Norwich City Football Club (also known as The Canaries or City or The Citizens) is an English professional football club based in Norwich, Norfolk, that competes in the Premier League. Norwich City was formed following a meeting at the Criterion Cafe in Norwich on 17 June 1902 by a group of friends led by two former Norwich CEYMS players, and played their first competitive match against Harwich & Parkeston, at Newmarket Road on 6 September 1902. They also joined the Norfolk & Suffolk League for the 1902–03 season, but during the First World War, with football suspended and facing spiralling debts, they went into voluntary liquidation on 10 December 1917.

The club was officially reformed on 15 February 1919 – a key figure in the event was Charles Frederick Watling, future Lord Mayor of Norwich and the father of future club chairman, Geoffrey Watling. Norwich City F.C. played at Newmarket Road from 1902 to 1908. Following a dispute over the conditions of renting the Newmarket Road ground, in 1908 the club moved to a new home in a converted disused chalk pit in Rosary Road which became known as “The Nest”. By the 1930s, the ground was too small for the growing crowds, and in 1935 the club moved to its current home in Carrow Road.

The club's main local rival is Ipswich Town. When Norwich and Ipswich meet it is known as the East Anglian Derby, or, informally, as the Old Farm Derby – a comic reference to the 'Old Firm Derby' played between Scottish teams Celtic and Rangers. The fans' song “On the Ball, City” is the oldest football chant in the world, written in 1890 and still sung today; the song is, in fact, older than the club itself having probably been penned for Norwich Teachers or Caley's FC in the 1890s and adapted for Norwich City.

I will say something which would be unreal in the past. It all depends on Norwich. If they go and play their attacking football then we will wait for counters and win. If they decide to stay deep, it will be boring game where one lucky moment will decide a winner

Penalty is our only hope to snatch a heroic 1-1 draw.

    Will probably be

    DDG
    AWB - Lindelof - Maguire - Young
    McT - Fred
    James - Pereira - Rashford
    Martial

    DDG
    Lindelof......Mag.....Rojo
    Awb.....Scott....Fred.....Young
    Andreas
    Rashford....James (Martial)

Pogba for Fred if he is fit enough for aome minutes, I would also prefer Williams in for Young, but that's just hope. Probably another drab performance, but hoping to get on a winning run finally so going 1-0.

honestly im tempted to wish for a loss just to see how bad this could get. Be like a football manager run where you just screw around and see what the board puts up with.

except we can't just reload a save here.

My first away game this weekend and I’m driving the whole 8.5 hours round trip to watch this shite.

Thinking we will score 2... good one.

Probably a bad thing to say, but I hope we lose badly the faster we sink the faster we can get back to the top. There's no point in extending this agony.

We'll score more than 1 IMO. If theres any away game this season that suits us, it's this one (or should be). Unfortunately we suck without Pogba all the time, while sometimes we are decent with him, so still wont be great. At least we can have our first choice front 3 though and almost first choice defence.

    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Young
    McTominay Fred
    James Lingard Rashford
    Martial

Luckily for us Norwich play with a high back line and attack attack attack. We are actually solid at the back and should handle them whilst their aggressive play should allow a lot of space for James and Rashford to run into and cause them problems. Fairly confident we will win and score more than 1 goal.

Agree with the lineup other than I would start Andreas over Lingard right now and based on performance and Ole's post match comments today I believe Williams should get the nod over Young.

    Completely agree with this, from now to January, I think we have to go like this;
    Ddg
    Awb...Lind....Mag.....William's
    Scott.....Fred (Pogba)
    James....Andreas...Rashford
    Martial
Then hopefully buy a better replacement for Andreas in January and that's the best we can do till the summer I feel. Definatley a base to start building something great.

This game will have goals, 3 2 Norwich. I can see them dominating midfield whilst we sit back like a promoted team like a bunch of school children waiting for a break to counter. Does Ole realise he is not Fergie and probably should stop trying to copying everything that worked for him in the 2000s.

    De Gea
    AWB - Maguire - Lindelof
    Young - McTominay - Fred - Williams
    Rashford - Martial - James

Would seriously go with this, need some attacking intent from our wing backs. AWB doesn't suit that role so I'd play him or Tuanzabe if he's fit on the right side. Maybe Young instead of Williams on the left and hopefully Pogba is fit. Martial probably shouldn't do 2 games so quick but I'd start James up top.

    De Gea

    AWB Maguire Lindelof

    Laird Mctominay Pogba Williams

    Pereira

    Rashford James

You'd think we' win but given we are unlikely to actually have a meaningful shot...

It's crazy I know, but I think, or perhaps hope, that we can grab 2 or more goals here.

    C'mon boys, enough is enough.

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Williams
    Fred McTominay
    James Perreira Rashford
    Martial

We need to go back to playing Rashford and Martial, both interchanging.

Solskjaer is in until top 4 isn't possible.

Unless we lose 2-3 in a row, or end up bottom3 it won't happen sooner.
