve a point but having the best player in the world on the pitch for us grabbed us a draw out of nowhere.

feck Jose.

Hate Solskjaer all you want but if you are talking about Jose as some God now then your memory is just getting lost.

Just a manager with better tactical experience than Ole and has won some trophies to show for it but United are in a better shape post Solskjaer's tenure than Jose's.

I couldn't care less for him and his Perisic, Matic, Lukaku, Fellaini, Bailly, Lindelof, Fred, middle finger at Shaw, agreeing signing Pogba then calling him a virus, Valencia and Young as our fullbacks, His way he bought Sanchez seemingly as our RW then dropped Rashford and Martial to play Sanchez as our LW.

Seriously feck Jose.

The most viral thing that has happened.

Ole has to go but i never saw what the fans that wanted and cried for Jose here ever saw in him. His FA Cup and Europa cup are not our level trophies to hire such a manager.

Fail start to end.

Point is we could hire a manager who can utilise our talents to win things rather than keeping his job safe.

That‘s the crux of it, isn’t it? The whole “project” with right now is about Ole keeping his job and winning something is second to that. That’s why you get Ole talking about “needing a result” against Spurs etc. The fact that the board would rather leave prize money on the table and waste money on recruitment so they can cover for Ole is bizarre to me.

I can also never understand how Woodward, after 8 years in the job, keeps getting WORSE at it. He didn’t know much about football when he started but how has he not picked anything up in that time?

I totally agree. But he said a week or two back that the coaching staff are superb. There’s zero chance of him changing it. He’s delusional.

I'm sure the Chicago bulls didn't mind having Michael Jordan.

Of course he won't change them, they're on his same level. Also sack Carrick? Would be like spiting himself on the face.

Well yeah. That's the criteria that's been in place since Fergie left. I can't see them changing things now.

Surely the money spent in the summer has got to be a factor too though, along with his time in the job. None of our previous three managers were given the time to complete the squads they wanted to build. Ole has been given that in abundance and we're already eight points off 1st and it's just gone November. Another thumping on Saturday we could be eleven points adrift. If he's not relieved of his duties after that he's never leaving.

Without doubt the stupidest thing that ever came out of Rio's mouth and our utterly clueless board bought it sadly
Shows what the explayer "pundits" are really about. They're just as reactionary as anyone. Like you said one of the stupidest things that Rio has ever said.

Does anybody have any idea what Carrick is listening to on his headphones? I find it a bit cringe all this nonsense with the ipad and headphones. It seems like they want to revolutionize the coaching scene, but they can’t through tactics so they settled at being the cool geeks.

MUTV commentary probably, helps him with his live match analysis.

He's got a job for life if he can keep getting top 4

Please stop these fecking lies. You are allowed to hate Solkjaer, go ahead. But stop fecking lying! We were the third youngest PL team last season, behind Fulham and Aston Villa. Oh, and by the way we were 2nd in academy minutes last season, only beaten by Brighton.

And as for substitutes. This link shows how we have the most goals scored by substitutes since Ole's arrival. Doesn't rotate his squad enough? Sure. But as for the substitutes themselves it's hard to blame him.

Bingo.

Well I don't disagree that he's probably done enough to be sacked at a lot of clubs already and certainly losing further ground will be his position shakier.

I think we'd need more bad results for them to act though from what I've seen of the board. We aren't privy to the targets he was given but if it was to mount a title challenge that ship has sailed as far as I'm concerned so I'm thinking possibly it's still top 4.

At this point I think its a question of what's most likely to get us in the top 4, Ole or someone else. With Conte out of the equation there aren't many managers where you would think we could get them mid-season. Would a caretaker do better than Ole?

If we get into a tailspin then we might need a caretaker just to steady the ship. A loss at the weekend would make it 1 win and 4 defeats in 6 games. (Jose got sacked after a run of 1 win and 2 defeats in 6 games.)

But if we get a decent result and put a run together - not a big winning run, but a run of wins and draws and better performances - then the Board might feel like its better to let Ole see out the season and then replace him.

I think we’ll win tomorrow. Ole parks the bus hard against Pep and seems to be his kryptonite. We will then be level on points with City, and the board and fans will use that as justification in Ole’s work.

The simple truth is we have looked crap all year. He has no style of play, doesn’t seem to make players (for the most part) better and has no tactical plan; he just keeps trying different stuff in the hope that something sticks.

I hope we have a great season, but no matter what happens, we need to replace him sooner rather than later.

They're not lies... Academy minutes is flawed because the likes of Rashford, Mctominay, Henderson etc would count - you can't class that as playing youth when they're in their mid 20's.

What youth has he given a chance to other than Greenwood? Who coincidentally has now been dropped as soon as his job's on the line.

Spend £37m on Amad for him to never get a chance and mainly play U23's. Meijbri, Shoretire, Elanga nowhere to be seen - they should be in and around the first team. Instead of them being squad players, he feels safer hoarding older, experienced players - for them to never even play (Mata, Lingard, Telles, VdB). It literally makes it impossible for the youth to ever get an opportunity with such a big squad.

No, crediting him for signing top class players like Bruno, Varane or Ronaldo is clutching at straws, as if he's unearthing some hidden gems or had success with unexpected signings, like Klopp turning Salah and Mane from good players to two of the best players in Premier League.

I have zero doubt in my mind we're getting a result vs City. We're not losing, we'll probably win as well.

Pep will feck it up.
