We should believe in him because he made a signing?
I feel because of last year there the caf was either Ole in or Ole out that you can’t criticise or praise him without someone jumping on you.

Ole has met all expectations and built a incredible squad but the expectations have now changed this season let’s see how he does

Your expectations. I doubt the board shares the same irrational impatience the Oleouters do.

Get behind the team and the club FFS. Stop looking toward the end of the season hoping that we fail so you can say I was right.

Of course the boards have. What is this thing about Ole Out ? I’m not saying if he doesn’t win the league or anything he be sacked I meant the expectations from fans and club a like will be a title challenge you can’t tell me otherwise.

Fair enough. We'll be in it. People need to have some faith.

No more och excuses. You have a team of Ronaldo, Fernandes, Cavani, Pogba, Sancho. It’s time to step up, Ole.

Ole will come under more scrutiny this season and that is to be expected by everyone.
I hope he embraces this as the fans now have a roster that should be challenging for trophies and I hope he doesn't bang on about building a squad that will challenge in the future.

The old saying of enjoying the journey and not the destination.... apparently doesn't hold true for many here. Miserable bunch of people.

If the motive is right, I doubt Ole is the driving force in this decision. It's well reported SAF is the one doing the heavy lifting here. As the current manager Ole has some say, but I don't think as much as this tweet implied. Especially now we have Football director with power at least on equal term to Ole. Caring for club outlook without someone like SAF, is mostly directors' job.

So Ole's in the classic corporate conundrum: having all the responsibility without all the authority?

Nothing has changed -- we still and have always needed a CDM this summer. We can't afford to play McFred and expect to be as expansive going forward.

Doesn’t matter if he has the power or not. He may have made a compelling proposal for Murtough and the Glazers. That’s a manager’s job too.

He doesn't shoulder all the responsibility, does he? For example: is he the one who sign VDB? Ole renewed Phil Jones contract where he's freshly instated as full time manager?

If the restructure of management at the club to be believed, it's different from when SAF's still in control, who is the ultimate authority and taking full responsibility for signings and outgoings.

But how compelling he is, comparing to SAF who used to run the whole thing, being the driving force for Ronnie to rejoin.

Well the only one that is Premier League ready and is not going to cost a fortune is Neves as the others that are linked are teenagers that play in lower standard leagues which is always going to be a gamble.
Maybe if we made a move for Brozovic he looks like he has the game and maturity to adapt quickly and be the player we need but I cannot see Inter letting him go.

He certainly went up in my estimate as a Manager. He defended his players to the hilt. Whether he wins the PL or CL would depend on how good his coaches are. I think he has the players to certainly challenge for trophies.

I like his way of handling the team and transfers. "Im going to be nice and give you all the chances. But if you are not improving I'll bring Ronaldo and you can do nothing about it".

Ole has been the right man at the right moment for the club. However, looking at our current squad, and if things don’t work out, surely Zidane would be the perfect manager to take us forward.

was it Poch that lured Messi or Neymar, NAK and money?

Anyway, now Poch wI’ll really feel pressure now. No way, he goes trophyless again this year. He has to win some trophy of note with this team.
Both of you are right.

I think having the "poor squad" excuse is in a way more comfortable for a manager.

I see this season as the Lampard season, he got poor results but got a free pass because "poor squad" after Chelsea invested that excuse was no longer there and was only one person to point out to.

Same will happen with Ole if results don't come. With the current squad results will be expected specially since we got no time to lose with Cavani and Cristiano being on borrowed time.

There is no more excuses now. He's got a forward line that is amongst the best on the planet. Extremely solid CB.'s Arguably the best LB in World football. On paper, this team can compete with any team. He's also had time to implement his philosophy on this squad too. Anything less than a major trophy this season is a failure.

I would be massively disappointed if we don't win the Premier League in the next 2 seasons with Ronaldo on the team.

We have the best squad we had in ages. If we fail to win anything, should be sacked.

What? Zidane refused to play youth players and got himself sacked with the insistence of sticking to the squad that won the CL's, despite some of them being over the hill. On top of that he's said he's waiting for the France job

Solskjaer won't be sacked for not winning anything this year but we'll be expected to be in the mix for everything. If Ronaldo was here last year we'd have won the EL so hopefully this is the difference maker we need this season

Why is anyone even talking about what circumstances he 'should be sacked' in? Creating scenarios that haven't even happened yet. What's the point?

Fitting Ronaldo into the team is the real first test for Ole. No joking, no sarcasm. Ronaldo is both the ultimate weapon and ultimate problem. Problem because the team must be built around him. He proved to be a tactical headache for Sarri and Pirlo. arguably Allegri too. If Ole solves this puzzle and Ronnie improves us as a team, then Ole is The Boss.
I don’t think Ole is the person who starts feeling his position is threatened by Ronaldo or ends up in a power struggle with him or demand submission.

Ole will likely involve Ronaldo a lot in discussions and let him be part of decisions - a special advisor. Good for Ole, Ronaldo and the team. I think Ole and Ronaldo will be a great match.

3 days left? I guess anything is possible after this Ronaldo transfer.

Neither do I. I was referring to tactical issues only. Ronnie will have only positive effect on the atmospheric here, I think.

With a Rolls Royce defence, Ferrari like attack and workmanlike midfield..can we win the league? I think we can. What other team has a similar profile and had won trophies recently? Liverpool. The majority of goals seem to bypass thier midfield and they rely on thier brilliant front 3 to create and score. The main difference is the manager so the pressure is really on now.

We can win the league with McTominay and Fred in the middle, but I don’t think we can with Matic. He’s just too immobile.

If the restructure of management at the club to be believed, it's different from when SAF's still in control, who is the ultimate authority and taking full responsibility for signings and outgoings.

The structure is based on shared responsibility with Mortough acting as the connection between Ole and the Recruitment Team (Scouts) but it's reported reliably that Ole has a veto on transfer decisions, so for VdB, it might not have been his choice, but when the player was presented to him, he had the choice to accept or refuse, so with that being said it's clear he has a say on who the club signs, and for Cristiano's signing, once he and the recruitment team became aware of his availability, it was reported that he made a call to Ed Woodward to get a deal done, and that's where SAF stepped in to help of course.

So all in all, it's clear that Ole as the Manager of the 1st Team at United and as the head coach has sufficient authority on incomings and outings, and that new structure helps in terms of streamlining the process of recruitment

Just to manage a team of characters like Ronaldo, Cavani, Bruno, Pogba, Varane a manager needs to be mentally tough. Not a lot of managers can handle such characters in the same team. How Ole handles these characters in a single team will be a big testament from Ole.
