Official RedCafe FIFA11 PS3 Tournament!!

Deadlines doesn't work mate, we've tried it but people don't have respect for them.

"Hey you have to play before Monday, otherwise you're out"

Seeing as there is only 4 games to the final, it's no fun to have reached there due to a couple of walk over's. These tournaments won't work so long people who go online once a year sign up for them. As for arranging your meetings, I recommend PMs.

Did you see how unlucky I was for your 3rd and 4th goals in the first game? :lol: Pretty much outplayed for most of it though. You deserved it, well played mate.

Two tough games there, well played mate.

And yeah :lol: them third and fourth goals were lucky, especially the fourth it sort of deflected off your man and then hit my man in the face and went in.

Are you particularly good at jostling/winning the ball in the air? Or was I just rubbish at it, because I'm usually alright at it, in that game though it felt like my players had a strength of children.

That was weird tbh, because Napoli haven't really got that many tall strong players whilst Fulham have a few.

Fair play some of your goals in the first game were quality, the header with Zamora and that great passing move you did to score with Murphy (I think)
 
Probably me being rubbish at it then. Yeah I was chuffed with the Zamora header, 5 seconds later you had it in the back of my net again though :lol: Every time I thought I could get back in it you hit me with a suckerpunch. Some of your passing in the box was ridiculously hard to keep up with, one of your goals you squeezed a pass through the eye of a needle while I tried to swarm him in the box.

Bordeaux 1 -0 Galatasaray

A scrappy 2-1 win on aggregate for me, I found it extremely tough to score in both games and Bordeaux are a painfully slow side but I made it in the end.
 
The Turkish dream is over. Galatasaray were cruelly dumped out of the Official RedCafe FIFA11 PS3 Tournament!!! after a 2-1 aggregate loss to Bordeaux.

A Milan Baros fluke wondergoal wasn't enough to save the battling Turks, as Bordeaux held them to a 1-1 draw in the first leg, then beat them 1-0 in the second.

Bordeaux hero Modeste was invisible. He played well, but the Galatasaray defence apparently couldn't see him, so they just let him past.

In English: Sarni beat me 2-1 on aggregate.

That Baros goal, first I ran at him with two defenders and they both missed him, then I chased him with Ciani and couldn't get there at all. And you've done something I couldn't do over the tie, i.e. score one-on-one.

Modeste is awful, I had like five clear cut chances with him and still had to rely on Plasil and Gouffran to get the job done properly.

I liked the way my midfield worked though, closing down and leaving little space. Shame that I barely have anyone who could score, and no right-footed free kick taker.

Fenerbahce next so it's a Turkish journey for me. :D

Seems marchi-91 is out due to an inappropriate timezone, shame really. In comes DanNistelrooy to play ben_united. Two English, should work better with the time differences I suppose!
 
I may be away on the weekend so I ask for permission to play my quarter-final game until Thursday.

We're only waiting for Dan and Ben who said they'll play tomorrow, which means quarters also can be played tomorrow evening.

Sweden has been going strong in this tournament, winning all 3 ties. Poland and Ireland still have one player in the competition and there will be 3 English players in the quarter-finals.
No English player has beaten an opposition from outside of England in the first round.
A total of 44 goals have been scored so far, an average of 3.15 goals per game.

Very close games, Werders defenders are beasts. And Marin proved the difference in attack for me. Good games Ben
