I agree with you @esmufc07. We have sacked the manager but retained the whole coaching setup, when everyone can clearly see that we dont have any tactics, playing style and are not coached. Get them all out
I think the only way the club could have sacked Ole this weekend and still made the wrong decision was if they'd decided to give Carrick any more work at the club.
To be fair, the Glazers can't dismiss the whole coaching staff.... the next manager (permanent) will do that and bring in his own staff..... hopefully!!!

Is Tuchel on the training field coaching? I dont know what kind of day to day role he has. I saw some videos of Xavi returning to Barca and he was out there on the 1st day organizing and getting them set up, whereas Ole usually stood there with his hands in his pocket
Yup, top 4, a good run in the CL, and hope Liverpool don’t win the league. That’s the best we can hope for this season.

If they’re all staying Ole has just been used as the fall guy it’s pointless. Maybe they should have fired him 2 weeks ago and appointed one of the best coaches in the world in Conte who would have brought his own staff and had over 2 weeks of training with the squad?
The club is a complete mess from top to bottom. Now we get an interim quarter of the way through a season with the same backroom staff this season is already a write off

Sad for Ole, I don't think he's done as bad a job as some, but it's been obvious for quite some time that he wasn't going to last. The the Liverpool and City performances followed by an international break created the ideal opportunity to make a change in some sort of planned way, but no, the board decides to waste that opportunity and then sack him anyway, while doing nothing that will help the team to perform any better going into a crucial CL game and then with Chelsea next.
Nothing has changed, Oles gone from the firing line but the coaching set up remains the same.
This board is 100% reactive, nothing is done in a planned or managed way with them.

I would imagine so, Tuchel is an innovative tactical so imagine he’s pretty hands on with that. Ole almost saw himself as a DoF, the coaches were left to do their own thing with broad, overarching input from Ole.

Let's be fair, though. While defeats to us and Liverpool will NEVER be acceptable to utd fans (and rightly so), they were understandable given the status of the teams now. But getting a chasing at Watford who, even after yesterday, are only 2 points outside the bottom 3 was always likely to ring alarm bells in the hierarchy at OT.

We could have done things over the international break. This 'head in sand' approach by the club is one of the reasons why we find ourselves in such a predicament. They have waited until the last possible moment to dismiss Ole and screwed up the managemebt of the changeover. The incompetence we are witnessing here is staggering.
Even if there's someone lined up, literally everyone with first team coaching experience is a better interim than Carrick. Every manager in the L1, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, etc has better credentials than Carrick. And with how poor our coaching has been with Carrick on staff, the odds of him turning out a good manager are very slim. Great managers often stand out at the assistant level already.
We need to stop with this ex player bullshit and get someone the players know who the feck they are and what they've won, even if it's as an interim. There's a reason Chelsea appointed Hiddink a couple of times as interim and not Drogba.
A guy walking into the dressing room having achieved feck all as a manager is just a signal to the players that we have no standards.
Having been a good player is not a predictor of managerial ability. Stam was arguably a better player for us than Carrick and is an absolute joke of a manager.
Carrick should get one game only, while we fly our interim in and he needs to feck off even if he wins 0-10 in Spain.

He is. Chelsea don't really have a "manager" in the old fashioned "in charge of everything" kind of way. Tuchel is head coach.

Ole has done a very good job at rebuilding the player staff and made the club top 4 consistent presence, the only one to do so since SAF. It is a shame he could not make the next step forward, but left the club in a very much improved position then what he had taken over and laid the foundations for the next manager to go directly to challenging. If that comes to pass, I hope our more emotional fans will find it within themselves to give credit to Ole and the extremely difficult job he has done to revamp the squad and getting us out from the rot of the mid table finishes we were falling in to before his appointment.

We're only 6 points from 4th, behind West Ham, Arsenal and Wolves. We may be 7th (possibly 9th after today if Everton and Spurs win) but 4th should be the minimum expectation now.

Just pleased it's over now despite the silly timing because it's It's been a chore going to these games at OT over the past couple of months.

Highly debatable. We were 6th when he took over and he has left us 7th. We have a few players who want to leave and are running their contracts down. Our two main strikers have a combined age of 70. He has spunked 400m and bought some absolute dossers like Maguire and AWB. Never won a trophy, lost countless semi finals. Hasnt really promoted youth apart from Greenwood.
But I suppose the mood around the camp was better.
