I haven't watched like the newest two season, who are the 2 extra guys in that photo? big players behind the scenes or actual new characters?

I dont think it's stupid fun. It's just pure entertainment. Has a good story, great characters and was made really well. When asking people about their favourite shows or films, it's all subjective. People enjoy different things. That's why critics charts will always have shows like Sopranos and Mad Men near the top, because they are greatly written shows, but your general public have a varied taste. I wont criticise any thing on this list because I appreciate that different things please different people.

Well nah, decent critics have a better understanding of what they are praising or not.....general public are hit or miss and just excuse dumb fun and loopholes as great. I'm not judging anyone for LIKING it, it just shouldn't be anywhere near a best of list that ask it's voters to judge on that basis before enjoyment or on a 50/50 basis, I dunno. Theres a reason why shows like this and big blockbusters show up on public lists and never on critics lists. Same with any art form really, except maybe, randomly games.

30. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - 2005-Present
joey_always_sunny.jpg

The draw of Always Sunny is that even though it uses the standard 20 minute long sitcom format it so brilliantly exposes the inner darkness of of the characters. The show is amazing not just because of the amusing situations that the crew get themselves into by being terrible human beings, but because the way that they act and the terrible things that they do are things that every rational sane viewer in the same situation would consider and then immediately dismiss five seconds later as being the acts of a sociopath.

@Duffy

You have made a mistake with House of Cards (US) - a lot of voters voted for House of cards UK .. for example

Bury red did -

01. The Wire
02. Red Dwarf
03. Cracker
04. Father Ted
05. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
06. Only Fools & Horses
07. House of Cards / To Play the King / Final Cut
08. Blackadder
09. American Horror Story
10. The Office (UK)
11. Dexter
12. The Walking Dead
13. Life on Mars (UK)
14. My Name is Earl
15. The X-Files

To play the king/final cut are only part of UK series.

Unless someone explicitly mentioned US version, it should be UK only.

All these bloody UK/US things...right, if so, House Of Cards UK (not including To Play the King/The Final Cut) is only 4 episodes long?

All these US/UK remakes have made this a pain in the arse

In all it has 12 episodes if you count the others as 2nd and 3rd season, which they should be since same was done for Yes Minister/ Yes PM

Split the votes but a few have just put "House Of Cards" should I take votes as UK?

Can't be House of Cards (US), right? It's a seriously hollow show with no plot lines and where all of Frank's machinations just work out. :wenger: Stopped watching it midway through season 2. Robin Wright and Spacey are good, rest is a bit meh..

18. Blackadder - 1983-1989
article-1093912-02C58975000005DC-633_468x468.jpg

The genius is in the setup - Blackadder uses his command of the English language to its absolutely vicious best, but still remains relatable. He's a prick to be sure but as much has he can all but physically eviscerate people with his sharp tongue he's essentially always under the pump. As excellently delivered as the lines are, it is being the butler to an out of touch and eccentric prince, Lord in the court of a psychopathic queen, or Captain under an insane Colonel make the character human. It grows from just Rowan Atkinson insulting Tony Robinson, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie in a series of increasingly creative ways (which I would still watch) to a more relatable tale of someone who knows that they're better than their superiors but is stuck because they can't do anything about it. That empathetic element is the brilliance here.

Don bother with the first season though, it's actual rubbish (the character is written Verny differently)

Yeah it is very average, I am surprised so many have it on their list

Is Duffy taking the piss?

Is he seriously putting this on hold for the match? Lazy.

 I do apologize...I'm actually waiting for a few people to confirm if they voted for House of Cards US or UK, will be good to go once they do.

Well it's gonna drop a few places, US or UK so I will have to combine it in a post with another entry and all above it will move up 1 spot, but want to make sure I get their votes right.

Sign of the times. Glossy, cheesy jingoism (I'm mostly basing this from the intro) is outdated, people seek the darkness and the dryness of Kevin Spacey's head.
Have you started it yet btw?

I guess, but it's pretty cult for a lot of those who have seen it. Was just a bit surprised, but there were so many to list...
