3 Years to steady the ship?

well yeah the previous managers didn’t steady it combined in a longer period. 3 summer windows ain’t that great a time. He’s put us on very steady ground and built a great squad for the next manager. It’s not exactly a toxic dressing room. Zizou just needs to attract Veratti

What’s that got to do with our own underachieving?

It's about putting some context into how we view what is expected of the team this season. We know there's several better teams than United.

We've bought well, but players need a bit of time to bed in and it's 7 games into the season. We started a lot worse last year and finished 2nd.

Yes it's been a tough week - bur the hysterical responses online are disproportionate and immature.

Only chance he loses his job is if we fail to qualify from the CL group and become adrift of the title challengers by December. Any other scenario and he's not going anywhere for the whole season.

I'm not sure you're right about the basic assertion - but nevertheless: based on what we've seen so far, who can say they're confident the bolded part won't happen?

Dropping points like we did today will soon become very costly. As for the CL - we've hardly looked like dead certs for the knock-out stage so far.

I've accepted him for what he is and don't have the energy to complain. Last season was as good as it will get for us under him.

It is strange, especially given the way Arteta was christened the new Wenger after winning a North London derby.

With that said, I am unsure whether OGS is the right man to win the biggest trophies, but I also don't see a replacement for him at the moment that allows us to take that next step.

Some strange stuff. I know it's talksport but was actual chat earlier about arsenal maybe pipping United into 4th, when where they better than they rest? The standards they use is mad.

I'm also the same as you regarding Ole.

Think today also line up changes and refusal to drop Fred completely in the league is doing him no good at the moment.

To be fair, he’s right.

We were amazing in the first half, say we won 1-0 people wouldn’t be this upset.

That’s how far the expectations have dropped. I was at the game today we wasn’t amazing at all, better than against Villa sure but still poor.

Been behind him all the way. And I would absolutely love us to be a success under Solskjaer more than any other manager out there.

But it’s looking a bit ominous now.He deserves credit for building a much better squad but it doesn’t look like he’s the man to take it forward.

He has an awkward body language or something. I don’t think he’s actually happy.
Yeah. He is very annoyed and gutted. People saying his confidence is taking a hit probably aren’t wrong. He wouldn’t be human if he wasn’t disappointed with some of the performances and results, no matter the excuses. He expected to push on from last year with less adversity.

He is resilient and a winner and will push through it. If we get through the next month without collapsing, we’ll have a good season. If not, he could be gone by Xmas as I do think the board are expecting clear improvement from last year.

He doesn't know any more - this is his level and he can't take us beyond here.
We're just wasting time now.

I thought the changes to the starting XI were justified and first half wasn't bad. Not a clue why Sancho and Ronaldo came on when we were playing alright and the game seemed to swing from it given that we couldn't really change much with one sub left. Not sure where his love for McTominay comes from given he's out of form and offers nothing to the game yet plays all the time.

4 home games I've been to in the last 10 days and we've not played well at any and now a tougher run of fixtures coming up. I'm usually pretty positive but it's clear that he's taken us as far as he can do and we're just not there tactically. Not only in comparison to top teams but lower teams in the league have more nous than we have. Almost 3 years in and we don't really have a style of play or method to break teams down and play for the counter all the time.

This is exactly where I'm standing as well. I want him to have this season to show what he can do with the fantastic squad he has built, if we still fumble like last season it would be prudent with a managerial change.

Recruiting players is one thing. Actually coaching them and training them to play and progress is very different.
Just imagine Greenwood and Sancho under Klopp or Pep - they would flourish.

Proves that change can be beneficial though especially going from Ole to a proper manager.
Ole is no way similar to Lampard and I wouldn’t want Tuchel. But yes changing manager can help. In our case I don’t think it will.

Not buying a DM in the summer has killed us already. These are the small things that make a big difference that a good manager never yields on. Mourinho threw a big strop when he didn't get Maguire and only got Fred and Dalot. Ole, because he has no status as a manager, is a yes-man and the Glazers can just buy CR7 (that has already paid for itself) a la Tom Brady for Tampa Bay and he won't kick up a fuss. CR7 is hurting our team, the circus makes us think we are much better than we actually are.

Nothing more need to say. Completely out of his depth. I have been saying this for 2 years, he is no match for United. The sooner the better.

Yeah thumbs up Ole ….now please go

Greenwood is young but he is flourishing if you ask me. Sancho did well today and probably will flourish soon.

Maybe, maybe not. Sacking him will solve nothing.
   . How? I mean.....how? So, this is maximum what coach can do with this team?

It will solve everything ffs. We will be properly coached so we will start playing as a team. We have THE worst manager in PL. Steve fecking Bruce would be better option.
Now when i said that; he knows the club, has United DNA...deserves the job, right?

Think Ronnie could finish Ole. He, Varane and Sancho might like Ole, he is likeable, but will they respect him as a coach or manager. Probably not. They have all played under more accomplished coaches/managers than him.

That scene was so annoying .

I feel we have the squad and should be playing better, I’m not even talking about results but just the basics there’s no style of play or anything it’s pass out wide 50 times a game and cross the ball

Last 2 years or so discussing anything Ole related in here is/was a waste of time. Just two camps in their trenches waiting a moment to have a go at each other with all kinds of drivel, one camp more obnoxious than other, thats 100%. Just like under JM, if people sense end of reign is getting closer, some will retract and wait to have a go at new manager if they dont like him because its replacement of their guy, some will start changing their tune and move towards center while waiting to see who is next one in line.

The level of double standards are sky high from both periods, both groups were paddling whole support United = support your manager and player, which is next level horseshit, they just turn acolyte mode for their picks. Funny how in majority of those so called JM fans (even before he became United manager /facepalm) aint the same folk that turned into Ty for Ole.

At the end of the day its not about Ole in or out, its about having certain level of expectations and goals regardless who is the manager. If one day Ole is gone, hope whole fan base moves to one same side, draw a line and dont move goal posts, make new camps just with different names if standards go under that line. Whats shit we call it out, whats good we praise it. Managers need to earn certain level of trust and support, the whole blind following thing is just weird.
