Not sure, obviously very confident in the source that it's legit and aren't afraid of being sued for libel. BBC have reported now that Spiegel have reported it (nice way to cover themselves whilst getting the story out).
Why are the English media pretty quiet on this?
Other than the fact it was obvious - but now there are facts to prove it - is it because they are scared to go after City (as they took on UEFA/FIFA and clearly won)? Or is it just because they think nothing will happen so what's the point?

So it’s a conspiracy against PSG, huh? Independent means exactly what it sounds like. And both those firms would have to show their work. It’s not like they just pulled numbers out of their bums and pointed a finger. But you keep fighting that good fight, brobeans.
Because City put a nice spread on, and treat the journos well at conferences.
And also they love Pep and think his football is the best in history, so would hate to ruin that even if their whole set up is an absolute disgrace. When you hear Chelsea fans moaning about their money, you know it's messed up.

Bad faith are on both sides really: UEFA saying they want a better/fair football world and PSG saying that some sponsorship contracts are in line with the market (concept that does not have a scientific meaning because there are always some exceptions on a market btw)
Don't you think that FFP is above all a 'political measure'? In which business do you see some investors restricted in terms of invested amounts?

Then don't question someone's universe just because you want to believe in somethingNot a specialist in UK law but the leaked documents come from criminal activity (hacking). UK journalists may not be above the law when it come to protecting sources like in France or Germany.
Oh I have no doubt UEFA is still as corrupt as it has ever been and the rules of ffp were to keep the status quo rather than any altruistic reasons, but rules are the rules and and city and PSG(in this instance) are found to be in breach. While there may be some exceptions to market value, I find it very hard to believe that two different bodies found a discrepancy that large and it’s just down to market interpretations.

Well, in this case it didn't seem the client (UEFA) wanted what they produced either, based on the leaks..
They report on the Spiegel reports. That way they didn't have to handle the documents themselves.
Of course, we could agree that some contracts are not in line with the market standards... but the EU is supposed to promote free and totally deregulated markets... for better or for worse

The issue is FFP rules are unclear and that is why there is so much speculation.
The sanctions are also unclear because the UEFA can decide to apply very soft or very hard sanctions at its own discretion.

Who exactly is going to investigate them? Can UEFA investigate their own corruption?
This will end the same way as last time. UEFA doesnt have enough resources to prosecute the big clubs, so they will agree on a financial settlement with some going through the backdoor.

If the British media don’t splash this all over their pages, then they complicit in the cover ups. There’s a reason why journalists have been lavishing so much praise on City. They are being paid by City to do so. They must be, because there is never a bad word reported about their ill gotten gains.
Thats sounds quite plausible, but it hasn't stopped them in the past. I'm pretty sure Edward Snowdon, Wikileaks & the Panama Papers were all pretty much on the same basis as this and they reported on it quickly and the questionable legality of how the info was obtained did not seem to be an issue.
This is going the way of tobacco companies. They will tie UEFA up in litigation for years and become untouchable.

I'm pretty sure I read "John" (the guy running Football Leaks) said in an interview thay none of the documents are from hacking, but from people within different organizations sharing documents with them. I'll see if I can find the interview.

It has got to be more than that. The way Martin Samuel has been defending City for years, i'd be surprised if he isn't being paid by them in some form. BTW I'm curious whether it's legal for sports journos to take money from clubs to write favorable articles?

No, they cannot. It would have to be declared as a paid article. That doesn't mean underhand practices dont take place but its not remotely as widespread as people seem to believe.
