 he's so unbelievably small-time. Moyes 2.0

Moyes was a better quality manager.
However, if we change manager, it won't really make much difference. The change must happen at the top.
In saying this, Ole is grossly under-performing with the squad he currently has.

We have won 10 premier league games since he got the permanent job and that is somehow going in the right direction.

Some fecking bizarre choices today. Periera playing as a wide left is comfortbaly the oddest decision. And why's he leaving the subs so late in the game ? Everyone could see we could've done with Dalot on the right over AWB ,who continues to look utterly underwhelming in a attacking sense.

Pereira started in midfield and was a fecking disaster so he got shifted out wide in the 2nd half. Not that it mattered much, but we were slightly less shit in the 2nd and Wolves could no longer stroll right by us as they did in the 1st

Ole Gunnar Solskjær

1. Continue to use a 4231 formation when it clearly doesn’t work when we dominate possession.
2. Buy Portugals best nr 10 and then don’t use him in his best position.
3. Starting with Pereira in a midfield two and then find out it doesn’t work, again, and again, and again.
4. Zero seconds of coaching in 95 minutes. Total lack of presence, total lack of involvement.
5. Substitutions in the 87 minute.

What was the game plan?
Starts with James on left, then on the right , then not at all.
Why Pereira on the left? Why Pereira as a United player at all? Just why?
Lindelöf, Pereira and James looked like Championship players again. Do they actually know the where, what and when?

It’s just so boring and sad to repeat the same old conclusions once again.

It really is apparent that we lack good coaching. It's the reason Wolves and Sheffield Utd are on par with us.

Our corner and free-kick routines are dire. We should have twice as many goals scored from set pieces. Our performances are totally reliant on individual moments. Our link up play down the flanks is insipid. The number of players we get into the box is rarely enough. Our defense is reliant upon Maguire and AWB making last ditch attempts.

The only way its going to be fixed is a change of manager and coaching staff. If any of the above was going to improve under Ole it already would have. However, instead we have gone backwards. Oh but wait we've got Phelan....Meulensteen and Queiroz were the key coaches under that time.
This times a hundred. I’ve actually lost the will to complain about this anymore.
People say no managers got a chance with Ed and the Glazers. But what chance do we have as a FOOTBALLING team with such a diabolical coaching team?

Nothings improving. We’ve looked woefully under coached and short of direction so so long.
At least things will change the summer, they must surely.
I genuinely believe there's a good chance he's still here.

It's Woodward, and there's still a large amount of fan base that support Ole because he's an ex-player.

2 weeks without football and we'll see people voting to keep him on again. Cause united fans init.

Some will still want him on today anyway. I'm just going to enjoy having 2 weeks without boring football or terrible results.

Previously I hated any breaks during the season but now I search for them.

Yeah true that.

Ok, a little exercise for anyone who can answer this question.

Tell me any specific tactical features implemented by Ole and his coaching team since he's been here.

You can't use vague general descriptions such as 'counter attacking', 'pressing' etc. Specifics. How, where, when, what.

Agree that Moyes is better and a change is needed at board level. However, even with their incompetence we would be doing a lot better if we hired a quality manager capable of actually coaching the team to a decent standard, so IMO it would make a big difference changing the manager, providing we do it sensibly for a change.

And I can't argue with any of that. All those points are in my opinion reasons to praise him. But I don't see Ole knowing anyone who coaches at a better technical level, and even if someone was available I simply just don't see him changing it. It strikes of Moyes doing things one way/his way and being too stubborn to change it up. With that being my belief, all the good off pitch management will be nullified by an endlessly drab "style" of football that takes us nowhere; one that in truth is just holding us back.

It's a rebuild, I think for me, I know that Ole doesn't give a crap about his rep like Jose and doesn't work in boundaries like LVG eg a left footed CB most play LCB Or Rooney is my captain.

Until we attack by the wing play, we will struggle against the low block. Because it's to narrow in the middle. I also think he is is stuck because he needs a "break nose" striker think Alan shearer if your on the wings you're going to wip it in.

Let’s have it warrior. What did you see? Given, we will have Matic and hopefully a few more back soon. What did Ole do wrong today? Let’s have it!? My bet is you don’t have a clue! All you can dish out is the like. “Should have started Greenwood. Should have. Should have. And should have. Wish I had more daily posts, and I would debate you to never post again :smirk:

Here is my take. Weed out the players lacking football intelligence and sign more players like today’s debutante!

Here comes the funny part! In comes the experts calling it on subs and in game management.
First, in game management was damage control. Where could we put Pereira so he wouldn’t do more damage. Second. What subs? There is nothing on the bench making any difference.

Have fun taxi driver experts
I thought this guy got banned?

We only played 25 games in the league so far so not sure why last season's results are being used. 9 wins in 25, only three behind Chelsea.

-13 points in comparison with last season, -7 on GD. Massive progress. But we're signing leaders with the right mentality for the future and shit.

Here comes the rhetoric mafia. The ones never kicked a ball in their life. The ones telling it how it is

Me. I saw lots of things to build on. Loads.
There was a poster here called @Wolff. Newbie who couldn't write a post without insulting other posters or being aggressive You are him, right?

Half press, counter on teams that play attacking (see city or any other top team)

Possession through the middle, full press, at risk of counter for low block (see today)

So lots of emotional hyperbole and not much else!

I see it differently. There were several occasions today when in the final third, our players were taking two touches instead of one, and that shows down the play and makes wastes the strikers runs. Our players need to get on the front foot and play with much more urgency. Im sure OGS is not instructing them to play so slow?
Every time the midfielders get the ball they stall. This is because they are not coached on attacking patterns. When we play defending teams he gets exposed as a manager. I saw no combinations of play or any obvious pattern when we have the ball and they are sitting back it is repeating itself since march 2019.

My question to you or any other Ole supporter. Why would I give the job of the biggest club in the world to someone who has a small CV like him. He never did anything good outside of Norway and there the quality of football is below the premiership. Why city and Liverpool have proven managers who won big titles and reached CL finals, why we have a manager who his best premier league experience is relegating a team?

It is a disgrace a club in the size and the prestige of our club assign the most important role in the club based on sentimentality!

But but he made that tactical change by bringing on Shaw for Williams when we were 2-0 down against Burnley which was too complex and special for the idiotic “Ole Out” brigade to understand.

Man has no style of play whatsoever. The football is shit and we can’t break teams down. He needs to go.

Apparently because Arsenal and Spurs are awful this season it means Ole gets a free pass to be shit too.

Always someone else's fault, it can't be that maybe he is out of his depth?

Maybe, I can only say It is how i see it.

Maybe the question should be - what do you think? What would you do?

He's just a really poor manager. We all know it but some have to be contrarians because it's all edgy and they fancy some online recognition. But we all know he's shite. I don't for one minute believe the parody posters in this thread believe what they post.

I'm sorry but the guy is an idiot. I loved Ole as player. Ole why you do this to me?

I’ll never quite understand just how he’s still got so much support.
People are sentimental and can't distinguish between a legendary player and a struggling manager who is way out of his depth.

The man who's going to lead us forward apparently according to his supporters.

Yes but if you add SAF and the manager who would replace Ole, it adds up to six which is exactly the number of managers I claimed.

Why do you feel the need to insult somebody with whom you disagree? In this particular instance you were wrong. Somehow I don't think you'll be able to bring yourself to apologize for your error.

you’re both forgetting Giggs

regardless. We’ve had too many and the original point made seems quite valid to me
