It's looking a heck of a lot like we're in a situation where literally just any competent opposition coach is going:

Coach A: 'Tips on how to beat United?'
Coach B: 'Oh, just use basic tactic A.'
Coach A: 'Which variant?' The gamma? The inverted sigma adjustment with the-
Coach B: 'No, just the vanilla tactic.'
Coach A: 'Haha. Very funny. No, really. Some tips on how to beat him.'
Coach B: 'Haven't you been watching them? Seeing everyone play them like that?'
Coach A: 'I have but, come on, who would possibly believe that-'
Coach B: 'I'm telling you. They have no idea what they're doing. Try it on Saturday and see.'

Two days later:

Coach A: 'Holy shit it worked.'
Coach B: 'Told you.'

This.. just... this..

Hehe Be careful.... I got a ban many years ago when I suggested Moyes should commit a certain Japanese ritual for his poor performances
Oh dear, I was just replying with regards to the squid game. By all means I wish Ole well.

Honestly the first half was 8/10 from everyone and I thought it'd be a 3-0 game today.

Can't blame Ole for that goal, the players should really deal with that situation. There were maybe a grand total of 2-3 dangerous situations from the Everton play and they scored on one and were offside on the other one.

One concerning thing again is that Ronaldo upfront by himself doesn't seem to add a lot to the game, needs someone to play off of.

I’ve been Ole in for a long long time. I don’t think the job he has done has been nearly appreciated enough even though we haven’t had anything to show for it but it’s time up for me. He’s taken us as far as he can.

I also think he’s beginning to lose the dressing room. Previously it was a group of players he had built a siege mentality up with. They were in it together and working towards a common goal. I think belief they can achieve that common goal under him is evaporating at a time when they have made huge steps towards it.

I think the likes of Ronaldo, Varane and co, while consummate professionals will be asking difficult questions of him in that dressing room right now and rightly so.
Good post.

I've always had a feeling that he wouldn't be the man to win us major silverware again. He's done a good job at rebuilding the club and has us set up to be successful in the future but right now I unfortunately don't see him as the man take us to the next level. It kills me to say it because I would've given anything to see us win the PL or CL under Ole.

You can't blame Solskjaer for the continued defensive incompetence? Then what exactly does he do?

played 4-3-3 midweek and got torn apart
It was one game. Isn't his job to make that work. Literally hundreds of managers play 433 every week, with having worse players than us and it works.
When these excuses will stop, ffs? He is not doing good job and he is not good enough to manage any PL team, not just Man Utd.

Blatantly obvious that nothing will change as long as he's here, though I fear he'll be here for the whole season since we never act early. So it'll be a wasted season that we probably do enough to get 4th, maybe drop out of the CL early maybe sneak through, and lose in the cups.

Everything just becomes annoying when you feel there is 0 progression and 0 point in keeping it going, yet hopeless because you know we won't act on time.

Ole is just trying to put a brave face on it and look like he hasn't crumbled like a Moyes or look out of depth flustered. I've seen top sports people do it a lot to not let panic spread but he is probably over doing it a tad.

There's still a lot to learn with subs, leave Cavani on don't bring him off after 56 mins, let Jadon settle in a bit, a double change that early in a tight game with just a rare Martial strike separating the sides was poor and the players look brain dead for corners. There's certain positions, places to play the ball so you don't expose yourself as much for the counter. We're continually terrible on them and are really short on able bodied midfielders to help cover mistakes and they add their own, Cavani does a lot of work.

What annoys me with Ole is he signs players then doesn’t use them, whilst we glaringly need players in other positions. If Ole has so much confidence with Greenwood on the right, why spend £73m on a replacement? Sancho has barely had minutes so far this season. He cost £73m! You can’t leave that sort of player on the bench.

We desperately need a DM. I said it from the beginning of the season. That is going to cost us silverware this season.

Last season he signs DVB, then doesn’t use him. And still hasn’t given him a run of games whilst Fred is cost us game after game. Sooner or later it will cost him his job as well.

We have not controlled a single game this season. That’s down to manager set up, and tactics. The points on the board is clouding people’s judgment. We have played no one! To drop points to Villa, Everton and Southampton this season simply isn’t good enough to win the league.

I want the Ole experiment to end before we waste a talented squad. This is without the best squad we have had for nearly 10 years.
If I were the board that would be a red flag to me. Signs players and either hasn't got a clue how to fit them in without dropping one of his favourites or treats them like he is still managing kids.

It's hard to put it into words but now I feel like the club is moving forward at a pace that Ole can't keep up with. We're no longer the club in rebuild mode, we haven't got a perfect squad but we have a squad that's definitely good enough to challenge and we're falling short. After buying Ronaldo and Varane in the summer we're in win now mode and need to be challenging. If we continue to stumble then Ole will have to move aside.

So many posts today reducing everything to one thing: sack the manager.

I find it pathetic. No amount of shouting and jumping up and down with a “boohoo” here and a “mummy we didn’t win” there will make a blind bit of difference.

We have to get rid off him. We can yet salvage this season, if we delay the inevitable next year will get wasted too.

He's done a good job to rebuild. Good recruitment; although the decision to keep deadwood is why we don't have a competent CDM. With good league positions. But with the quality we have, and the money we've spent, the football is getting worse...

You could drive two trams through that Midfield in attack and defensive situations. There's no shape to it, no speed in the passing and a lack of defensive discipline from front to back. Whilst in every game, you get a situation where a player kicks off because they get no support, today it was Bruno. Ole hasn't sorted it. He should've by now.

Then you see the amount of times our front 5 are stood in a straight line on a teams back 4. You wouldn't see it in under 15s, so why is he fine with it?

Ole in or Ole out, I want what is best for the club. It's becoming obvious Ole isn't.

Our players very rarely make tactical fouls at the right time / in the right places, which is certainly on Ole.

Hooray, We didn't lose a league game at home this time!

Progress.

Not surprised you are late to come that conclusion. Romantism hinders your perspective and many fans on here. I was one of the few that realized this early on, as I have amazing foresight.

I do believe he can take us farther, because this team he has is unbelievable good. United hasn't have a team this talented in depth and in starting position since the best Ferguson team. So, there is a lot of room for Ole to get us farther than what he has accomplished so far. If he can get second with the team he had last season, then with the current team, he should be able to get second or first and win a trophy.

Every week "you can't blame Ole for the shambolic defending he's not the one tackling/marking". Come on now.

I reckon at this point in time, I'm not even going to comment on the players' performances. There's something that stinks about the way we set up the team.

I get people getting frustrated at the football, tactics, chances conceded and all.

I dont get people getting annoyed that he smiles, given thats how he is.

He has. He’s a fanny. McTominay and Fred are shite, but Matic and Pogba aren’t the answer either. All of them bring destructive issues to the midfield area and it impacts upon our performances every week.

Matic is the only player we have who knows where to even stand in central midfield and his legs have gone. We’re in a real mess and it was obvious in the summer.

With that said, results and performances should still be better than this.
No midfield has to come back on the people running the club in a way, giving contracts out left right and centre if someone puts in a decent cross for too long a length and too much money.

Just offer Ole a higher role, let him sit with Fergie watching games so we can get so happy that we see his smiling face, and we all know he's great with building a team and progress , so he can overlook on that.

Bring in a world class coach.

posters were getting dog shit abuse from you when anyone had a small thought of criticizing him, now trying to be Mr logical.

No sense of occasion ?

8/10? Are you serious? We started well, and then completely tailed off, created nothing and had no control. By the end of the half we could just as easily have been behind.

No sense of occasion ?

But thats how he is though? Im like that, I smile or laugh at the most awkward situations and i dont go in intending to.
I dont see how him getting faux angry would make him a better manager or improve the situation except give of the false impression that he somehow wants it more cos hes angry rather than smiling.

You need to check my posts then. I've always been on the fence with Ole in fact I wanted him gone up until January 2020 but then he started to convince me he was doing a good job and we were moving forward as a club. I've praised him when we do well but have criticized him when I feel like it was warranted.

I'm in the same boat as @Pexbo He's done an underappreciated job at rebuilding the club and setting us up for success but unfortunately it's looking he's not the man to take us to the next level.

No one is asking him to be angry, only not to smile when most utd fans are seething.

He's so irritating. Not only isn't he a good manager but he's also such a weirdo. Who the feck smiles after such a game....

You are the not the manager of one of the biggest sporting entities on the planet.

He can smile all he wants after he takes his boring football and zero trophies and leaves the club he professes to love.
