Why don't you check an entire season's possesion stats instead of 7 games, where we played relatively easy opponents, while Chelsea, Liverpool and City have played each other?

The beginning of the end has started and now it’s just a matter of time before the sacking is on the table if our results doesn’t dramatically improve. The tactically clueless narrative is already set among large parts of our supporters and the media is just waiting for the right moment to let the shit storm starts. A few more losses and there is no way back.

Does Danny Blind often speak about a club manager the way he has just spoken about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?
Wouldn't have said so. It took me my surprise to be honest.
He obviously knows nothing, right?
Dutch people are always so frank and honest, and things aren't meant in a bad way. I'm just he wasn't criticising, rather he was just stating something he observed.
This was a bit of a strange interview. I agree with pretty much everything Blind has said here, but then the last line he says that no matter what you think of Ole now isn't the time to change, which is weird if you read the rest of the interview he's basically saying Ole isn't up to it without using those words.
He is friends with LvG who still isn't happy about the manner of his sacking, he will know Donny well. He did bring up about why Ole is in the job.
One of those 'Oh I shouldn't have said that' moments, then tries to backtrack a bit when the damage is already done.
Blind's appraisal is as damning as you can get from a reputable professional in the game. If he can see it, trust me, a whole lot of other players/coaches can see it. A team with CR7 in it is always going to come under scrutiny to win and perform. Might be the beginning of the end for Ole. Or it might just make our clueless board batten down the hatches and sign us into another 5 years of mediocrity with another contract extension.
Maybe Ole can get some advice from Danny Blind based on Blind‘s own successful and inspirational managerial career?
Maybe the point is that he has gone back to being a coach as he realises he is not a very good manager.
I have actually enjoyed the international break as not had to think about Ole. Then the Newcastle business happened and then it will be back to Ole again.
Where did I say we were 'better in possession' than them?
Yeah the pattern goes like this…
1. Run of easier fixtures that any club with Utd’s players should be winning - does crap because all he can do is counter-attack and struggles when the opposition rejects possession.
2. Pressure grows, people realise Ole is a very limited coach.
3. Couple of tougher / bigger games come up City / Liverpool / Chelsea etc. Everyone thinks Ole will be done now and we can move on as a club.
4. Gets result against better clubs as he’s able to coach counter-attack footy and has brilliant players.
5. ‘Ole’s at the Wheel!’
And repeat.
Does anyone care what Danny Blind thinks about Management? He a failure. And he had a vested interest to bash Ole and defend Donny. He also likely has a grudge with United because he son failed here too.

Daley Blind won 3 major trophies at Utd in 4 seasons.
Ole has won 0 in 3 seasons.

The Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup are major trophies - as are the PL and CL.
It means ‘proper trophy’ - google ‘major football trophies’ and a suitably simple explanation should arrive pretty swiftly.

It certainly is hilarious the way some fans will throw everyone under the bus including our players past and present to defend Ole.
You can‘t just count trophies. RvP or Ruud for example with only 1 PL trophy (both heavily contributed to it) will always be a much more important player in United’s history than someone like Blind.
And Ole has nothing to do with Blind‘s time at United.
Blind is saying this due to VDB not due to Daley Blind.
Oh good to know they are all equally important to some people … doesn’t change that in truth PL and CL have their own place and anybody with even the slightest knowledge of football knows this.
And all I’m saying is that that’s a huge oversimplification. fecking David May won a CL trophy in 99.
Ole had to gut a rotten core and soldier on with glaring gaps in his squad because he prioritised a cultural reboot over short term results. The next season we had virtually NO pre-season and arguably the most crowded schedule in European football. He’s not had the easiest of conditions, and he had a lot of work to do to make us even look competitive.
This season expectations have changed, rightly so, and I have a lot of time for the grievances people have against Ole. Not so much cheap arguments like the one you levelled. A manager is not a rotation option.

2008 was also great, even without the FA Cup, but Keane, Becks, Ole, etc. weren’t part of it so I took 99. Nothing to do with the FA Cup.
Danny can be correct while not being a top coach himself.

While Ole needs to win trophies, I would want him gone if he for example wins the FA or league Cup but doesn’t even qualify for the CL by finishing outside top 4.
If any manager with United’s investment finished outside top 4 he has to go.
And in Jose and LvG days we didn’t even have all of Chelsea, City and Liverpool with top squads and managers at the same time. The competition was worse and they still managed to finish 5th or 6th.
A secondary trophy doesn’t compensate for it at all as far as I am concerned.
Why are some of you so salty about what Danny Blind said? Do all of you disagree with what he said in the interview then?
