There are no excuses now we've signed Fernandes and have a creative midfielder. We're 25 games in, have spent £185m on 5 players and are down to 7th.

If we don't see some improvement after this winter break the board will have no option but to bring Poch in, if only for season ticket sales.

I think once champions league is out of the question he will be sacked and Poch brought in.

Even with the current team we have we should be comfortably in the top four where Leicester are.

Doesn't hide the fact we need a starting RW and CF with Martial as backup.

Imagine if we got Haaland and paid him Sanchez wages but we gave it to that waste of space so was out of the question.

YEah looking on paper if ours and Sheffield's team combined how many of theirs would make an 18 maybe 1/2 so that discrepancy has to Be down with wages.

And yeah I totally agree we need a functioning ST RW and some solid CM till we can hope this gets better but the blame hasn't to go somewhere and it's been about five windows we've known we needed that and still hasn't been addressed.

Lose to Chelsea and we’ll be as close to 16th (or worse) as we are to 4th, I’d imagine that will ramp up the negotiations with Poch. It’s incredible that 4th is still a possibility given our points tally, the Chelsea game is a defining moment for Ole, he’ll probably be happy with a draw.

Love how people are still pushing this conspiracy theory....that’s not happening and Poch won’t just come in and wave a magic wand to fix everything.

All these poch love in fans are a joke, so you want the club to restart a rebuild yet again?

The club is moving in the right direction.

But posters have no patience whatsoever and want win win win and not wait for the pay off

Ole’s buys have ultimately been positive. Bruno seems to be a quality buy, even though James isn’t performing to how he was at the start of the season (cos he’s knackered as we have a thin squad) Maguire is arguably out best CB, AWB is a fantastic buy - don’t know why people have got such a hard on for Poch.

I for one want Poch to come in and the for him to do shocking and then see the same d***k riders for Poch come out with all the excuses Ole In fans give as that the squads thin, it’s a rebuild etc etc

Have some bloody patience and stop riding the “we’re manchester united” train. We’re simply not as good as we used to be! Have some patience there’s something there.

The squad is young and inconsistent....once the consistency comes I have no worries that we won’t be successful again

There’s also wayyyyy less pressure at a club like Sheffield United, which is why I don’t like facile comparisons. Whether we’re on our knees or not, the media scrutiny is still at a totally different level than the likes of Sheffield United, or even Leicester, who’ve won the league more recently than us.

It’ll be interesting to see how long our malaise last. If it keeps up it’ll start affecting our commercial value, which might trigger some real change. Ideally in who owns and/or runs the club. I’m just glad I’m used to failure through following the Norwegian NT, otherwise I’d be way more thin-skinned about this.

The comparisons are already there. Ole is playing in the big leagues now and if he can't handle the pressure then surely we have to find a manager who can and I really haven't seen anything from him to suggest he can handle the pressure. From tactics right down to press conferences Ole looks so far out of his depth he's starting to drown. I just don't think he realises it yet.

It really is a pity because he did one of the hardest parts of the job in getting rid of the toxicity that Mou left behind and brought in good players but if he doesn't know how to coach them then there's no point continuing if we want to get back to being a force again.

The table, win-rate and points total tell us without any doubt that they are finding it plenty less hard than United, Spurs or Arsenal.
Plenty? I’ll wager a bet we will be above them by the end of February? I’ll even give you even money with a 5 point start and home advantage against us.
I’d be all over that but on principle I never bet against United.
It’s open to you pal @Rhyme Animal saw what I saw ;)

Well @fergiesarmy1, this went well eh? Forget end of Feb, it’s already mathematically impossible by 2nd Feb to be anything other than level with them if we win 2 on the bounce and they lose 2. fecking awful. :(

As I suggested then, we’re now 7th and dropping like a fecking stone, more likely we’ll be 10th by end of Feb.

Lucky for you I don’t ever bet against my own club but then again it wasn’t really a fair bet, would’ve been like taking candy from a baby.

We probably wont be in the top 6 going by our next 5 games. Ole somehow managed to get out of these situations, but i expect us to have major problems against our next opponents without Rashford to bail us out. If he fails like i expect, we will probably be proper midtable in every sense of the word. Crash out of the Europa League and the season is done with no CL football again next year. At least we dont have to wait til May to find out, Ed will have plenty of time to think about the next guy (hopefully a better choice)

One of the worst posts I’ve ever read.

9 wins in Ole’s last 30 Premier League games, but yeah man, “there’s something there”. There is, a shit manager who despite making good buys as you say yourself gets shitter and shitter? Aren’t good buys supposed to make your team better?

The sheer delusion of some of you lot.

Good buys that turn to shit the longer they spend around Ole and his team of numpties in the coaching department. There's no telling some people mate, they will claim black is white just to stick to their POV because it apparently makes them 'a real supporter'.

Well there's 233 more of those so have a nice read.

Hopefully we'll start producing some decent results in the PL soon but if we don't I wonder where Woodward draws the line. Will any results be acceptable or is there a breaking point. Looking at the season so far it's not impossible we might up around 10th place.

I actually think it is the worst Ole in post I've read.

You say this every day, and yet you keep trying. The definition of insanity?

Well, at least we are not 5th anymore so we don't have to listen to "But we are 5th so it proves we are doing very well" nonsense

You enjoy that fact more than you should. :nono:

Look what the club did to LVG and he was doing a much better job, it’s pretty much guaranteed they have spoken to Poch.

I never said he was perfect but he’s a bet he r manager who’s and most importantly he’s available so easily recruited. Ole’s best hope for being employed next year is that Poch doesn’t want the job.

I don’t think anyone is saying win, win, win that’s just what people like to say to deflect from the fact that Ole isn’t doing a very good job.

A new rebuild would be a much better idea than a bad one.

I think he needs to go in the summer, so that we can bring a good young manager with a view on longevity.

Pochettino would be lovely.

Win against chelsea is must. Draw or lose advantage spurs.

And Sheff Utd, Wolves, Everton and all the other teams queuing up behind us. That’s what could really cost Ole, few more bad results and we’re in the bottom half.

Could still be salvaged but he’s going to have to grow some balls and not be chuffed with himself for drawing games like yesterday.

In my opinion, Ole's biggest failure is not our league position or the points. Don't get me wrong, it is absolutely horrendous and clearly the worst of the 4 managers we've had post Fergie.

But Ole has dismantled the core of the squad and has made us impossible for anyone to improve. When Jose left, we had a good (not great) squad which had the potential to play like we did when Ole started. But in the name of clearing deadwood, we sold some talented players and did not replace them with anyone. Coupled with our shocking style of play and the above mentioned league position and surely another year out of the UCL, we have become a club to avoid for most players now. The blinkered support he enjoys from some/most of the support is just the cherry on top. We are a club which runs like a propaganda driven state with everyone from the Glazers, Ed, Ole, the ex-players, all playing their part.
Ole getting rid of the deadwood is by far the best thing he's done for us. Your so-called core was abysmal.

If we had a decent forward line, we’d be in a much better position than we are now that’s for sure

The club is moving in the right direction.
What direction is that? Win percentage is getting worse every month. Players look knackered because they run around with no purpose. We have the ball the whole game and can't create a single chance. Teams with one third of our budget or even less are ahead of us and playing better football. Every week we're getting mocked because of Ole and opposition fans are begging us to keep him. Theres absolutely no direction, its a downward spiral.

The club is moving in the right direction.

Agreed.
If you are are a rival club. :p

The actual fact is that 2 years back we finished 2nd and now we are in 7th place.
By any definition we are heading in the downward direction.
It is mind boggling that anybody who has a functioning brain (i.e. not a vegetable or in a coma), can claim otherwise.

 Right direction. I'll have some of what you're smoking.

Why would it be restarting the rebuild? What absolute drivel. For the umpteenth time, Ole does not have some sort of monopoly on rebuilding the squad. Most managers out there could take over and instantly do a better job of it. A new manager doesn't mean the players we've signed under Ole become obsolete. It doesn't mean tearing everything down. It just means bringing in a guy who actually knows what he wants his teams' football to look like, and how best to achieve it.

Ole has apparently made good signings, got rid of deadwood, I think outspent virtually every club in last two transfer windows, hasn’t had to play the virus, doesn’t have a toxic relationship with the players and everyone at the club and yet somehow we’re worse.

Not sure what you mean by the comparisons are already there? People doing that doesn’t mean we are comparable.

And when I mention the pressure that comes with United, I’m not just talking about Ole, the players as well. Even under Fergie, when everything was ticking perfectly, there were plenty of good players who couldn’t hack it being scrutinised the way you are at a club like United.

As for the rest, people are riled up and will get worked up over press conferences. I don’t read that much into it. There’s every reason to start doubting him making us capable of breaking down low blocks, though. Hard to gauge when we don’t have a functional right wing, no Pogba and McSauce, and our best striker is out for the most of this season, but there’s a limit to how long you can hold out for him to have a proper squad. If we don’t start picking up more points before the end of the season then you won’t see me whining about Ole being replaced.

What Ole is doing is creating a system which is so good, that the players are yet to understand it.
A system of playing which is so radically advanced that it will take 2 years for the players to understand it. But when they do, we will be unstoppable.
The poor results we are seeing now, must be ignored. It's all part of the fiendishly excellent plan.

Funny how some of Ole's fans forget one of his first interviews. When Ole was hired he said that he likes to play through wings. That he wants full backs high on the pitch and wingers who will try to beat full back. And then he buys full back who is useless in attack and winger who can't beat his man( unless he has 50 yards of open space).
But nevertheless, him staying here after having 9 wins in 25 games is laughable stuff.

I read that Wolves have 5 clean sheets in 20 games and we think they're a hard team to break down, it's all down to our poor tactics.

I honestly would LOVE to see journalists start properly embarrassing Ole during these interviews.

"How many teams actually do break down Wolves?"

"Well, Ole, they've got 5 clean sheets in 20 games so I think it's safe to say that quite a lot of teams break down Wolves. Why do you think your boys are one of the few that actually can't? What do you think the problem is, Ole?"

It'd be brilliant. He needs to realise he can't keep spouting off such nonsense and get away with it every time.

Can the Ole supporters please explain this?
I genuinely want to hear how they can explain this as progress?
"Needs time"
"Shit team"
"Long term"
"Pogba"
"Getting there"
"Results are not everything"
"Squad depth"
"Board and Ed"

I don't want to see Ole publicly humiliated but I do hope the board are already securing a competent replacement.

It is getting very embarrassing now, especially like Ole said, we've played Wolves plenty of times the past few seasons, so why haven't we done our homework properly and found a way to beat them?!

Funny if we sacked Mourinho for Ole, only for Mourinho to take Spurs above us.

Mourinho needed to go, though. Toxic man.

Only becasue he didn't get the players he knew we needed.

He just didn't fancy sticking around at a club he knew wouldn't win anything, although ironically that seems to be all he can get nowadays hence his current location.

Obvious what happened, isn't it. Jose realised he wasn't going to be matched in his ambition for the club so started burning all bridges to get out of here. He alluded to all of this in his interviews. Like I said at the time, even the anti Jose crowd should have been alarmed.

If he knew we needed a top class CB, then maybe he shouldn't have sanctioned the purchases of Bailly and Lindelof.

And still had a better record than Ole despite actively trying to get the sack
