Sooner or later we'll replace him with someone else, just please God don't it be some past it ex great manager or not good enough but ex player/legend.

Chelsea were also willing to eat the gap in salary demand between their club legends and a manager like Tuchel. There’s no way price wasn’t one of the considerations in Ole becoming a long term appointment.

It sure was. He's a cheap solution that the sheep will follow. Perfect for the Glazers.

Two and a half years and we’re still at the stage where our tactical identity is ‘hope Bruno has a good game’

That initial period where he came in after Jose and lifted spirits and put together results good enough that meant the club had little option but to keep him on probably will end up holding us back years

Yeah, it probably has. It is just far more frustrating if you have missed out on one of the top managers again rather than a half decent one. That is Guardiola, Klopp, and now it is looking like Tuchel.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us saying that about Nagelsmann soon enough. He had a very average Leipzig team neck and neck with Bayern. Also knocked out us out of Europe.

It hurts to see Chelsea win the CL while we cant even beat the 7th place La Liga team to win Europa league. But what do people want? We should just sack Ole? Makes no sense. But the pressure is on now. On the board to invest and then on the players and Ole to perform. I dont think I've felt this thirst to see us back at the top since we fell

Also this kills the idea that you need 3 years to begin improving a team's football

It takes at least five surely? I’m looking forward to Ole’s third year when hopefully he’ll get to the ‘how to substitute an underperforming player’ chapter in his Ladybird Book of Football Management

Criticism is absurd, Ferguson also lost games after penalties whilst wearing socks. We need patience

I didn't even try to convince you or anything but feel free to assume otherwise.
Posts like "moaning" don't help. I have given a point of view and because it doesn't line up with yours I'm "moaning". Hardly constructive to the discussion.

Why Ole's fans are always full of insults to other posters?
Because they have only invisible facts as arguments so they go ad hominem.

No, it's just common sense. We're not City or Chelsea, and I'm not bleating on about the 'United Way' or somesuch either. We've only had a bloody DOF a few months! The entire structure has been threadbare and antiquated. We can't keep changing managers like other teams unless the absolute ideal fit is out there because the very way the whole thing has been set up means it causes carnage. We've eight years of evidence to show for it. It's a case by case basis, and we can't do what the oil clubs do.

The well oiled machine left with Fergie. We've got something cranky that's only just about stopped sputtering and spewing smoke. It's less to do with the manager than the owners and Woodward, they've destroyed what you remember and hope for. It's gone, and we're further off what you expect than you think. It's not a lowering of expectations or an acceptance of mediocrity, but the reality that the whole thing has been majorly, utterly fecked by incompentent vultures in suits that don't have a clue about football and what the club should be.

The man's played his part along with whoever else in doing an incredible job of trying to piece something back together. Whether he's good enough in the long run or not, he's helped put us back on the right track. It's pointless kicking off and arguing amongst ourselves because things haven't been ideal on the pitch. The damage is far deeper than that.

We have spent 300 million since appointing Ole, Ole's salary difference to a proven manager is peanuts in comparison.

We need a CDM to free up Pogba and Bruno next season and a CB instead of Lindelöf. We don’t have problems to score goals, I rather that we’re solid in the back and that gives more freedom for the attackers.

In regards to Ole it’s make or break for him next season. The number 2 place in the league, doesn’t look as good after Chelseas Champions league win and our Europa league loss.

Crybabies out in force tonight. Good on Tuchel for winning the CL, but it has zero bearing on us or our season.

It all comes to this; next year against Klopp, Tuchel and Guardiola, managers who coached biggest clubs and won everything, we are sending a guy whos cv is relegating Cardiff and two league titles in 7,8 years in Norway. Yeah, that will work surely.

Good. As the man himself said, trophies can mask the problems in the team.

When 3 English teams including fecking Leicester all have better trophy winning seasons than us, then it's an embarrassment.

We obviously need to respond to this as opposed to all the progress shite we've been spouting.

So what ? This is it ? We're entering next season with a manager who can't even manage a single one off crucial game when the pressure is on us to win while our opponents have managers like Tuchel who pull out such games against City, the unbeatable and unchallengeable gods of football according to some in a CL fecking final ?

It feels fecking shit.

It'll take me ton of top signings to actually look forward to next season after what I have seen this week.

Holy fecking shit I forgot that Leicester also won a trophy while we couldn't even win a Micky Mouse cup against 7th spot La Liga.

My feeling has become now ten times worse.

All this when the likes of Zizou, Conte are available. Going to be one depressing summer

That Leicester title and Chelseas win tonight is the highlight of the year stopping City to win it all.

Tuchel exposing brutally the hopelessness of our managerial situation. We either appoint past it managers, football dinosaurs or rookies. I think it is time to appoint a proper modern manager, that knows how to coach and has some tactical nous.

True albeit depressing.

What we are fighting for is top 4 and since Glazers are happy about it why would they want to "risk it" and hire the characters like Tuchel or Conte.

I would rather swap all our potential signings for new manager.

I do think it shows the difference a top manager can make to a side. Of course some will argue we tried with experienced manager before and it didn’t work so using the same logic of if you don’t get on with your first couple of girlfriends after a while it’s common sense to go gay, we went with someone who was almost a novice

Comment of the night.

It seems that losing a European final can really spur a team/manager to grow and come back stronger. It works with Klopp and Tuchel, and it is not the same stimulant you would gain if getting knocked out somewhere on the way to a final. Seeing this I am somewhat hopeful about our performance next year.

Perfectly put

Tonight proves that getting in a top manager works, stop trying to deflect the argument, because there is an argument about ole.
Exactly, mate. Losing to Villareal, a team where none of their players would start for us whose entire squad cost what we paid for Fred should have had Ole and the entire coaching staff sacked.

We know he’ll fail. His supporters don’t believe he’ll suddenly emerge a top class manager. It all boils down to the fact it’s not considered becoming of Top Reds to call for change until the inevitable has proven itself.

Ole will be here 6 years more and not win a thing, Rashford will of course play every game “anyone who doubts the manager needs to give their head a wobble and Rashford is only 30 -he’ll come good”
